“Fantastic experience from start to finish. Great communication, regular updates, and Ted was very well cared for and happy. Would absolutely book again and highly recommend.”

About: I was a nanny + dog sitter for 3 years for a family. I took care of 3 kiddos + 3 dogs. I know the hustle, I am super organized and reliable. Mexican = hard worker. You won’t regret it! I am looking to have this job as a side hustle. Vancouver is an expensive city and having some extra income truly comes in nicely. I am available Monday to Friday after 5:30pm. And Fully available on weekends. Thank you!! I am able to take a small dog to my place, is a 1 bedroom apartment with a big balcony. I have a grass area just downstairs so I can easily take pup for walk or potty, not a problem.

“Marta took such wonderful care of our cats, Maverick and Goose, while my partner and I were away. She visited them, played with them, and made sure they were happy and well cared for. From the photos she shared, we could see just how much they loved her and genuinely looked forward to her visits. Knowing they were in such great hands completely put us at ease while we were away on our honeymoon. We couldn’t recommend Marta more and will absolutely be hoping she can take care of our cats again in the future.”

“Amazing cat sitter — very friendly, reliable, and caring. Took great care of our cat, gave regular updates, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“Nataliia took great care of our cat Abbey, she has a calm demeanour and gave our cat the company she needed while we were away. Will definitely have Nataliia back again!”

About: Grew up with pets, raised a motley crew of pets, volunteered with the SPCA, and an animal sanctuary in Bolivia. Experience with puppies, seniors, and nervous dogs and cats. My time is to myself these days. I’m focusing on my health and am on a work leave. I would prioritize your pets when I’m sitting. I care for pets in my home as I would my own pets. They have access to all rooms. They can sit on the couch. Sleeping space is delegated to the living room if it’s a crate situation. However, I keep my bedroom door open, and pets can choose their spot. Feeding takes place in the kitchen, and my neighbourhood is great for walks with a dog park a couple of blocks away.
“Rover's speedy ability to connect me with Carol l's excellent care was unexpected and absolutely what I was hoping for. Even though Rover identified several sitters very quickly, Carol was the first to propose and follow through on a meeting with our animals. Very quickly Carol's experience and comfort with caring for animals became evident and I was able to walk her through our pet care instructions. I received notifications daily through the App about Carol's visits and I was able to follow up with her quickly about some things I had forgotten to address before I left. It was a tremendous relief to know that all of our pets were being cared for by someone who genuinely loves animals and who is responsible and responsive to humans and to animals. It would be my pleasure to have Carol look in on our urban farm in the future.”
“So appreciative of Mila’s drop in visit with our puppy! She is a great communicator and kept me updated. She is clearly an animal lover. When we had our meet and greet I knew instantly Orson would be well taken care of :)”

“Really appreciate Madison’s care for our puppy. Communication was clear and easy, and Orson was clearly in experienced, caring hands. I have no reservations recommending Madison!”

About: My wife and I have years of experience taking care of dogs. We love them. But we ensure that we love dogs in the ways that they receive love. Structure, exercise, cuddles, and calm, consistent leadership. I am well experienced in dog training, canine behaviour, and am confident working with dogs of varying sizes, breeds, and temperaments. My wife has worked for Global Pet Foods, and thus is experienced in dog nutrition and care. Together, we have raised & trained a beautiful female Vizsla named Sage. Our work schedule is quite flexible, so we are able to go out for walks or drop in for home visits. Rain or shine we love a good walk! We adhere to the guidelines given to us by the owners, as they know their dogs best. Upon that, we give dogs in our care plenty of structure, exercise, training, and attention. We also ensure the dogs stay well-nourished and protected while they are under our care. Responsibility & love is what we strive to provide.
“Priscilla was fantastic! She did drop-in visits at my home for Bluey and Star, and everything went perfectly. Communication was easy and I felt completely at ease while I was away. When I returned, both cats were content and happy, which says a lot. Priscilla ensured they got their wet food and checked that everything was okay in the apartment. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter!”

“Melissa went above and beyond. I could tell from the Meet and Greet and photos of the first visit that my dog adores her. I’ll be booking another visit soon and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her for house sitting too. Thanks Melissa! It’s comforting to know my dog is in good hands!”

“Thank you, Danica! From the start, Danica was responsive and easy to communicate with. She set up a meet and greet to meet my animals ahead of time and ensure things would be a good fit. Danica has a calming, safe presence and my animals felt at ease around her. She is highly reliable, kind, considerate and truly made me feel like my animals were with a family member. I will absolutely reach out to her as my first choice should I require animal care in the future :-)”

About: Hello, I'm Jenny! I have had the pleasure of owning and caring for two amazing dogs: Scruffy, a Maltipoo, and Tali, a Husky. With Scruffy, I learned the importance of gentle care for small breeds, providing proper grooming, walks, and tailored nutrition. Tali, my current dog, is a rescue with a cleft paw! She has taught me so much about adaptability, and how each dog has different needs. My experience with Scruffy and Tali has given me insight into the unique needs of different breeds. Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Vancouver
Just got back home and greeted by Jessica, who looks puuuurfectly happy and well taken care of! Kayla has been really nice and informative. Since I was using Rover for the first time she carefully explained how it works and kept me updated about how Jessica was doing with videos when I was away. Thanks Kayla!

Devon was the perfect pet sitter for my cat Edna! Firstly, she took the time to do a meet and greet so we could meet her before going on vacation which meant a lot just to know my kitty would be in good hands. She communicated amazingly and stuck to our agreed on schedule and let me know of any changes well in advance. During her visits she sent cute videos and photos, and truly went above and beyond in caring for Edna. It was obvious that Edna adored her and I couldn’t be happier. I’m super grateful and will absolutely be booking with Devon again!

Skye was absolutely wonderful with Nattan! She was very responsible, attentive, and caring throughout the entire stay. She paid close attention to his needs and made sure he was comfortable, safe, and well looked after. I really appreciated the updates and the care she put into everything. Nattan was clearly happy and relaxed with her.

We've had Ivanna for two separate vacations now, taking care of our two cats. Each time we've felt completely comfortable with leaving the kitties in her care. She is very communicative and sent great pics and updates. She also took care of a little fruit-fly situation from some forgotten fruit for us-- she definitely cares about the animals and their people! I will definitely be trying to book her for our next vacation.

Hatice did an amazing job sending me picture and updates while doing drop in visits. It was my first time doing the drop in visits, I was nervous to leave Lilo alone at home for the first time and Hatice put my mind at ease. I will definitely rebook with Hatice in the future.

Amanda is great. We use her often to look after our cat Lulu who has both diabetes and a thyroid condition. Amanda is able to do all Lulu’s medication (even when she’s crabby about it) and gives Lulu lots of pets and cuddles when she’s in the mood for it. Highly recommend her as a sitter for short or long trips.

Maria and Gabriel are amazing! We so appreciated their open communication, attentiveness to Luna’s daily needs and flexibility with changes for Luna’s care. They clearly love animals and bonded quickly with Luna and gave her all the love and care our old gal needs. Maria and Gabriel sent clear messages to share their care steps as a checklist and lots of adorable photos. We felt such relief to know they were carefully checking on Luna daily and were thorough about how she was doing with detailed observations so we could adjust her care plan if needed. We had a FaceTime call to “meet” each other before they cared for Luna and that was super wonderful too. Thank you so much and we hope other pet owners are lucky to find availability to book with you!! Caroline & Jon

Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
