“Carol went above and beyond for our cat, Autumn. She was so sweet and caring and I couldn’t ask for a better person to have watched her while we were again. Thank you so much, Carol! Will definitely be booking you again next time we go.”

“Melissa went above and beyond. I could tell from the Meet and Greet and photos of the first visit that my dog adores her. I’ll be booking another visit soon and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her for house sitting too. Thanks Melissa! It’s comforting to know my dog is in good hands!”

“Priscilla was fantastic! She did drop-in visits at my home for Bluey and Star, and everything went perfectly. Communication was easy and I felt completely at ease while I was away. When I returned, both cats were content and happy, which says a lot. Priscilla ensured they got their wet food and checked that everything was okay in the apartment. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter!”

“Klara pet sat my cat goose for a couple days. Our trip even got cut short and she was on standby just incase I was delayed. From the moment we met her we knew she was the one for the job. She was caring, thoughtful and had excellent communication. The daily reports were detailed with photo and videos to accompany. It was so great to know and see how happy my fur ball was during their visits. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and animals for over 20 years and have experience with puppies, senior dogs, high-energy breeds, and shy or anxious pets. Along with personal pet care experience, I’ve also volunteered with the VOKRA (Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association) as a foster navigator and socializer, helping animals become comfortable, confident, and well-adjusted around people. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, supervise, and care for their pets as if they were my own. I’m patient, attentive, active, and genuinely passionate about animals, and I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and happiness while in my care. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine since I already spend a lot of time around animals and regularly go on walks and outdoor activities. I’m active, reliable, and flexible with scheduling, and I make sure pets get plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I’m also experienced with maintaining routines, feeding schedules, and making pets feel comfortable and relaxed while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I’m attentive, patient, and experienced with reading animal behavior and making pets feel safe and secure in new environments. Through my volunteer experience with VOKRA as a foster navigator and socializer, I’ve worked with animals that require extra patience, supervision, and trust-building. I’m very aware of roads, other dogs, other animals, and environmental factors during walks and outings, and I always prioritize safe, controlled, and positive experiences for every pet in my care. I follow owner instructions carefully, maintain a clean and calm environment, and treat every pet like family.
“Really appreciate Madison’s care for our puppy. Communication was clear and easy, and Orson was clearly in experienced, caring hands. I have no reservations recommending Madison!”

“Daphne did an amazing job taking care of our cat, Nori, while we were away. She provided daily updates with pictures, which made us feel at ease knowing Nori was in good hands. Daphne is a trustworthy, responsible, and caring sitter, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for pet care.”

“Linn was super accommodating, friendly, and caring towards both my cat Oreo and myself! I could tell my cat Oreo felt safe with her. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Kazuko is very sweet! She pays close attention to detail. She left us detailed notes about our cats and took photos. Unfortunately, our plans changed last minute and we needed to cancel some of our booking but Kazuko was so understanding and accommodating. Will definitely have Kazuko watch our cats again in the future😊”

“Natalie was easy to communicate with and she was very accommodating with both a virtual and in-person meet-and-greet! She was very respectful of my cat's nerves and boundaries upon first meeting and based on the photos and reports I received, he seemed to get along with her well! She left my place tidy and made sure he was fed, watered, and that his litterbox was clean.”

About: My wife and I have years of experience taking care of dogs. We love them. But we ensure that we love dogs in the ways that they receive love. Structure, exercise, cuddles, and calm, consistent leadership. I am well experienced in dog training, canine behaviour, and am confident working with dogs of varying sizes, breeds, and temperaments. My wife has worked for Global Pet Foods, and thus is experienced in dog nutrition and care. Together, we have raised & trained a beautiful female Vizsla named Sage. Our work schedule is quite flexible, so we are able to go out for walks or drop in for home visits. Rain or shine we love a good walk! We adhere to the guidelines given to us by the owners, as they know their dogs best. Upon that, we give dogs in our care plenty of structure, exercise, training, and attention. We also ensure the dogs stay well-nourished and protected while they are under our care. Responsibility & love is what we strive to provide.
About: My dad was a dog trainer so I’ve been around and taken care of dog my whole life. I also have taken care of and walked many of my family and neighbours dogs. I’m available full-time, Monday-Friday. I’m just finishing up a summer job, then going back to school online so I have a lot of free time. I have a large fence field in front of my house, and there are two dogs parks near by. So there is lots of space to run and play. I find walks and getting outside no matter the weather to be important for keep all dogs and other pets happy and healthy.

“Marta was incredibly kind, caring, and professional. She was responsive to all our needs for our many pets. She even won over our very anxious cat who hides for most pet sitters! She was great with our rabbit too!”

“Anna was amazing ! We booked her last minute and some how my old address came up so Anna travelled out of her way for a wrong address - not only was she super understanding, she went back on the bus to get To my dogs (I’m sure a lot of people would be very upset at the mistake). She was extremely understanding which helped a very stressful situation we were dealing with. She communicated above and beyond. My pups loved her - we got lots of pictures and updates. We will be using her again for sure. Thanks again Anna”
“So appreciative of Mila’s drop in visit with our puppy! She is a great communicator and kept me updated. She is clearly an animal lover. When we had our meet and greet I knew instantly Orson would be well taken care of :)”

“Thank you, Danica! From the start, Danica was responsive and easy to communicate with. She set up a meet and greet to meet my animals ahead of time and ensure things would be a good fit. Danica has a calming, safe presence and my animals felt at ease around her. She is highly reliable, kind, considerate and truly made me feel like my animals were with a family member. I will absolutely reach out to her as my first choice should I require animal care in the future :-)”

“Wonderful girls to work with!! Really amazing at communicating, always go the extra mile, and Billy loves having mental stimulation with the tricks they teach him!! Really looking forward to having them care for Billy for a long long time!! Highly recommend!”

About: Hello! I have 8 years of experience walking smaller dogs (chihuahua, havanese) and bigger dogs (golden retriever, black lab). I absolutely love to throw the ball around and happy to give lots of extra pets and treats, with your approval of course. We can also keep things consistent and calm by having me copy the commands and cues you would normally use with your pet. I adore spending time with dogs and cats, and am usually the person at a dinner party who ends up sitting on the floor with an adorable animal and showing them lots of attention and affection! I understand how stressful it can be, trusting a new person to take care of your pet and I am happy to do vibe checks over the phone too! ✅ I have lots of time right now to hang out with your pet and get our steps in! I am currently off work doing a quiet study semester with lots of reading time and flexible hours. I take punctuality seriously and will always budget to be in the neighbourhood 5 to 10 minutes early just in case of traffic or unexpected delays. You and your pet need someone you can rely to make the day less stressful and more fun! I am not currently boarding animals in my apartment, but am happy to come to yours! Can be super flexible with travel needs and scheduling too.

Keyan is a gem! This is our second time booking her to look after our cats, and it’s clear she truly adores animals. She is reliable, responsive, and always super friendly and upbeat. What really stood out this time is that our cats remembered her right away from her last visit a few months ago. That made a huge difference, especially since our calico is very shy and reserved. Keyan was so patient and gentle—she even managed to coax her out from under the bed for dinner and some companionship. We felt completely at ease knowing our cats were in such caring and capable hands. I would highly recommend Keyan to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.

Kazuko was amazing as usual! She went out of her way to maintain Cleo’s routines while I was away, even taking her on her little walks in the park (which can be intimidating if you’ve never walked a cat before)! She sent lots of photos and great updates and made me feel like Cleo was totally safe in her hands :)

We felt so at ease leaving our little guy knowing Grace was going to be stopping by to check on him! She made key pickup easy and kept us updated while away. Ollie was a little shy but we know he liked her too since he ventured out to say hi. Thank you so much Grace!!!

Yuliya is an amazing pet sitter - her communication is top notch and she really cares about the pets she looks after. This is evident in the way she asks questions and how she shows her interest in the pets she looks after. My cat was very relaxed when I came home and I really appreciated her attention to details throughout the process. Thanks Yuliya!!

Andres took exceptional care of Freddie and Roger. I felt completely at ease while I was away because he did much more than just take care of their litter boxes, food, and water. He spent quality time with them, played with them, and made sure they were happy and comfortable. He kept me informed throughout the entire stay and regularly sent photos and videos, which I appreciated. Both cats clearly loved their time with Andres, and I would absolutely trust him to care for them again whenever I need a pet sitter.

Angela provided excellent care for my cat, Tommy, while I was away. She not only fulfilled the requirements, she provided him with treats and brushed him daily, which he loves. I highly recommend Angela as a cat sitter. She is kind, caring, and very responsible.

Erika stepped in to help us out when our original sitter wasn’t available last minute. She took such great care of our cat and sent so many great photos and video updates of their time together. Great communication and we came back to a happy cat, thanks again Erika!

Eliza took wonderful care of our shy and rather anxious rescue cat. She won him over on the first visit, as he came to her for petting, and enjoyed being combed. When we came home after 5 days away, he was settled and happy…I don’t think he missed us! We hope to use her services again, and highly recommend her.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
