“Menghan was very professional. My dog had an incident and unfortunately attacked her dog Jenny. :( She was able to separate both of them and she right away updated me of what happened and was able to find out the source of the attack. Again, we're so sorry and thank you for taking care of Casper.”

“Yi-Yu is truly the best! Wolfy has tons of energy and needs daily fetch, and he came home happy and completely tired every single day. She even took him out on the rainiest day, which meant so much to me. Yi-Yu is easygoing, reliable, and clearly loves dogs. I highly recommend her — thank you, Yi-Yu!”

“Natasha was so great with our puppy. She is so knowledgeable and truly cares about the dogs and their safety and comfort. She was very thorough with asking questions and getting to know our pup so she could provide the best care. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Dafne was awesome! She took my request super last minute and made everything really easy. She sent lots of updates and cute pics while I was away, and even followed up before the daycare visit to make sure I had everything I needed. It was clear my pup was in great hands. I’d definitely book with her again!”

“My big bundle of joy and headache had a great time with Guy & Zol. Their constant update, interaction and flexibility was a best example of professionalism and service. But more than that, the fact my Loki had such a fun day with them, was more than I could ask for. It gave me the sense of relief and worry free day at work. Can’t wait to use their service again soon.”

“Dean is a spectacular dog sitter! He is flexible with drop off and pick up times, and is really attentive to my dog Melo. Dean took Melo on lots of walks and let him run around in the backyard or at the dog park. My dog never wants to leave when it’s time for pick and always comes home happy and tired.”

About: I enjoy spending time with pets and taking care of them. I can feed them, wash them; play, walk with them; clean up after them. I am not working at the moment and therefore I have a lot of free time to surround your pet with care, attention and affection I comb pets or play with them. I talk to pets and reward them for following commands. I sing lullabies to them and lisp with them 😁
“Klara took excellent care of my dog, Izzie. She was reliable, communicative, and treated Izzie like she was her own dog. I was very confident that Izzie was well looked after while in Klara’s care. Would absolutely recommend.”

“Rhiannon took such great care of my doggo! She was great in communication and kept me updated with photos, which made feel reassured and appreciated. She has a small pup Cheddar that’s so sweet and got along so well with Salgu. When I picked up Salgu, she was happy and clearly well cared for. I’d ask to Rhiannon to care for her again in a heartbeat 😊”

“Yoonjoo took amazing care of Snoop! She was very flexible with drop offs and pick ups. Snoop always needed to have a nap when he got home so he definitely had a blast! She is great with sending photos and updates throughout the day as well!”

“Another great stay at Saige and Jack’s! My puppy Norman loves going to their house, as soon as we pull up his tail is wagging and he’s so excited to see them and their dog Morley. They provide a safe home with plenty of outside time and exercise time! Will continue booking with them 🐾😊”

“I am out of words to express how grateful I am for the care my dog, Bobo, received. All this happened when I had to travel to Canada on a days notice due to work. On such short notice, she welcomed Bobo into her home and made her feel completely at ease. Her sweet dog, Loki, quickly became Bobo’s best buddy, which made me so happy. She took Bobo on regular walks, sent me updates, and made me feel truly at peace while I was away. It’s rare to find someone so kind, reliable, and genuinely loving toward animals. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again — Bobo is already looking forward to her next visit!”

“I'm so happy I found Page to watch our puppy. She has a great sized back yard which I'm sure my puppy really enjoyed. Once I got home after picking up my puppy she slept for the rest of the day so I'm certain she had a good time and got taken care of very well.”
“Coco had a great stay with Lisa! I booked pretty last minute (the day before), but Lisa accepted quickly and arranged a meet-and-greet with me and my dog. She is really friendly, gentle and my dog got along well with her instantly! During the day where Coco stayed with Lisa, Lisa sent me a lot of photos and updates. I will definitely use her services again, and would also recommend her to my friends with dogs!”

“Zac was super kind and accommodating. They are super sweet towards Leeloo. Took her on multiple walks in the short time Leeloo was with them. I would definitely seek their help again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Vancouver
Sam was amazing! Our little Benji is only 12 weeks old and a handful at times to deal with. Sam was a pro! She provided updates throughout the day and was super reliable. I think Benji misses her already! Will absolutely use Sam again in the future and recommend her to everyone!

Yi-Yu is great with my little menace of a dog and sends frequent updates. Yi-Yu also shared a few tips regarding nutrition and vet care which was very helpful. My dog Harley comes home happy and tired. I’ve used Yi-Yu’s doggy daycare services a few times so far and plan on using her services on a regular basis.

Karli watched over my super anxious rescue pug who struggles with separation anxiety but Karli was understanding and patient with her and it wasn’t long until I was receiving updates of Kewpie snuggled up to her! Thanks Karli for providing Kewpie a safe place to snooze for the day.

Joshua is great! Drop off and pickup were easy. Graham was well cared for and well walked :) Joshua is familiar with the breed's predisposition to back injuries so I felt safe leaving Graham in his care. He came home happy and tired. I plan on booking with Joshua again and definitely recommend his dog sitting services.

Marie-Sara is very kind and professional! She is very good with animals and I knew that Pikachu was safe when she was taking care of him! She took him for multiple walks. I will definitely book with her again! She also accepted my booking with very little notice and also set up a meet and greet! I am so lucky to have found her.

We recently moved here and were looking for someone we could trust to look after our dog, Ranger, for longer stays in the future. As every dog owner knows, finding the right person can be stressful, so we decided to do a half-day trial with Nicole first. We’re so glad we did! Nicole was very friendly and responsive from the start. She sent us updates and pictures throughout the day and, after checking with us first, took Ranger on a long walk, which he absolutely loves. He came back a very happy dog. What really stood out was how thoughtful and professional she was. She asked all the right questions beforehand to make sure she cared for Ranger in the way he’s used to. Ranger also has a bit of separation anxiety, and when we were leaving, he tried to follow us to the door. Nicole immediately and gently took charge, comforted him, and clearly knew exactly how to handle the situation. Overall, she made us feel completely at ease. We’ve already booked longer stays with her and feel very comfortable leaving Ranger in her care. She seems genuinely great with dogs and clearly knows what she’s doing. We’re very happy we found her!

Anna was great and very accommodating with mi schedule. Anna kept me posted with pictures. Benny had a good time. Benny has separation anxiety but when I picked him up and we were leaving, he wanted Anna’s attention 🐶 I would recommend Anna and will be happy to use her service again.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Vancouver commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
