“Milo had such a great time! Thank you again, David, Fay, and Olivia, for taking such good care of him, it was lovely meeting you in person. We really appreciated the updates and photos throughout the day, they gave us so much peace of mind. He must’ve had an amazing time with the walk and all the play, he’s been totally zonked out since we got home 😅💤 Looking forward to the next visit. Thanks again for everything!”

About: Hi, I'm Katie! I'm a reliable, responsible, and experienced dog lover who loves spending time outdoors. My senior dog of 17 years passed earlier this year and I am finding myself missing having a dog around. I'd love to help your dog get the exercise and attention they need. Whether your pup loves a quick stroll or a longer outing, I’m happy to match their pace and needs. I can't wait to meet your doggos! During the dates I’m available, dog walking will be a priority in my daily routine. I’m not working during this time, so I have lots of flexibility to fit your dog’s walking needs. I’m committed to giving your dog regular exercise, attention, and care. When walking dogs, I focus on making each outing safe, enjoyable, and tailored to their individual needs. I always ensure they are securely leashed, follow their usual walking routines, and pay close attention to their comfort, energy levels, and the weather. I treat every dog like my own, giving them lots of encouragement, patience, and love during our walks.
About: I grew up with several cats and 3 German Shepherds in my family. Now I have 2 fur babies, a Corgi and a rescue dog - who I trained and raised from little puppies. But at the moment they're in Hong Kong with my parents as my current living + work situation in Vancouver doesn't quite allow for me to take close care of them in the way they deserve (apartment, a lot of travel etc.) I'm the primary sitter but my husband is an animal doctor so he's a great contact to have on hand! I run my own business and work from home, so my schedule is generally pretty flexible. I very much miss my dogs' company so I'd love to take care of yours when I'm available to! I'm able to come and stay for short stays with your pet - play, train, take them on walks as wanted and needed. I'm also more than happy to share lots of photos and keep in close contact when house-sitting.
“Natasha is very knowledgeable about dogs. She made me feel I could trust leaving Lola with her and not be worried, she has two other dogs that got along with Lola very good. She sent me pictures and videos which I loved. When I picked up Lola she was very happy and tired after spend all day with her new friends 😁 I think we just found Lola’s nanny. Thank you Natasha.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Robin. This really is a perfect day care for our young Bernese. Robin is very kind and patient and really knows dogs! Highly recommended.”

“Always grateful when Andrea is able to sit our pup Ralph. He loves staying with her and her sweet girl Benji. Photos and updates are always appreciated perks but we trust her entirely. I have also had to make some last minute changes due to my work and she has been really accommodating.”

“I can't recommend Alexi & Daryl enough! They took such great care of my pup, Izzy, and were incredibly responsive throughout. Their friendly and warm personalities made the whole experience even better. I loved receiving regular updates and adorable pictures—they clearly have a passion for pets, and Izzy seemed so happy with them. If you’re looking for sitters who are reliable and attentive, Alexi & Daryl are the perfect choice!”

“I had such a wonderful experience with Diana and Nuree. They were incredibly caring and attentive with Kuma (my 6 months old puppy), making sure he was comfortable and happy the entire time. I really appreciated how they adjusted so well to Kuma’s needs and made sure everything was taken care of responsibly. I also loved receiving lots of pictures and updates—it gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. You can tell they truly care about the pets they look after. Highly recommend!”

“The greatest pet sitters we have ever had! Both Olesia and Katya are incredibly professional, patient, and caring. They have such a genuine love for furry creatures and always treat pets with kindness, attention, and care. We always feel confident knowing our pets are in such loving and capable hands. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, responsible, and compassionate pet sitters! Looking forward to book new services with them. Thank you so much! Cheers, Laura, Yury & Foster”

“This was our first time using Rover and our 13-month-old teacup Maltipoo, Prince’s, first doggy daycare experience. As nervous pet parents, we weren’t sure what to expect. Prince is very tiny and can be a little shy, timid, and anxious, but Andrea and Sergio were very understanding of his needs and helped him get settled in and feel comfortable. They kept us updated throughout the day with photos, which gave us peace of mind. When we picked Prince up, Sergio took the time to answer our questions and share some helpful tips on socializing him. Prince had a great day, and we’ve already gone ahead and booked our next daycare visit. We would absolutely recommend Andrea and Sergio to anyone looking for knowledgeable, caring, and trustworthy dog sitters.”

“We have been very happy to have met Valerie to look after our Milo. She is kind and responsible and very good with him overall. We trust her fully and would highly recommend her.”

“Jennifer was very kind and caring, she asked everything about our dog and respected his schedule very carefully and sent us multiple pictures! Her golden retriever also was super sweet and friendly with our dog! Highly recommended!”

“Aditya & Alpana took great care of my Husky for doggy day care! She loved playing with their gorgeous resident dog, they took her for a nice walk and they sent me lots of photos and kept me updated throughout the day. Thank you!”

“I am extremely satisfied with their service. My beloved pet can be quite picky, but it didn't take long for Leo to win her over. He is attentive and keeps me informed with regular updates. I highly recommend him and I know Peppa will be thrilled to see them again.”

“My dog can be nervous around new people and he warmed right up to Tanya. Thank you for making him (and me!) feel comfortable. I greatly appreciated the photo updates too!”

“What a wonderful couple who were so kind, caring and patient with our anxious rescue! Our pooch isn’t usually a fan of people, but warmed super quickly to Luiz and Luciana! They followed our instructions and sent regular updates. We’ll be regular clients!”

Menghan will take great care of your doggo! She obviously cares deeply for dogs. She asks a lot of good questions to make sure that your pup will be comfortable while they are staying with her. Mauree and Nat were so great with Kewpie!! My dog is an anxious rescue but I could tell from all of the photos and updates during her stay that Kewpie felt safe and secure with them in their home. I felt confident that they were able to handle Kewpie’s reactivity and really appreciated how intentional they were at getting to know Kewpie during our meet and greet.

We’ve had an amazing experience with Theresa! Sage got spoiled with lots of walks and an outing to the dog park. Really great communication from the start with booking, meet and greet and throughout the day I got updates with pictures and videos. Thanks so much Theresa, will book again in the future!

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Vancouver commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
