“Menghan looked after Lenny, our 2 year old Labrador for the first time today. It was also our first time using Rover. Menghan’s communication was exceptional and we received photos and videos of Lenny having a wonderful time all throughout the day. Lenny came home exhausted and happy and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave her in Menghan’s care again 😊💕🐾”

“Rhiannon took such great care of my doggo! She was great in communication and kept me updated with photos, which made feel reassured and appreciated. She has a small pup Cheddar that’s so sweet and got along so well with Salgu. When I picked up Salgu, she was happy and clearly well cared for. I’d ask to Rhiannon to care for her again in a heartbeat 😊”

“Dean was super accommodating of our last minute request and of our fairly timid shy pup. We were really grateful for his care while we went to a baseball game, and he was flexible when it extended over time. We would absolutely use Dean again and recommend him to others.”

“Natasha was everything we could have asked for in a sitter for our puppy - she is knowledgable, caring, affectionate and experienced. This was the first time we had left our 3 month old puppy in someone else's care outside our home and Natasha was very attentive to get all the details she needed to ensure he had the best experience. She was very flexible and understanding when our schedule changed at the last minute. We would definitely have our puppy stay with her again in the future!”

“We couldn’t be happier with Andrea’s care for our puppy! We didn’t have a good experience with our last sitter on Rover, so we were a bit nervous, but Andrea put us at ease right away. He was incredibly responsive, answering our messages quickly and keeping us updated throughout the day with pictures and notes about how Bobo was doing. It was clear that Andrea genuinely cared for Bobo and made sure he was comfortable and happy. We highly recommend Andrea to anyone looking for a responsible, attentive, and caring dog sitter.”

“Yoonjoo took amazing care of Snoop! She was very flexible with drop offs and pick ups. Snoop always needed to have a nap when he got home so he definitely had a blast! She is great with sending photos and updates throughout the day as well!”

About: Ive been raised with dogs in my family for my entire life, including my own personal Akita named Simba. My upbringing and experience has taught me a great deal about how to care for pets, and have the utmost respect towards pets and pet owners alike. I’ve always taken great pride in taking care of my pets to the highest degree and treat them as both my family members and best companions. I have experience with very large, medium and small sized dogs from new born puppies to elderly. I currently work fully remotely from home 5 days per week from 9-5. I have a great amount of flexibility when it comes to giving attention or activity during the workday! I live with my girlfriend who is a dietitian in a dog friendly apartment building but do not currently have my own personal pets. I keep an extremely clean home and ensure pets have ample entertainment through their toys, human interaction, and comfortable bedding. I am very health conscious on behalf of all pets I have owned or take care of, I never want to expose dogs or animals to anything that could cause harm or health complications.
“Ariel was wonderful! We were visiting Vancouver from out of town and needed someone to watch our small toy poodle while we attended the World Cup. It was our first time leaving him with someone we didn’t know, so we were a little nervous, but she made us feel completely at ease. She was incredibly responsive from the start, sent us lots of pictures throughout the day, and kept us updated, which gave us so much peace of mind. She was also so accommodating since we had just arrived in Vancouver and dropping him off with her was our first stop. She truly went above and beyond! Hulkito had a great day with her, and we are so grateful for how well she took care of him. Thank you, Ariel!!!”

“Thanks for being flexible with our schedule! Sherri came back tired and ready to sleep - seemed like she had a great day playing with her new friends! We'll definitely be in touch in the future.”

“I'm so happy I found Page to watch our puppy. She has a great sized back yard which I'm sure my puppy really enjoyed. Once I got home after picking up my puppy she slept for the rest of the day so I'm certain she had a good time and got taken care of very well.”
“Lisa took care of Ali'i his first time in a new place in Canada. She did an amazing job keeping him calm and making sure he felt comfortable. I received lots of pictures and was updated throughout his stay. I will be using Lisa again!”

“The greatest pet sitters we have ever had! Both Olesia and Katya are incredibly professional, patient, and caring. They have such a genuine love for furry creatures and always treat pets with kindness, attention, and care. We always feel confident knowing our pets are in such loving and capable hands. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, responsible, and compassionate pet sitters! Looking forward to book new services with them. Thank you so much! Cheers, Laura, Yury & Foster”

“Irene is absolutely wonderful! My puppy, Wiggle, has separation anxiety and I was nervous leaving her with someone new, but Irene took everything at her pace and made her feel completely at ease from day one. She kept me updated with photos and messages throughout the day, used a double leash as an extra precaution without me even asking, and took Wiggle on the most amazing adventure, Jericho, the duck pond, the beach, and shady walks to keep her comfortable. By the end of the day, Wiggle was happily snoozing on Irene’s couch. That says it all! We will definitely be back.”

“We were very happy to find Jie to take care of our dog for the day while we were visiting the city. Our dog came back happy, and we were glad to hear from Jie that he even had the chance to play at the dog park and eat his food (he is a picky eater, so we didn’t expect him to eat much at all). We would definitely book with Jie when we visit the city in the future!”

“When I brought Teddy for his second visit he was very happy to see Guy and this is an excellent sign for me. Teddy recognized him right away and Guy gave Teddy lots of love which he of course adored! I could tell that Teddy was comfortable and relaxed. He went to play catch with Guy and we are planning to try an overnight stay. So glad we found Guy!”

- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Vancouver commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 82% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
