“Anna took great care of our dog Puffin in her home. He was so happy to see her when we arrived which was an amazing sign. Puffin had lots of opportunity to play, look out the window and sleep on a cosy pile of blankets. Anna also ensured that Puffin got all of his bathroom breaks and walks as needed. I also received lots of updates and pictures throughout the day. I would 100% recommend Anna for doggy daycare services.”

“Thank you for taking the best care of my nervous girl today! Menghan went over and above making my shy gal comfortable and keeping me updated throughout the day. She came home super tired 🥰”

“Jungho and his little trio family were loving and wonderful. I would ask them to care for our cautious rescue Luna again in a heartbeat. I immediately felt that their home and their family would be a comfortable, safe, and loving space. I trusted them right away. Luna seemed very happy with them. I feel grateful for their care and look forward to calling upon them again. Highly recommend!!”

“Dean is a spectacular dog sitter! He is flexible with drop off and pick up times, and is really attentive to my dog Melo. Dean took Melo on lots of walks and let him run around in the backyard or at the dog park. My dog never wants to leave when it’s time for pick and always comes home happy and tired.”

“Rhiannon took such great care of my doggo! She was great in communication and kept me updated with photos, which made feel reassured and appreciated. She has a small pup Cheddar that’s so sweet and got along so well with Salgu. When I picked up Salgu, she was happy and clearly well cared for. I’d ask to Rhiannon to care for her again in a heartbeat 😊”

“Guy and Zol watched Sandy last minute yesterday and we’re so grateful. Like the first time they were very welcoming and full of information and curiosity. Sending many cute pictures of Sandy throughout the day so we knew she was well cared for and having a fun and relaxing time.”

“Amazing experience! We will definitely come again - Barney was well taken care of. Yoonjoo was really responsive, very friendly, and sent us pictures of Barney while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“I highly recommend Natasha for your dog care needs. She took the time to thoroughly get to know my 8-month old puppy before the first stay, making sure everything was set up for success and answering all my questions. Natasha’s passion for dogs truly shines through and I am impressed by her thoughtfulness to create a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment. My puppy had such a great time and came home happy & tired :)”

“We couldn’t be happier with Andrea’s care for our puppy! We didn’t have a good experience with our last sitter on Rover, so we were a bit nervous, but Andrea put us at ease right away. He was incredibly responsive, answering our messages quickly and keeping us updated throughout the day with pictures and notes about how Bobo was doing. It was clear that Andrea genuinely cared for Bobo and made sure he was comfortable and happy. We highly recommend Andrea to anyone looking for a responsible, attentive, and caring dog sitter.”

“I'm so happy I found Page to watch our puppy. She has a great sized back yard which I'm sure my puppy really enjoyed. Once I got home after picking up my puppy she slept for the rest of the day so I'm certain she had a good time and got taken care of very well.”
“Ariel was great to communicate with, kind, and accommodating. Thank you for taking care of Yumi and providing updates! I knew Yumi was well cared for and wouldn’t hesitate to book with Ariel again.”

“Lisa took great care of our pup! They even gave us some treats to take home. Our little one seemed to really enjoy his time with Lisa, and we will definitely book again in the future.”

“Carey and Kaja were absolutely amazing sitters for my dogs, Finley and Oliver! From the start, they were incredibly responsive and made me feel at ease leaving my pups in their care while my sister and I skied. They provided frequent updates, including pictures and messages, which reassured me that Finley and Oliver were happy, safe, and well cared for. It was clear they treated my dogs like their own, giving them plenty of love, attention, and exercise. When I picked them up, both dogs were relaxed and content—always a sign of a great sitter! I highly recommend Carey and Kaja to anyone looking for reliable, caring, and trustworthy dog sitters. I will definitely be booking with them again in the future!”

About: I grew up with animals all my life, living on a hobby farm on the Sunshine Coast (I'm in my mid-thirties now). As an adult, after dog sitting many times for family and friends, I finally got two beautiful fur babies of my own. Sadly, my older Bernese Golden Retriever passed rather suddenly of terminal cancer in the fall of 2024. Although heart breaking, the experience taught me so much about caring for an ailing or aging pet. I'm comortable caring for aging, injured or ill pets and will attend to their needs however is needed. Although I have never formally worked with animals at a vetinary clinic or training companies, I take great pride in how well behaved my pups are and are often complimented on it! I am living in Vancouver for the foreseeable future due to family health concerns, and won't be working during this time. Being a dog owner myself, I'm used to walking and exercising my pup multiple times and a day - rain, snow or sun! She is currently living with family and I miss her dearly. Ideally I am available after 9am and otherwise very flexible - however with advance notice I can be available for early morning walks or visits as well! My schedule is flexible and have very little planned for the summer, as I need to stay close to my family member in Vancouver who I live with and care for. If you need weekend care while you're away for trips I will be here! My Golden Mountain Dog, Hannah, was easy to train so I'm fortunate - she has great recall, walks alongside us, and does not approach other dogs too quickly (I trained her myself). I am happy to follow your guidance on how your pet is best walked and cared for. I would never approach other, new-to-us dogs too quickly, remove their leash unless you're comfortable with that - happy to do trips to off-leash parks or light hikes and trail walks, relaxing in the park etc. Have a vehicle and happy to drive to our favourite trails or dog friendly beaches with your permission! I typically use bells on my bernese for any off-leash trail walks and ensure our pup is always in sight of me, although I know she has good recall I don't know what kind of other animals and dogs she will encounter so I am always nearby. If you are not comfortable with your dog going off leash, I am available for lengthy walks to exercise them and will follow your instructions. I only change the tone of my voice for scolding, and reward good behavior with treats. I create neutral space with new dogs that don't seem too excited to meet me, allowing them to come to me and won't pressure them with treats or force affection on them. An animals trust must be earned. On hot summer days, I always have water with and ensure we spend time in the shade (bringing a shade tent with if necessary). Pets are allowed on my furniture in my apartment, however if you don't allow them on yours at home I will maintain consistency!
“Thanks for being flexible with our schedule! Sherri came back tired and ready to sleep - seemed like she had a great day playing with her new friends! We'll definitely be in touch in the future.”

“Lovely couple! They are obviously pet lovers! I’m drawn to their calm and kind demeanor. Mo is usually unsure of new people but he approached them after a few minutes. Lots and patient and calm interactions which Mo prefers. Nothing but positive vibes from this couple. Thank you Hector and Jeanette!”

Dominique took wonderful care of our puppy, Khaya❤️ This was our first time leaving her with someone new, but Dominique made us feel completely at ease. She provided regular updates with photos and it was clear she genuinely cared about making sure Khaya felt safe, comfortable, and happy!! Khaya had an amazing time with her and came home happy and relaxed. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely trust Dominique with Khaya again. Highly recommend!

The greatest pet sitters we have ever had! Both Olesia and Katya are incredibly professional, patient, and caring. They have such a genuine love for furry creatures and always treat pets with kindness, attention, and care. We always feel confident knowing our pets are in such loving and capable hands. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, responsible, and compassionate pet sitters! Looking forward to book new services with them. Thank you so much! Cheers, Laura, Yury & Foster

I can’t recommend Vicky enough! Leaving Cookie with someone new has always been something I was nervous about, even though she’s a friendly, well-balanced dog who loves people and other dogs. From the moment I met Vicky, I could tell she genuinely loves and understands dogs. She was incredibly caring, patient, and experienced, and she treated Cookie like one of her own. I especially appreciated that she sent regular updates and photos without me ever having to ask—it gave me so much peace of mind knowing Cookie was happy and well cared for. The best proof of how amazing Vicky is? When I came to pick Cookie up, she didn’t even want to leave! 😂 That says everything. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Vicky again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and genuinely caring dog sitter.

This was Wallace’s first day care visit and I’m so happy it was with Mariana! Comms and updates were top tier as well. Wallace had such a wonderful time and when we picked him up he had a huge smile on his face! Will definitely be trusting Mariana with Wallace again. Xx

Thank you Carey for looking after our dog Carly this afternoon. Carey is very professional and kind. Our dog needs exercise and she is also quite needy. Carey understood this immediately. We appreciate her meeting us as we are visiting and don’t have a car to drop off our dog. We had a lovely bike ride around Vancouver today. Highly recommend Carey. Next time we are in town we will definitely give her a call. Thank you

Ariel was so great. I was going to a concert and was nervous to leave my little guy home for too long, and booking with her made it all so much smoother. She sent me consistent photos through the night, was prompt in responding to messages, and made me and my guy feel very comfortable. I would def book with her again!

Marina and her partner — both were fantastic with the two day doggy daycare of my two boys Shorty & Petey. The boys enjoyed walks, play time, and most importantly lots of cuddles. Shorty is 15 yo, deaf and anxious and Marina took extra care and attention with him to soothe his needs. Will definitely book again. ☺️

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Vancouver commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
