“Anne (and Macy) were great ! We had a meet and greet visit and left feeling confident that Deuce would be in good hands. We may need a couple of more trial sessions before both the dogs are comfortable. Definitely recommend Anne - you can see her genuine care and love for animals.”

“I am so grateful I found Shelley. After we did a pre-meet, Rex did a full 12 hour day with Shelley, and by the time Rex came home, he could barely keep his eyes open. She has a great space with lots of trail access behind. Seems like Rex had a great time and I will definitely be using Shelley’s service again! Thank you!”

“It was our first time with Oriana, and she was amazing! She sent me videos, photos, and updates throughout the day, so I was sure that Emilia was well cared for and had a great time. Oriana and her husband spent a lot of time playing with her, and it was clear that Emilia felt happy and comfortable. We truly appreciate the love and attention they gave her and will definitely book with her again”

About: With over 5 years of hands-on experience helping care for my sister's fur baby and supporting friends with their pets, I've developed a deep understanding of what it takes to keep fur babies happy, healthy, and loved. I also volunteer with a local pet therapy organization, which has taught me the importance of patience, gentle care, and understanding each pet’s unique personality and needs. I'm currently home full-time, super flexible! Which means I can offer your pets the attention and care they deserve—whether you're at work or away on vacation. I understand that every dog has their own unique personality, so paying close attention to their behavior is very important during walks! My condo is also very pet-friendly, so please let me know if your pup is comfortable sharing the elevator with other fur babies.
“Viktoryia provided our XXL puppy with daycare. She took him walking which he loves and helps with his young mental and physical energies. She communicated on Rover before and during the reservation as well as sent pictures and an update on the daycare day which we appreciated. Thank you.”

“Sunny is always great with Churro! She consistently sends updates and pictures and is very transparent and communicative. I always feel confident leaving Churro in her care.”

About: I grew up with several cats and 3 German Shepherds in my family. Now I have 2 fur babies, a Corgi and a rescue dog - who I trained and raised from little puppies. But at the moment they're in Hong Kong with my parents as my current living + work situation in Vancouver doesn't quite allow for me to take close care of them in the way they deserve (apartment, a lot of travel etc.) I'm the primary sitter but my husband is an animal doctor so he's a great contact to have on hand! I run my own business and work from home, so my schedule is generally pretty flexible. I very much miss my dogs' company so I'd love to take care of yours when I'm available to! I'm able to come and stay for short stays with your pet - play, train, take them on walks as wanted and needed. I'm also more than happy to share lots of photos and keep in close contact when house-sitting.
“My dog can be nervous around new people and he warmed right up to Tanya. Thank you for making him (and me!) feel comfortable. I greatly appreciated the photo updates too!”

“Milo had such a great time! Thank you again, David, Fay, and Olivia, for taking such good care of him, it was lovely meeting you in person. We really appreciated the updates and photos throughout the day, they gave us so much peace of mind. He must’ve had an amazing time with the walk and all the play, he’s been totally zonked out since we got home 😅💤 Looking forward to the next visit. Thanks again for everything!”

“Jennifer was very kind and caring, she asked everything about our dog and respected his schedule very carefully and sent us multiple pictures! Her golden retriever also was super sweet and friendly with our dog! Highly recommended!”

“Olga and her family provided great care for Nala. They were very prompt and responsive. They provided regular updates with pictures and videos which was very helpful. I would recommend Olga to anyone looking for a great caring family for their pets.”

“Thank you so much for looking after Milo today! He came home happy and relaxed. We really appreciated the updates and photos throughout the day too, it gave us so much peace of mind 😊 We’d definitely love to book again next time!”

“We have been very happy to have met Valerie to look after our Milo. She is kind and responsible and very good with him overall. We trust her fully and would highly recommend her.”

“Brianna and Sukh took such good care of our little girl Dolly over the past couple days. They gave her their full attention and she came home a happy gal each day. So happy to have found them locally here. Dolly is looking forward to her next chance to visit!”

“Britt was amazing. We got stuck in getting back to pick Rufus up and she was so accommodating and that we are so grateful. She kept us up to date with photos throughout the day which we loved. Cannot recommend Britt enough! Thank you again”

“Alexi and Daryl were amazing with Mona! They gave me regular updates and it was clear they truly cared about her well-being. She came home happy and relaxed. Highly recommend!”

“Dawn was lovely to coordinate with and very welcoming and professional during our meet and greet and eventual stay. Her dog was a leading example for our puppy to learn from and play with too! Would definitely recommend that you book her and will be using her services again!”

I’m so happy to see that my little puppy enjoyed his first-ever daycare experience! Jacob took such great care of my puppy, and his dog was so welcoming and helped my puppy socialize. They played and even slept together while Jacob was taking care of them, which made me feel very comfortable and satisfied. My puppy didn’t even want to go home with me after spending only six hours there! I think that really shows how happy and comfortable he felt in Jacob’s care. Thank you so much, Jacob, for giving my puppy such a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely book again soon for more happy daycare days!

Thank you Ahla for taking such great care of our young Doberman Kaizer! I know he had a wonderful time with you, as he came home feeling completely relaxed and ready for a nap haha! I appreciate your punctuality, communication with us, and your positive feedback at the end of the day.

Sami and Kate are incredible. From the very first minute, they were so friendly and caring with Combi. They kept us updated with photos of her eating, going for walks, and sleeping. Their communication was excellent, and when we picked Combi up, she looked very happy.

Toby had a wonderful experience. He was treated with so much care and patience, and I felt completely at ease while he was in their care. They were kind, attentive, and maintained great communication throughout his stay. It’s clear that they truly love dogs and genuinely care about their well-being. I would definitely trust them to take care of Toby again. Thank you so much for everything!

My dog always has a great time with Klen and her dog Sugar! My boy is quite the big fella who also has anxiety, so having someone as confident and safe like Klen to look after my sweet boy relieves a tremendous amount of stress. If I ever need someone to watch over my furbaby where I’m not able to, I can absolutely count on Klen!

Kyuho and his wife always welcome our dog with so much warmth. They take great care of her with overflowing energy and kindness — and when I reached out last-minute because I had to take my daughter to the hospital, they accepted the daycare request quickly and without hesitation. I was able to handle everything without worrying about Loha for a second. Having Gyuho in the neighborhood is truly a blessing.

Riley was an amazing sitter for my puppy Peaches! Peaches had so much fun playing with her dog Abby, walking, and chilling out. Riley sent lots of updates throughout the day. Peaches came home very happy and worn out, ready for a nap. Will definitely rebook! :)

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Port Moody commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
