“It was a bit nerve-racking leaving our 10 week old behind, but Leigh and her entire family are amazing! I can tell our little guy had so much fun! Without hesitation, Leigh will be our go to every time we can’t bring our pup along.”

“Because it was a first time for Kyu to be with a new pet sitter and staying in unknown place, we worried a bit if she could enjoy there. But it seemed she was doing alright. Thanks to Isabelle!”

“Rena was very accommodating to my 3 months old puppy. Almond is timid around other dogs but got along really well with her dog Cookie! I was very nervous since this is my first time leaving Almond alone but Rena sent me photos and updates throughout the day. Will definitely come back!”

“I am so grateful I found Shelley. After we did a pre-meet, Rex did a full 12 hour day with Shelley, and by the time Rex came home, he could barely keep his eyes open. She has a great space with lots of trail access behind. Seems like Rex had a great time and I will definitely be using Shelley’s service again! Thank you!”

“Paniz and Saeir were amazing with Finnigan!! I got lots of photo updates throughout the day and at our meet and greet they had such a gentle approach with him which my anxious guy definitely needed. I will definitely be asking them to watch him again!”

“Toby had a wonderful experience. He was treated with so much care and patience, and I felt completely at ease while he was in their care. They were kind, attentive, and maintained great communication throughout his stay. It’s clear that they truly love dogs and genuinely care about their well-being. I would definitely trust them to take care of Toby again. Thank you so much for everything!”

“Tanya was absolutely lovely, had great quick communication and sent lots of photos and updates throughout the day. Appreciate her for getting us in last minute and for a long day 🥰”

“This was my first time using the app and the first time leaving my fur baby with a stranger. I was skeptic but Viktoriia was very reassuring that her experience with dogs was one I could trust. She checked in with pictures which made me feel at ease. Definitely will continue using her services whenever I need it.”

About: Save $20 with this link if you’re new to Rover: https://www.rover.com/sit/reneec27232 Hi, I’m Renee 👋 I provide reliable house sitting and drop-in visits so your pet can stay comfortable in their own home. I offer calm, attentive care with photo updates every visit, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. Animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with two English Cocker Spaniels and a cat, and I also helped care for my grandma’s senior dog, which taught me patience and attentiveness from a young age. I ensure your furry family members receive personalized, loving care based on their routines and personalities. I’m especially comfortable with cats of all temperaments, whether they’re social or more reserved, and I always tailor my care to meet each pet’s unique needs. I’m currently not working, so I’m available for boarding or dog-walking any day at any time. Whether you need someone for a drop-in visit or extended care, I’m flexible and ready to provide the attention and care your pets deserve. I only take one pet at a time. Living in a house with a yard. Lots of trails nearby. I can walk your fur baby daily or let them play in the yard with fence. Safety is my priority!!
“Justine had our pup for daycare and did fantastic with him, being sure to meet his needs while having fun! We had regular updates and a lovely report card of Max. The environment was great and Justine has a loving, caring personality making sure Max was comfortable and happy all day. I would definitely recommend her for daycare.”

“Sunny took care of Scotty for the day and did a fantastic job! Kept us updated throughout the day, sent photos and also fed and walked him. Scotty looked very comfortable and content. We recommend Sunny & ZhiYi’s services and we’d definitely booked again. Thank you!”

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life for many years. I raised my two beloved dogs, Polo, a miniature American Eskimo, and TaiTai, a Pomeranian, from the time they were puppies until they reached the wonderful ages of 17 and 16. They passed on within the last year, and I feel incredibly lucky to have shared so many years and stages of life with them. 🩷 Caring for them throughout their lives, and especially during their senior years, gave me a great deal of hands-on experience. I prepared all of their meals at home, managed their medication schedules and regular veterinary care, and supported them through mobility changes with physiotherapy, acupuncture and laser therapy. Even as they got older, I made sure they continued enjoying plenty of fresh air through walks, stroller outings and time outdoors. Over the years, I also became very tuned in to canine body language and the little signals dogs give us. I tend to notice when a dog is feeling nervous, uncomfortable, overstimulated, tired or simply needs a little more space and reassurance. Every dog has their own personality, and I believe the best care comes from paying attention and adjusting to what helps that particular dog feel safe and comfortable. 🐾😊 🩷 I only care for one small dog at a time, so your dog will be my one special guest and will receive my full attention, care and companionship throughout their stay. I welcome small adult dogs and gentle seniors of all breeds. I generally accept dogs up to approximately 20 pounds, although I may consider a slightly larger dog depending on their temperament and needs. For safety, I do not accept puppies under 10 months old.🩷 I work from home and am home most of the time, so caring for a dog fits very naturally into my daily routine. I only board one dog at a time and currently have no pets of my own, so your dog will have my full attention and all the care, companionship and affection I have to give during their stay. 😊 Their day can include regular bathroom breaks, walks, sniffing time outdoors, playtime, quiet time beside me while I work, and plenty of rest. Some dogs enjoy longer walks and exploring, while others, especially seniors, are happier with shorter outings and a slower pace. I am happy to adjust the amount of activity based on your dog’s age, energy level, mobility and normal routine.🐾 Your dog will have the run of the home and can follow me around, relax nearby while I work, play with their favourite toys or curl up wherever they feel most comfortable. I will also keep their meals, walks, bathroom breaks and bedtime routine as close as possible to what they are used to at home 🩷 Your dog will have the run of my home and will be treated like a little member of the household 🩷 Because I only board one dog at a time, my home stays quiet and peaceful, and I am able to give close attention to their comfort, eating, drinking, bathroom habits and behaviour throughout their stay. Whenever possible, I prefer to arrange a meet & greet before the first booking. This gives your dog a chance to meet me and explore the environment while you are still there. Dogs do not always understand why their person is leaving them somewhere new so I feel that a little familiarity beforehand can make the handoff less confusing and help them settle more comfortably. 😊🩷 It also gives us time to talk about your dog’s personality, routine, fears, habits, food needs and any special instructions. I will follow your care instructions closely and provide regular photos and updates so you can feel comfortable while you are away. 🩷
About: I have been a dog trainer for the past 26 years and I have had pets all my life. I know how important it is to find someone reliable to take care of your pet while you are at work, or away. I have had my fare share of dog walkers cancelling at the last minute so I know the frustration with finding a reliable and responsible person. I am now 50 years old and will be there for your dog or cat, as agreed and as needed. I recently lost my big Rhodesian Ridgeback. We hiked every day for his ten year life. He was a well trained (by me) but spoiled boy who slept in my bed and was allowed on the sofa. I would treat yours based on your own rules but they would be loved and completely cared for. I find myself not wanting another dog of my own just yet but wanting to take care of others while I have the time. * Doggy day care max 8 hrs * House sit at your home two dogs max * Boarding in my home 1 dog max at a time except in special circumstances * Dog walking one hour up to 3 dogs max * Home visits 20-30 minutes My schedule is open but new dogs I will book solo so we get to know each other first. I can do day or evening walks, any day of the week. Boarding at my home would consist of walking your dog twice daily everyday, right now I am only booking boarding for one dog at a time except in special circumstances. Can do stays or sits in your home for two dogs max. I have a very large home in Westwood Plateau. I have a fenced yard that we can hang out in after our walks, which would usually be in the forest where they can be on or off leash once we get to know each other.
“I can’t say enough good things about these two. My partner and I are obsessed with our dog and consequentially want him to be in the best care. He seemed beyond happy with them and I loved all the updates. Definitely recommend these two to anyone and everyone!!”

“Cookie and Cream had a great day with Sami and Kate! Sami is so kind with them and shared pictures and videos throughout their day together. I highly recommend them! Thank you for taking care of our babies!”

“Koa enjoyed his first day of daycare with Marlene! She provided pictures & videos throughout the day which was much appreciated as it was his first day. I will be definitely be using Marlene again! Highly recommend her!!”

“Such great pet sitter :))) gloria was very communicative and kind. We had a facetime call before initially meeting properly and i knew that my dog would be okay while i was gone.”

“Priya was very nice with them. Did her best to make my dogs feel comfortable and break the ice. I was really anxious about leaving them with a dog sitter since they usually stay with friends, so I left them for few hours with Priya as a trial. It turned out great. They did so well with her. I’ll be leaving them with her for 3 nights in coming weeks.”

Riley was an amazing sitter for my puppy Peaches! Peaches had so much fun playing with her dog Abby, walking, and chilling out. Riley sent lots of updates throughout the day. Peaches came home very happy and worn out, ready for a nap. Will definitely rebook! :)

Julia is friendly and flexible! She has taken care of my baby multiple times while I am at work. She sends me lots of photos and updates. My baby feels safe around her that every picture she sends me, he looks happy and comfortable. That's the best thing you want as a dog parent. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter.
Kerry took great care of Indie and they really looked after her and her needs. We had plenty of updates throughout the day which we really appreciated. They were patient with her as she’s a little anxious and shy at first, but it was great for her to have lovely Mochi to play with too - hopefully they’ll soon become good friends! We will ask them to look after Indie again and recommend them to all.

First time for our Tessie to be with a sitter and she really enjoyed her stay! Jen is very pleasant, trustworthy and kind. Tessie also really enjoyed the attention from the girls. The photos were appreciated and we look forward to another stay. Thanks so much.

Tracey is an amazing dog sitter. It was Loki's first experience to stay with the new people and we were more than lucky to have Tracey to host him. I believe it was one of the best days in Loki's life. He has got so much care , attention and kindness from Tracey and her husband Matt. They have a lovely place and 2 sweet dogs of their own. Thank you so much!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Anmore commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
