“Hujan was so happy at Lu’s. He loved to play in her yard and with her own dog. He had the biggest smile both when we picked him up and in the photos Lu sent us. We received multiple updates throughout the day, which we very much appreciated. We will absolutely be booking with Lu again!”

“Christina was so great with our little puppy! Very responsive and sent regular updates, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Christina and look forward to booking her services again soon.”

“As first time users of Rover, we were pleased that Deborah and Mark immediately accepted our request to take care of Harper, our Golden Retriever, in their home for four hours while we attended a family event. Harper settled right away in their home and fenced backyard, and we felt comfortable leaving him in their care. We were pleased with photos they sent to us during his stay. We would gladly rebook with Deborah & Mark in the future and recommend them to others.”

About: I’ve been providing day care, boarding, walks, bathroom and water breaks for dogs of all dispositions and needs for over 8 years now. I have experience with dogs who are reactive, disabled, elderly, grumpy, easy going, good on leash, terrible on leash, love other dogs, hate other dogs and everything in between! I am skilled at reading dog behaviour and energy shifts, and anticipating and diffusing undesirable interactions between dogs. I will provide continuity with training goals and language if that’s where you’re at, and I have experience with dogs with medical conditions who need some extra help and lots of patience. I have several long term clients and can happily provide references. Canine care is my full time job, and I take it very seriously. I am accommodating, flexible and responsive, and can work with you to come up with a schedule that works for you and your pup. From one offs and last minute requests, to long term, predictable scheduling, I’m just happy to get to spend time with your pup! I am canine first aid certified, and I’m cautious and caring. I’m attentive on walks (I’m familiar with the tries-to-eat-everything and the makes-it-weird-on-leash variety of dog), and I’m tuned in and present when dogs are in my home (I’m also familiar with the counter-surfing, toy shredding, sock eating variety of dog). I have a dedicated basement suite that is set up to be a safe and comfortable pup haven, with easy access to a large, securely fenced backyard. Whether your pup is a couch dog, floor dog, crate dog or bed dog, I have all the surfaces. I’m present with the dogs when they’re in my home, and provide a loving space and as many ear/chin/head/belly/butt scratches as your dog could possibly want!
About: I have experience caring for both large and small dogs, including senior dogs who need a little extra attention and medication administration. My home is pet-free, ensuring a calm and comfortable environment for your pup. I work part-time from home with a flexible schedule, allowing me to give your pets plenty of attention throughout the day. As an active person, I walk daily, so your dog will enjoy regular outdoor time. I’m available for overnight boarding, including weekends, or just dog walking—whatever fits your needs best. While I live in a townhouse without a backyard, I’m located near walking trails and can take your pet out regularly for potty breaks. They’ll have full access to our home, and I also have space for a crate if that’s part of their routine.
“Heather was great. She is genuinely loving towards Cocoa and provided pictures, videos and text updates frequently. We were very happy to leave our dog with her. She took her out for two walks as well. Overall a great experience 👍”

“Absolutely amazing! Tucker was a little anxious at first as he usually is but Tamara and her partner Jeff were able to guide Tucker to feeling more comfortable. The second day we took him there he went without hesitation. Tamara was super flexible and had amazing communication. She sent lots of photos and updates. She made sure he was well taken care of and comfortable. Tucker played lots and lots with their dog Yogi and it was a fantastic fit.”

About: I work in an animal hospital and have hands-on experience with pets of all ages, including senior and anxious animals. I’m comfortable giving medications, recognizing early signs of illness, and providing calm, gentle care. What sets me apart is my attention to detail and ability to understand each pet’s needs. I treat every pet like my own and always prioritize their safety and comfort 💛 I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so you feel at ease while you’re away. Right now, I’m available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays 🐾 If you let me know 1–2 weeks in advance, I’m happy to adjust my schedule and open up more days! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where they can feel relaxed and secure. I always follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible; including feeding schedules, walks, and any specific instructions. I make sure pets are never left unattended for long periods and always keep a close eye on their behavior and well-being. With my experience working in an animal hospital, I’m confident in recognizing any signs of stress or illness early and responding appropriately. I’m also comfortable administering medications if needed. In your home, I treat your space with the utmost respect and keep everything clean, safe, and exactly as you left it. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away 💛
About: I worked at animal emerge clinic of the Fraser Valley for almost 4 years and I love taking care of animals and giving them the love that they deserve. I can be pretty flexible but I am a dancer and this is what my schedule is like for right now Sundays 5:00pm-9:00pm, Wednesday 6:30-9:30pm, Thursdays 3:30, 5:00pm and Fridays 7:00pm-10pm. I can be pretty flexible and whatever your needs are for your pets. I will always do my best to make sure your dog is looked after.
“Karina has become one of Summer’s favorite people, which really shows how well she’s cared for. She looked after Summer twice a week this April and even taught her some cute tricks. She’s incredibly reliable with early drop-offs and pick-ups and is always quick to respond. I feel totally at peace whenever Summer is with her.”

“Priya was very nice with them. Did her best to make my dogs feel comfortable and break the ice. I was really anxious about leaving them with a dog sitter since they usually stay with friends, so I left them for few hours with Priya as a trial. It turned out great. They did so well with her. I’ll be leaving them with her for 3 nights in coming weeks.”

“Very responsive dog sitter, he constantly updated to me of what and how my dog is doing! Will definitely choose this day care again and the price is very reasonable! I also love how my dog gets to walk trail with other dogs instead of staying indoor.”

“Shivani and her husband took real care of my puppy and he was super happy and really enjoyed his stay at their house.. lucky and maive got along really well and glad that my puppy got a buddy to play with..”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Pitt Meadows
Lu was so accommodating with my last minute request. You can tell she loves all the dogs so much and Penny had the BEST time at her place with all her new furry friends and in such a big backyard (and inside with AC). If you’re in Maple Ridge or need a sitter in the area while you’re out at the parks/lakes - highly recommend!

Lu is an incredibly professional and patient caregiver. Her dog is also absolutely adorable and very gentle, which made the environment even more comfortable. My dog is an energetic male Golden Retriever who gets excited very easily, and during the few hours he stayed at Lu’s place, she consistently sent me photo and video updates. I could clearly see how happy he was, freely releasing his energy and having a great time in her home. When I picked him up, he was completely tired out, in the best way, which was such a pleasant surprise. What truly touched me was how attentive Lu is. She remembered every single thing I mentioned about my dog’s needs and things to watch out for, even details I only brought up briefly during our rushed first meeting. That level of care and thoughtfulness really meant a lot to me. It was a wonderful daycare experience for both my dog and me. I would absolutely recommend Lu to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving caregiver.

- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Pitt Meadows commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
