“As first time users of Rover, we were pleased that Deborah and Mark immediately accepted our request to take care of Harper, our Golden Retriever, in their home for four hours while we attended a family event. Harper settled right away in their home and fenced backyard, and we felt comfortable leaving him in their care. We were pleased with photos they sent to us during his stay. We would gladly rebook with Deborah & Mark in the future and recommend them to others.”

“Heather was great. She is genuinely loving towards Cocoa and provided pictures, videos and text updates frequently. We were very happy to leave our dog with her. She took her out for two walks as well. Overall a great experience 👍”

“Catherine and her husband were so kind and caring to our little teddy. Teddy seemed to really enjoy dog Bella. My husband and I had a few hours to ourselves, knowing Teddy was in good care. When we picked him up,Teddy was happy and we could tell he had a good visit. I will most definitely book Catherine again I. The near future.”

“Iona was so fantastic with our 6 month old puppy. She managed medications, feeding schedules, swinging activity levels and kept our home clean during it all. She was also great with communication. Thanks Iona!”

“We had such a positive experience booking daycare with Lu! Our dog, Gus, enjoyed himself so much playing with the other dogs -and we knew he was in good hands. We appreciated the photos/videos and updates throughout the day and the pick up/drop off process was seamless. Gus can’t wait to go back! :)”

About: I worked at animal emerge clinic of the Fraser Valley for almost 4 years and I love taking care of animals and giving them the love that they deserve. I am pretty flexible right now, I start dance again in September so I will update this when I know my schedule a little bit better. BUT just message me and usually I can make it work if I don’t have any other house settings going on. I can be pretty flexible and whatever your needs are for your pets. I will always do my best to make sure your dog is looked after.
About: We’re a caring, animal-loving family, and dogs have always been part of our home. We have two friendly, well-socialized dogs who get along well with other dogs. We treat every pet like family and provide a safe, loving environment where your dog will feel comfortable, cared for, and right at home. I’m available to care for your pet any day, any time. I follow your pet’s regular feeding schedule and provide frequent potty breaks, with outdoor opportunities every two hours or as needed, to keep them happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I have a fully fenced yard and two friendly dogs to keep your pup company. My dogs are crate-trained and are only crated when left home alone. I’m happy to follow your dog’s routine and crating preferences to help them feel safe and comfortable during their stay.
“Excellent with our Pippin! I was super nervous about leaving him in any doggy daycare but Tony made sure we felt comfortable with the process! Will definitely be back.”

“My yo-yo is a three month puppy, I had an emergency and I appreciated Wei took my last minute request . I was so anxious at first. But Wei sent pictures and videos constantly. It is so reassuring. It is not easy to take care of a baby, but they are amazing! They took her out every two hours, played with her, be her company all the time. yoyo even learned to walk stairs! Their house is so clean and beautiful . Yo-yo loves their park-like backyard! Highly recommend!!”

“Anne (and Macy) were great ! We had a meet and greet visit and left feeling confident that Deuce would be in good hands. We may need a couple of more trial sessions before both the dogs are comfortable. Definitely recommend Anne - you can see her genuine care and love for animals.”

“I am so grateful I found Shelley. After we did a pre-meet, Rex did a full 12 hour day with Shelley, and by the time Rex came home, he could barely keep his eyes open. She has a great space with lots of trail access behind. Seems like Rex had a great time and I will definitely be using Shelley’s service again! Thank you!”

“Milo had such a great time! Thank you again, David, Fay, and Olivia, for taking such good care of him, it was lovely meeting you in person. We really appreciated the updates and photos throughout the day, they gave us so much peace of mind. He must’ve had an amazing time with the walk and all the play, he’s been totally zonked out since we got home 😅💤 Looking forward to the next visit. Thanks again for everything!”

“It was our first time with Oriana, and she was amazing! She sent me videos, photos, and updates throughout the day, so I was sure that Emilia was well cared for and had a great time. Oriana and her husband spent a lot of time playing with her, and it was clear that Emilia felt happy and comfortable. We truly appreciate the love and attention they gave her and will definitely book with her again”

About: I grew up with several cats and 3 German Shepherds in my family. Now I have 2 fur babies, a Corgi and a rescue dog - who I trained and raised from little puppies. But at the moment they're in Hong Kong with my parents as my current living + work situation in Vancouver doesn't quite allow for me to take close care of them in the way they deserve (apartment, a lot of travel etc.) I'm the primary sitter but my husband is an animal doctor so he's a great contact to have on hand! I run my own business and work from home, so my schedule is generally pretty flexible. I very much miss my dogs' company so I'd love to take care of yours when I'm available to! I'm able to come and stay for short stays with your pet - play, train, take them on walks as wanted and needed. I'm also more than happy to share lots of photos and keep in close contact when house-sitting.

Gina took fantastic care of Luca for the day! I really appreciated the updates and photos throughout the day—it gave me total peace of mind. Luca came home happy, well-exercised, and relaxed. I would definitely recommend Gina and look forward to booking with them again!

Erika was absolutely lovely. Detail oriented, gave great updates, sent photos, lots of potty breaks and very attentive. She noticed how Sherru was feeling and helped him feel more comfortable over the stay. She was so flexible and helpful. Will definitely be booking again.
I can’t say enough good things about Debbie and her family. She is compassionate, caring, thoughtful, fun, and energetic. My Corgi puppy, Eleanor, can’t wait to get to the front door when we arrive at her place. Debbie takes Eleanor on walks (she has a nice tree-lined trail by her place), plays with her in the doggy pool when it’s hot, and lets us bring Eleanor’s sandbox to dig in. Her place is clean and organized. She has space to keep Eleanor separate from the cats if she won’t leave them alone, and she has gates to allow Eleanor access to a nice backyard area from the front of her place. Debbie is truly an animal lover. Eleanor gets spoiled with her homemade dog food as a topper on her kibble when she’s there and I feel that she’s in the hands of someone who really cares about her wellbeing. We are so grateful to have found Debbie on Rover. Thank you <3

Xiaoyan was nice! I think it was her and her husband who helped with my pup. He was a little nervous the first time, but was excited to go back the second time! Got lots of updates. The only thing I noticed was that he was still pretty hyper afterward; usually he’s tired after being with a pet sitter.

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Walnut Grove commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
