About: I have taken care of a few dachshunds and miniature pinchers for friends and family for about 6 years. Feeding, walking, and playing with them. I have grown up with cats as well. I believe that it is important to take each pet's individual personality and preferences into account when caring for them. I have experience with dogs with disabilities, more specifically I have been taking care of a dachshund with IVDD for 2 years, helping him get around and giving medication. He had 4 spinal surgeries over the past 2 years. I currently work for Rocky Mountaineer train, which is a seasonal job (April until mid October). I work from Friday to Monday. My open availability will be every Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. I own a pet ramp for easy access to furniture that is accessible to small or disabled animals. If your pet needs medication, I encourage a detailed instructive list on how to make your pet as comfortable as possible for a swift recovery. Over all, my main goal is to make your pet feel safe and happy when the owner is away. I have 2 years experience with disabled dogs.
About: I grew up with two dogs, two cats and 5 reptiles, and have always loved animals! Now, I have three dogs of my own, all rescued. I've gained a lot of experience training my dogs myself, but I've also worked with a number of professional trainers who specialize in dog behaviour and reactivity. This experience has not only helped me better understand and manage my own dogs' behaviour, it has also led me to find my passion for working with animals and their humans to help them live their best lives together! I have completed The Dog Walker Certificate and The Daycare & Boarding Management Certificate through The Good Dog in Port Moody and believe in positive reinforcement training. It's important to me that your dog always feels safe in my care. I also love taking photos, especially of dogs, and have worked with local rescues to photograph some adoption events. Please let me know if you're interested in a pup portrait so I can bring my camera along on our adventures! (1 free pet portrait with a professional camera per walk booked) I'm currently doing shift work and have a very flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate for your dogs needs! I will have my calendar updated but feel free to message me as I might be able to accommodate one walk on some days I work! At this time I can't take care of dogs in my own home as one of my dogs is reactive to new dogs. But I'm happy to do drop in visits! Whatever the dog needs during the drop-in whether that's that's medication administration, feeding or just a snuggle on the couch!
“Deb and Mark are great! I feel at ease when they come and care for my little luv bug Oscar. This is day 2 of walks and he comes home tuckered out so I know he got his exercise and had a great time. Love that Deb and Mark are local. Thank you again :)”

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and have 4 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs. Raising my own reactive quarantine pup taught me patience, structure, and positive reinforcement. I helped her become calmer and more comfortable around people, animals, and busy environments through consistent socialization and exposure training. I’m attentive to each dog’s unique personality and committed to providing a safe, loving, and comfortable environment while you’re away. I am currently working part-time while focusing on online classes, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive pet care. I prioritize keeping pets comfortable by following their normal routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions provided by owners. I always make sure pets have fresh water, a clean environment, and lots of attention while in my care.
“I had an amazing experience using Rover thanks to Shadnay! My dog Lucy isn’t the easiest, but Shadnay was absolutely incredible with her. She’s so patient, thoughtful, and clearly has a natural way with animals. I felt completely at ease knowing Lucy was in such good hands. Highly, highly recommend booking with Shadnay if you get the chance!”

“Randona has been amazing with my dog. She writes very detailed notes about their walks and it is very obvious she genuinely loves dogs. Archie is very excited whenever he sees Randona so obvious he adores her and their walks too!”

“Viktoriia was amazing for us. We have a black lab puppy who is 10 months and full of beans. They came early in the am took him for a hour walk and Ruggie came home with no beans left. It is an essential service as my partner broke his back and I need to be in the office in the early am. 10/10 and will book again!”

“Caroline was very communicative, came by for a meet and greet before our first walk, and took time to ask questions all about our pup’s preferences. In the walk day she sent update pictures and pup came home happy, and ready for a good afternoon nap.”

“Amara was amazing! She's so friendly and energetic, perfect match for our boy. Took good care of him, provided plenty of photos, went above and beyond. These busy parents will definitely be booking again!”

“Jenny is incredible. I am lucky to find someone who is reliable and who I can trust. She always takes good care of my dog Charlie! Charlie cannot wait to see her when she comes! I highly recommend her service!”

About: I have experience caring for dogs for friends and family who trust me to walk, feed, and look after their pets when they are busy. I enjoy giving dogs calm, focused attention and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. Since I don’t have other pets at home, I’m able to provide one-on-one care during walks and visits without distractions. Starting September 21, I’ll be available for dog walking and drop-in visits Monday through Friday, from mornings until 6 PM. I have flexible daytime availability on weekdays and will do my best to accommodate your preferred time. To allow enough time for scheduling, please reach out at least two days in advance of the day you need the service. If you need to cancel, I would appreciate at least one day’s notice whenever possible. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed in their familiar environment. I carefully follow the owner’s instructions for feeding, walks, and routines, and I always give pets calm, attentive care and plenty of attention during each visit.
About: Hey there, I'm Pietra and I'm a huge animal lover. I have a cat of my own but I've also taken care of a crow, parrots, a turtle, and rats. One day I hope to care for a variety of other pets such as spiders, snakes, a large variety of reptiles, cats galore so if anyone has any special pets that have trouble finding someone to care for them, I'm more than happy to come take care of them. It would help me as much as it may help you :) I've worked in the pet retail industry for 3 years now and have a huge amount of knowledge to help take care of your pet when you're away. I'm currently enrolled in school so to come back to a furry friend always makes my day!! So if you ever need someone I'm your gal 😊 I believe that having an emotional connection with animals is so important. Not all of them are comfortable with new people and I want to be able to create that bond of safety and friendship to make sure they aren't as anxious when their family is away!
“Emma walked our dog Summer while we were on vacation. Excellent communication, reliable and trustworthy. It was a stress free experience and Summer was happy and healthy when we arrived home. Positive all round experience.”

“Shivoun was great at communicating - sending multiple updates including pics/vids. She was very capable in dealing with simba who can be very reactive. I booked shivoun super last minute but she was still very accomodating to my schedule! I would definitely book her as our rover again when the chance comes :)”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Walnut Grove
We’ve had such a great experience Jamie! Maru can be a little particular and needs someone who is patient and understanding with her, and we’ve been really happy with how comfortable she is with Jamie. She is reliable, caring, and attentive to Maru’s needs, and it gives us so much peace of mind knowing that Maru is in good hands. We also really appreciate the updates after her walks. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with, and we’re so happy we found her. Highly recommend!

This is our second time hiring Randona to walk our dogs while we’ve been on vacation. She is trustworthy, reliable, our dogs absolutely love her and we know the dogs will be well taken care of under her watch! The daily reports and pictures are very appreciated and give us peace of mind. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable dog walker! Thanks so much Randona!

Michelle is highly competent and truly the real deal! She has a Type-A, go-getter spirit and was ahead of things before we even mentioned them. She offered extra help with the dogs, like filling their water bowls, and even had thoughtful ideas to support one of my pups with mobility issues. She was punctual, reliable, and honest in doing exactly what she said she would. I really appreciate her initiative and care. My dogs are already starting to adore her, and I absolutely would hire her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Walnut Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
