About: Hello there, I am excited to have your dog stay will me. I am committed to making your dog feel safe and loved. I will treat your dog like it was my own and follow your care instructions fully. I have a friendly beagle who would be a wonderful companion for your dog as they stay and help them feel at ease. I allow all animals to roam free in the house, unless otherwise specified. Animals are allowed on the furniture. Our house is dog proof with reinforced backyard so no animals can escape. Our routine is an early morning walk, bathroom break and feeding. Then the dogs have time to play with each other or relax. I will often take the dogs to the dog park or for a hike. We provide another walk in the evening and feeding again. I adapt and accommodate for dogs who need a specialized schedule. I also adjust the activities and the length of walks based on the size and age of the dogs staying with me. This is very similar to what I have described above. I have been dog sitting for a long time and I have a good understanding of animal behaviours, breeds and needs. About: I've had chickens, ducks, indoor birds, dogs and cats throughout my life, and understand most animals basic needs as well as how to effectively communicate with/for them and I am capable of accommodating for a variety of pets. :] I'm free most of the time so I'm able to do pretty much any job in my area at anytime and for extended periods, as long as I have proper notice. I have my own cat who I help take care of, but he's also cared for by 3 other people I live with and I work other odd jobs that may come up but generally I am available and I keep my calendar up to date. I can currently only take jobs outside my home, but I understand what it means to respect the privacy and safety of the clients home/household, and how to respect an animals boundaries in terms of meeting new people or experiencing a change in environment. I have had multiple rescue animals, some who were very resistant to certain types of interactions due to trauma with previous owners. I know many animals may experience similar anxieties and I will respect the boundaries of the individual pet, and closely follow the personal care instructions provided by the owner. I am less experienced with animals that have special needs or require medication, but I am happy to learn and accommodate for any pet I can!

Kendra was fabulous with our 2 1/2 year old Welsh Terrier, Magoo. For three weeks, she came daily and walked him 2 K+ over a variety of neighbourhood routes, and then played with him in the yard. She engaged with water play and initiated variations of fetch. (For a Welsh Terrier, he isn't really ball crazy). She was always prompt, and is a great communicator - with a thorough report on the busy hour that they spent together, Most importantly, right from the initial meet and greet, she really connected with Magoo, and he looked forward to her visits. We hope that Kendra will be available if we ever need a dog walker again. She would be a hard act to follow. Six stars!
