“Our Coby is a 11-month old maltipoo. Wei is a perfect dog sitter and is very knowledgeable. We easily felt at ease with her during our meet and greet a few days before the scheduled day care. She kept us up to date on Coby’s activities throughout the day with lots of photos and videos which made us feel assured that he was doing well and was in great hands. Their backyard is wonderful with lots of space where Coby could easily run around safely. Wei is very affectionate and Coby had lots of playtime with her. Coby will definitely go back next time!”

“I m very happy with Li’s dogsitting Benny and with all the advised he gave me on how to better handle Benny’s reactivity to other dogs. Benny was relaxed when I picked him up and even today, a day after the sitting, we have encountered a few dogs and B was relaxed.. ufff that is great! I will plan to leave B with Li as often as I need it. I feel it was great for Benny and for me too. Thank you Li & family 🐶”

“Poppy had a great time making new friends with Kevin and his family after she got over her usual initial shyness on Day 1. Poppy came home happy each night and I had peace of mind knowing that she was receiving attention and care, walks and snuggles during her time at doggy daycare. I’m also very grateful that Kevin was able to accommodate my booking on very short notice, and was very flexible with my schedule changes. From Paula and Poppy, thank you so much!! 🙋🏼♀️🐶🐾”

“It was our first time leaving Darby with anyone other than family but our worries were unfounded. Minerva was amazing, Darby had so much fun and was so well taken care of in Minerva's home. We will certainly continue to have Minerva help us out!”

“Wow, my 15 year old terrier with separation anxiety was returned to me calm and relaxed. I’m so impressed and will definitely come back again. Highly recommend Jaspreet and Roop.”

“Mykyta and Michelle are amazing, I highly recommend! They were willing to accept our very energetic (and still in training) 4 month old Aussie for daycare and you can tell they treat her with so much love! At morning drop off, as soon as we turn on their street our little Daisy is already whining and jumping with excitement to go meet Mykyta. Daisy loves her little daycare family, thank you so much!”

About: Growing up with a dad who’s a vet, our home was always bustling with pets. From playful puppies to curious cats, I've been around them all my life. This experience has made me super comfortable looking after home pets. While I’m not a pro, I genuinely enjoy ensuring they feel safe, loved, and happy. It's all about creating a fun and caring environment for our furry friends! I recently became a proud "grandma" to my son's new dog, and since he's busy, I've happily taken on the role of his walking partner. With the flexibility in my schedule, I get to enjoy multiple walks a day, and honestly, who doesn't love the company of a dog? Working mostly from home allows me to dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets and ensuring they feel loved and attended to. I take this role seriously, as it's my main focus right now, and I'm committed to sticking to a routine that keeps our furry friends happy and healthy. Caring for pets in my home involves providing a safe environment, maintaining routines, and ensuring exercise and interaction. In clients' homes, I follow their specific instructions, uphold cleanliness, and give regular updates to ensure trust and comfort.
About: Hey, I'm Jen, Animals have been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a farm in Scotland, surrounded by working dogs and all kinds of other animals. This upbringing gave me hands on experience with animals of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments and it’s where my love for animals truly began. I also volunteer at a bird rescue, which I find incredibly rewarding. I moved to Canada in 2012 and fell in love with the outdoor lifestyle and the wonderful pet loving community here in BC. Whether it’s going for walks, playtime in the yard, or just providing calm companionship, I take pride in offering attentive, reliable care to every pet I look after. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I have another job but primarily work from home with a flexible schedule. Some days are lighter than others. This gives me plenty of time to care for pets and take them on regular walks. A lot of the time my husband joins me for house sitting, and he shares my passion for animals. I’ve been house sitting for several years and always treat your home with the same care and respect I give my own. I understand how important it is to feel confident that both your pets and your home are in safe, reliable hands while you're away. I’ve also worked with dogs that required additional care due to illness, so I’m comfortable administering medication and following specific routines when needed. I prefer to do a meet and greet before confirming any bookings. It gives us a chance to connect, helps your pets get familiar with me, and ensures we're the right fit for each other. I have a dog named Toby, who’s a Standard Poodle crossed with a Komondor. He weighs 75 pounds and is a lovable goof with a big personality. Toby is my constant companion and joins me wherever I go. He’s energetic, playful, and very intelligent, having learned many commands through training. We both enjoy going on walks and discovering new places together.
“Luanne had been great with my Flynn. It takes him some time to warm up to new people but she has allowed him to come out of his shell at his pace. He had a great time with her today and she sent lots of pictures and updates.”

About: Hi, I'm Amber! I've been around animals my entire life, so I understand the love, patience, and responsibility that come with caring for pets. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a quiet cuddle, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I currently have two cats who keep life interesting! Ivy is my 12-year-old tabby who is sweet, cuddly, and toothless, so I have experience caring for senior pets and understanding their unique needs. My younger cat, Lavender, is just over a year old and is full of energy. She loves to play, which has taught me the importance of keeping active pets mentally and physically stimulated. I work full-time, but I'm committed to providing dependable care and always do my best to accommodate my schedule around my bookings. If I have an early morning shift, my wonderful boyfriend is happy to help. He loves animals just as much as I do, so your pet will always receive plenty of attention and care. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member because I feel the same way about my own pets. I'll treat your pet as if they were my own by following their routine, giving them lots of love and attention, and keeping you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I do work full-time, but I'm happy to help anyone who needs pet care or dog walks before or after work, depending on my schedule. I pride myself on being responsible, dependable, and respectful. I will care for your pets as if they were my own, treating them with patience, kindness, and love. Every pet is unique, so I'll do my best to accommodate their individual needs, follow their routine, and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you're away.

“Keiona and her partner took such good care of my parents dogs Bonnie and Molly. She sent photos and little updates which was such a joy to read :) thank you so much again!!!”

About: As an only child, my pets were the closest things I had to siblings. I grew up with Rottweilers and pugs, and siamese cats! I do have a soft spot for these breeds (and know all about the pug care: wrinkle cleaning, ear cleaning, breathing difficulties, etc). My pets were sometimes treated better than I was, which I now have a deep appreciation for. Animals are a gift to us- they deserve to be treated as such! I am a stay at home mom, so I am available any hour of the day Monday to Sunday! I am flexible and willing to work my schedule around you and your pets. Growing up, my dogs were my babies. I believe pets need to be given lots of love, affection, and attention. We are eager and excited to welcome your pet into our home! We will welcome them with love, care and cuddles. I live with my family, who all love animals. My husband Evan, and our two boys (7yrs. & 1 yr.).

Puneet is incredible! Both of my dogs, Mochi and Lychee, absolutely adore her. When one of my dogs went through a major surgery, Puneet cared for her as if she were her own fur baby. She truly went above and beyond, making sure she was comfortable, loved, and well looked after during every visit. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dog was in such caring and compassionate hands. I couldn’t recommend Puneet more highly!

I left my puppy for the first time and was pretty anxious, but Gurleen made me feel completely at ease. I received updates and photos, plus sweet reassurance that he was being a good boy. It was clear he was happy and well looked after. So grateful for such a caring and attentive sitter! Will definitely rebook!

Wei was amazing with Louie! Very attentive and wanted to know everything about Louie - what he needed what he liked. She provided regular updates, pictures and videos. Louie had a great day with her and I knew he was well taken care of! I highly recommend Wei!

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Surrey commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
