“Mykyta and Michelle were amazing with our German Shepherd, Maui. She normally has a tough time with new people but that wasn’t the case with Mykyta and Michelle. They also provided ample updates throughout the day of Maui having a great time. Maui will definitely be over again to see her new friend Myla!”

“It was our first time leaving Darby with anyone other than family but our worries were unfounded. Minerva was amazing, Darby had so much fun and was so well taken care of in Minerva's home. We will certainly continue to have Minerva help us out!”

About: Growing up with a dad who’s a vet, our home was always bustling with pets. From playful puppies to curious cats, I've been around them all my life. This experience has made me super comfortable looking after home pets. While I’m not a pro, I genuinely enjoy ensuring they feel safe, loved, and happy. It's all about creating a fun and caring environment for our furry friends! I recently became a proud "grandma" to my son's new dog, and since he's busy, I've happily taken on the role of his walking partner. With the flexibility in my schedule, I get to enjoy multiple walks a day, and honestly, who doesn't love the company of a dog? Working mostly from home allows me to dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets and ensuring they feel loved and attended to. I take this role seriously, as it's my main focus right now, and I'm committed to sticking to a routine that keeps our furry friends happy and healthy. Caring for pets in my home involves providing a safe environment, maintaining routines, and ensuring exercise and interaction. In clients' homes, I follow their specific instructions, uphold cleanliness, and give regular updates to ensure trust and comfort.

“Roop took amazing care of my boy Frodo! He’s still a puppy, so I know he can be a handful, but she was so sweet, patient, and kind with him. She also accepted my booking last minute, which I hugely appreciated. I would absolutely recommend Roop and her family to anyone looking for a pet sitter. You can feel confident your pets will be cared for and loved just like family.”

“Melissa was amazing with our dog, Storm! She even offered us a trial beforehand, which made us feel so comfortable leaving Storm for the first time. Throughout the stay, Melissa kept us updated with pictures and texts, which really helped ease our minds. We could tell Storm was happy and well cared for. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a loving and reliable dog sitter!”

“Luanne had been great with my Flynn. It takes him some time to warm up to new people but she has allowed him to come out of his shell at his pace. He had a great time with her today and she sent lots of pictures and updates.”

About: Safety-First Sitter | Positive Reinforcement & Reactive Dog Expert Hi! I’ve been a dog lover since childhood, but my love for animals deepened while raising my own hyperactive Golden Retriever. Navigating his energy and growth has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and it’s taught me what it takes to keep a high-energy pup happy and well-adjusted. Why Choose Me? - Safety & Expertise: I am Pet First Aid Certified, giving you total peace of mind while you’re away. - Positive Reinforcement Only: I am a firm advocate for force-free methods. - Reactive Dog Experience: I have extensive experience with reactive dogs and understand how to manage environments to keep them feeling safe and calm. - Flexible WFH Schedule: Since I work from home, I offer high-frequency supervision and can easily adapt to your dog’s specific routine. I also have a passion for pet photography! I love capturing the "paws-itive" moments of our day ! I work from home with a flexible schedule for the most part. I am happy to work with you to schedule my time with your dog My golden retriever is usually off leash at home and has (almost) full access, wherever safe. I have a couple of play pens as well to help manage spaces when needed. My home is extremely puppy proof and therefore extremely safe for any dog. I have a large private yard as well.
“Tracey is so good with my puppy! She’s watched him while I was at work and he came home happy and tired. One of the days she watched him was very hot and she was sure to keep his walks short and even set up AC in one part of the house for him. My puppy can be pretty high energy but Tracey handles him perfectly and she is so kind. I definitely recommend her as a dogsitter!”

I look forward to hearing from you :) I work in the Burnaby near the Brentwood area (near Gilmore skytrain stn) if it works with my schedule and you are close to that area I would have no problem doing a dog walk or a cat visit on my splits, I would also be able to do an overnight stay, shoot me a message and we will see. I live in Surrey so I would be able to do all those services there also. dog walk/ visits would just have to be after work hours. I am a very responsible, caring and respectful young lady. I am easy to get in contact with and i am very outgoing. I would love to take care of your fur babies(dogs&cats), weather it is to come to your home to walk them or to house sit while you are away.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Surrey
We’ve had such a great experience with Puneet! From our first greet she made both me and my dog feel completely comfortable. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the dogs, she takes the time to get to know each one’s personality and needs. My dog came home happy, tired, and excited to go back every time, which says everything. I also really appreciated the updates and how clean and well-run everything is. Recommend to anyone looking for a safe, caring, and fun environment for their pup!

I left my puppy for the first time and was pretty anxious, but Gurleen made me feel completely at ease. I received updates and photos, plus sweet reassurance that he was being a good boy. It was clear he was happy and well looked after. So grateful for such a caring and attentive sitter! Will definitely rebook!

Wei was amazing with Louie! Very attentive and wanted to know everything about Louie - what he needed what he liked. She provided regular updates, pictures and videos. Louie had a great day with her and I knew he was well taken care of! I highly recommend Wei!

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Surrey commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
