“Brad is a considerate canine caregiver. He provided puppy updates with pictures during the daycare which we appreciated. Our big boy went on walks and came back happy and healthy. We would use his services again - Thank you!”

“Sara was great, she clearly knows dogs very well. My dog is 95 lbs, has unreliable recall, and can be reactive to certain things, but after meeting Sara and chatting a bit, I felt 100% confident that she could handle him. Will be using her services regularly.”

About: I spent 15 wonderful years raising my own dog, which taught me just how much trust it takes to leave your pup with someone new. I take care of every dog with the same patience, attention, and calm presence as I’d want my dog to be cared with. Your dog will feel safe, comfortable, well cared for. I’m currently working part-time, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups ! I’m available for boarding on weekends and weekdays . I make sure your pet feels comfortable, safe, and part of the family while they’re with me. I try to maintain their regular routine, give them lots of calm attention, gentle care, and a peaceful space to relax.

“Connie was a kind, responsive, and dutiful dog sitter for Fozzie. She was really flexible with drop off and pick up times which is super helpful for my schedule and type of work. She also provided me with photo and message updates throughout the day. It was great to see that Fozzie settled in so nicely with their family including their dog Alpha and their two kiddos. Fozzie struggles with separation anxiety and has leash reactivity with other dogs so he can sometimes be a bit of a handful but Connie demonstrated familiarity and confidence around dealing with these challenges, which helped me have confidence too. Connie also goes above and beyond by providing homemade healthy treats to doggos like steamed pumpkin. Would highly recommend but Fozzie calls dibs! 🥰”

“Anmol and Abhinav are incredible dog sitters! They have really taken the time to get to know my dog and all of her quirks! They always send pictures and videos and are easy to communicate with! I have been sending my dog to them for a little while now and will continue to have them watch my pup as they always go above and beyond. They have worked with my crazy schedule and are very accomidating! Thank you both for giving me the peace of mind knowing my pup is safe and cared for while I'm at work! The bonus of sending your pup to Anmol and Abhinav is that they have a sweet pup named Bella who Delilah (my pup) and I look forward to seeing every time!”

“We had an amazing experience with Ashley and Kelvin for our dog Bentley. They sent loads of photos and updated us regularly. I’ve already booked his next stay with them 🥰”

“Thank you for accepting our very last minute request! This was our first time using Rover and were a bit nervous at first but Andrea and her partner made us feel at ease immediately. She sent pictures and we could tell our Millie was in safe hands. Thank you!!!”

- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)

- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Ladner commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
