“Connie once again was a great, reliable, and responsive sitter for our corgi, Kuma. She shared plenty of updates during his short stay and was very accommodating towards our fluctuating pick-up time range. We really appreciate it, thank you x100! 💖”

“We are lucky to have Sarah look after our puppy, Dior, for one day. She is kind and attentive, offering helpful advice on training Dior to be calmer and follow commands. She also shared several video clips, and her own dog was wonderfully gentle and friendly. I'll definitely choose Sarah again in the future.”

“We had a great experience with Bella! Enzo is a very anxious dog and usually has a hard time when he's away from his people so I was worried about leaving him. Bella was incredibly patient and caring, and I was so happy to hear that Enzo was actually calm and didn't cry/whine while he was with her. It says a lot about how comfortable and safe she made him feel! She also kept me updated with lots of photos and videos! I would definitely trust her to watch him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dogsitter!”

“Nala’s smile says it all. It was her first experience with a dog sitter. George made her feel comfortable with a dog. It took a few mins for her to settle. Thank you for making my girls first experience so wonderful.”

“Xuanhanyue took care of our pup Tofu and she is an excellent sitter with attention to details. Our pup skipped meal so she followed instructions to feed her some treats to not go empty stomach. She was also willing to take care of Tofu on last minute request, which we canceled later but loved her gesture to accommodate us. Bubble is absolutely adorable and Tofu went along with her very easily. I would recommend her.”

“This was Jordi's first time with Hector and not only did he provide updates and pictures but I could tell when I went to pick him up he was loved and content. I will definitely be using him on a regular basis. Highly recommend.”

“We had an amazing experience with Ashley and Kelvin for our dog Bentley. They sent loads of photos and updated us regularly. I’ve already booked his next stay with them 🥰”

“Our dog Schatzi has such a good time with Viktoriia and Henry. She pulls me to get there faster when she sees where she is going. They send so many cute photos and videos and spoil her!”

“At first we were a little worried since this is my first time leaving our dogs with day care. They loved it! Sandra took good care of my dogs while we were away. She always updated me by sending messages and photos so I know they are in good hands. Thanks!”

“She is the best! It was my first time using this app so i was a little bit hesistant. However when i met her, i felt so relaxed! She helped me at the time that i really needed the most when i had to leave my dogs to get their documents ready for our trip in Europe. Due to traffic and documents being behind, i was an hour and haft late from our pick up and she was very understanding. I couldn't ask for a better person! If i live in town i would definitely recommend using her for you furbabies 🥰 Thank you so much Gini!”

“Menghan provided Elvis with excellent care , he got plenty of playtime (more than if he was at home ) and for a puppy that is a lot of time and attention. I really appreciated the photos and videos all the and the yard was perfect for him to run around !”

About: ** We live in a cozy apartment just a quick 10 min. drive from YVR Airport, making drop-offs and pick-ups incredibly convenient for travelling pet parents! ** 📢 A little note for pet parents: I typically care for dogs up to 22 lbs, as my experience and home are best suited for smaller pups. Rover currently doesn’t offer an option for dogs up to 22 lbs, so I’ve selected the 16-40 lbs range as the closest available option. Please note that my actual maximum weight is 22 lbs. Hello, I’m Catherine! I started caring for dogs for family and friends in 2022, and over the years I realized how much I truly enjoy it. That eventually led me to get my own dog, Summer, in 2024. She’s currently 2 years old and is a Bichon-Shih Tzu mix who is very friendly and loves meeting new dogs. Having a dog of my own has taught me so much about their care, behaviour, and different personalities. I’m excited to continue learning, get to know more dogs and their different personalities, and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with me. 🧳☀️ FOR BOARDING & DOGGY DAY CARE: I work from home, which allows me to keep a close eye on your dog throughout the day and give them lots of attention, companionship, and care. I'm experienced with daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, and following each dog's usual schedule to help them feel relaxed and at home. 🐾 FOR DOG WALKING: My regular availability for dog walking is every Monday! Your dog is welcome to join my dog, Summer, and I accept a maximum of 2 other dogs, each 22 lbs or less, so I can comfortably manage all 3 and prioritize their safety. I’ll take them around the nearby parks, including dog-friendly areas where they can safely run, play, and enjoy some off-leash time when appropriate. I may open additional days when my schedule allows, but Mondays will be my permanent availability for now. If you’re looking for someone to walk your dog every Monday, feel free to reach out! 🧳☀️ FOR BOARDING & DOGGY DAY CARE: Our building is secure and quiet, perfect for dogs who prefer a calm environment without the stress of a busy household, for a comfortable stay here. 🐾 FOR DOG WALKING: Your dog’s safety is always my priority. I’ll keep a close eye on every dog throughout the walk and choose safe, dog-friendly walking areas. I’ll also make sure the dogs are comfortable with each other and supervised at all times, especially when they’re playing together.
About: I’ve had dogs since I was a kid - big ones and small ones. In fact, I like them so much, that I made it my job. I have a Pomeranian girl myself and she is joy of my life. I like taking pups on long walks and spoil them with snacks. I used to shelter dogs when I lived in Vietnam Me and my husband are usually home, at least one of us. So it’s easy for us to take care of pets and take them out on walks. I take pets for walks, I give them belly rubs, snacks and play with them. They also can play with my dog. I feed them according to owner's preferences.
“Amazing, accommodating and great communication throughout the booking and during our pup’s stay. It was our first Rover experience and it was perfect. Lots of other dogs to play with, a ton of photos through the stay making us feel comfortable. We’ll definitely be back!”

“Our dog Schatzi loves staying with Millie, she is taken care of so well. I love the photos and updates they send. She has stayed with them a few times now and loves it each time!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Richmond
Sara is a Diamond in the Rough on Rover. Blessed to have found Sara available for the time we are in Vancouver visiting. She brought peace of mind and reassurance with her confidence and calmness. She knows her animals and loves furry friends. She took our little Ghost puppy for the day and was able to give our puppy a wonderful experience socializing with other dogs and enrichment. Thankful thankful thankful. Definitely recommend Sara's service.

Xuanhanyue took care of our pup Tofu and she is an excellent sitter with attention to details. Our pup skipped meal so she followed instructions to feed her some treats to not go empty stomach. She was also willing to take care of Tofu on last minute request, which we canceled later but loved her gesture to accommodate us. Bubble is absolutely adorable and Tofu went along with her very easily. I would recommend her.

We had a great experience with Rui! We have a very shy and anxious puppy, so we were understandably nervous after a previous Rover experience with another sitter wasn’t the best fit. Rui was actually our first choice initially, and we’re so glad we came back to her. From the meet and greet to daycare, everything was seamless. Rui was warm, welcoming, and communicative. She kept us updated throughout the day with photos and updates, which gave us a lot of peace of mind before Prince’s upcoming boarding stay. The best part was seeing Prince come home happy and relaxed, and hearing that he ate all of his food and was starting to feel more comfortable. We highly recommend Rui to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and reliable dog sitter!

Sandra was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our dog for the day and treated him like part of the family. Both she and her daughters gave him plenty of love, attention, and affection throughout his stay. We received updates, and it was so reassuring to know he was happy and well looked after. We highly recommend Sandra to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you so much!

We had a great experience with Sinsi! She was super friendly, responsive and sent us lots of photo/video updates of Buster throughout the time she watched him. She was also very considerate of his needs as a 6 month old puppy who is still adjusting to new environments and people. Would highly recommend her!

Sheena is a very responsible dog sitter. She started by asking detailed questions about May’s habits and routine. She was also very flexible — with very short notice, she was able to take care of May. She took May for a walk right away to help ease her separation anxiety, let her sit on the couch, and kept us updated with photos throughout the stay. We would happily book with Sheena again.

Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of my dog! Your kindness, patience, and genuine love for animals really showed. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such good hands. The updates and care you provided meant a lot to me. I truly appreciate your dedication and would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Thank you again for treating my dog like your own!

Kateryna was absolutely wonderful, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Helios. On the day of the handoff, everything that could go wrong went wrong on my end — delays with friends, a frozen car, and unexpected complications — which almost caused Kateryna and her husband to miss their Valentine’s Day dinner plans. Despite this, Kateryna was incredibly kind, patient, and flexible. We worked together to find alternative ways to complete the handoff, and both she and her husband were genuinely helpful and understanding throughout the process. Helios is still a puppy, and not everyone can make him feel safe right away. What really stood out to me was how calm and comfortable he was the moment he entered their home. He settled in immediately and began interacting with Kateryna on his own, which speaks volumes about her gentle energy and natural connection with dogs. I’m deeply grateful for her care, warmth, and understanding. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kateryna to anyone looking for a sitter who is not only responsible, but truly kind and trustworthy.

We absolutely love Erika and couldn’t be happier that we found her! She is incredibly kind, gentle, and accommodating, and it’s so clear how much she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after. Sylvie was very comfortable with her right away, which gave us so much peace of mind. We really appreciated the frequent updates, photos, and messages. It was obvious Sylvie was relaxed, happy, and well cared for. We also love that Sylvie gets to socialize and play with her two dogs, which was such a bonus. Erika goes above and beyond, and we truly trust her with Sylvie. We’re so grateful to have found such a wonderful sitter and will absolutely be booking with her again. Highly, highly recommend! 🐶💛

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Richmond commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 82% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
