“Connie was a kind, responsive, and dutiful dog sitter for Fozzie. She was really flexible with drop off and pick up times which is super helpful for my schedule and type of work. She also provided me with photo and message updates throughout the day. It was great to see that Fozzie settled in so nicely with their family including their dog Alpha and their two kiddos. Fozzie struggles with separation anxiety and has leash reactivity with other dogs so he can sometimes be a bit of a handful but Connie demonstrated familiarity and confidence around dealing with these challenges, which helped me have confidence too. Connie also goes above and beyond by providing homemade healthy treats to doggos like steamed pumpkin. Would highly recommend but Fozzie calls dibs! 🥰”

“Anmol and Abhinav are incredible dog sitters! They have really taken the time to get to know my dog and all of her quirks! They always send pictures and videos and are easy to communicate with! I have been sending my dog to them for a little while now and will continue to have them watch my pup as they always go above and beyond. They have worked with my crazy schedule and are very accomidating! Thank you both for giving me the peace of mind knowing my pup is safe and cared for while I'm at work! The bonus of sending your pup to Anmol and Abhinav is that they have a sweet pup named Bella who Delilah (my pup) and I look forward to seeing every time!”

“We had an amazing experience with Ashley and Kelvin for our dog Bentley. They sent loads of photos and updated us regularly. I’ve already booked his next stay with them 🥰”

“Sara was great, she clearly knows dogs very well. My dog is 95 lbs, has unreliable recall, and can be reactive to certain things, but after meeting Sara and chatting a bit, I felt 100% confident that she could handle him. Will be using her services regularly.”

“Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of my dog! Your kindness, patience, and genuine love for animals really showed. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such good hands. The updates and care you provided meant a lot to me. I truly appreciate your dedication and would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Thank you again for treating my dog like your own!”

“Thank you for accepting our very last minute request! This was our first time using Rover and were a bit nervous at first but Andrea and her partner made us feel at ease immediately. She sent pictures and we could tell our Millie was in safe hands. Thank you!!!”

“We had a great experience with Bella! Enzo is a very anxious dog and usually has a hard time when he's away from his people so I was worried about leaving him. Bella was incredibly patient and caring, and I was so happy to hear that Enzo was actually calm and didn't cry/whine while he was with her. It says a lot about how comfortable and safe she made him feel! She also kept me updated with lots of photos and videos! I would definitely trust her to watch him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dogsitter!”

“Lovely couple! They are obviously pet lovers! I’m drawn to their calm and kind demeanor. Mo is usually unsure of new people but he approached them after a few minutes. Lots and patient and calm interactions which Mo prefers. Nothing but positive vibes from this couple. Thank you Hector and Jeanette!”

“Natasha was so great with our puppy. She is so knowledgeable and truly cares about the dogs and their safety and comfort. She was very thorough with asking questions and getting to know our pup so she could provide the best care. I would definitely recommend her!”

About: I am two dogs parent like you. I totally understand how precious they are. I will take care of them just like you would do. I am a full time house wife. I am available anytime any day for your dog. I wake up 5:30 to take my dog for a walk everyday. I have a small friendly dog who is always waiting for furly friends. We do not have child at home. “Gini and her dog are excellent, very knowledgeable about dogs and puppies, feel very comfortable bringing our puppy back! Totally eased my mind about leaving our baby at daycare. Thanks Gini!”

About: I’ve raised two dogs until their final days, including one with cancer. I’m calm, attentive, and experienced with senior dogs, health issues, and emotional care. I work from home full-time in a cozy townhouse by River Road. Pets aren’t crated and are free to relax, cuddle, and enjoy peaceful daily walks. I recently said goodbye to my Cocker Spaniel, so I have no pets now. I work from home live River Green perfect for peaceful, flexible daily walks.
“I really liked the photos that Sinsi took! I left Bruna in her care for 2 hours and in that time she took her for a walk, fed her dinner and kept her hydrated. Bruna is still a puppy and not fully potty trained so I know it might not have been the easiest task. Thank you Sinsi!”

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life. I have cared for my own pets for many years, as well as pets belonging to family and friends. I truly enjoy being around animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. Since I started traveling in 2022, my lifestyle has not allowed me to have a pet of my own, so caring for other people’s pets has become a meaningful way to keep that connection in my life. I understand that pets are family, and I treat them with patience, kindness, and respect. I work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide lots of attention, supervision, companionship, and care throughout the day. I’m responsible, attentive, and genuinely committed to making every pet feel happy and well cared for. I work 100% from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide attentive and consistent care throughout the day. Because of this, pets are rarely left alone and can receive plenty of supervision, companionship, playtime, and affection as part of my daily routine. For boarding, I offer flexible check-in and check-out times whenever possible. Pets are welcome on furniture and beds, and I always try to create a calm, safe, and comfortable environment where they can feel at home. Daily walks, playtime, and regular potty breaks are included depending on each pet’s routine and needs. For house visits, I can provide up to two 1-hour visits per day. I’m also happy to help with small household tasks such as watering plants or bringing in mail while you are away. For house sitting, I take both pet care and home care very seriously. I carefully follow all instructions and make sure pets maintain their normal routines to help them feel secure and relaxed while their owners are away. I’m comfortable following feeding schedules and administering medication when clear instructions are provided. Before caring for any pet, I always like to learn about their personality, routine, preferences, energy level, health needs, and any special quirks or triggers. I believe understanding each pet individually is the best way to provide loving, responsible, and stress-free care. I believe every pet is unique, so the care I provide always depends on each dog’s individual needs, personality, routine, and the specific instructions given by their owner. I take the time to understand their habits, energy level, preferences, feeding schedule, and any special care requirements to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I work hard to create a calm, loving, and secure environment both in my home and in my client’s home. Since I work from home, I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, companionship, and regular breaks throughout the day. I also live near a large park where dogs can enjoy walks, explore, play, and safely use their energy while having a fun and enriching time outdoors. Whether a dog is very active or prefers a slower pace, I always adapt to what makes them happiest and most comfortable. My goal is always to make pets feel relaxed, cared for, and loved while giving owners peace of mind knowing their pet is in responsible and attentive hands.
About: I have 8 years of pet care experience and I’m also the mom of a lovely 5-year-old toy poodle. Caring for my own dog every day has taught me how important patience, consistency, safety, and affection are in a pet’s routine. I have experience with feeding, walking, playtime, basic grooming, and understanding different dog personalities. I know every pet has their own comfort level, so I always take time to help them feel safe, relaxed, and loved! I am currently working from home 3 days a week on weekdays and free on weekends as well. Caring for your fur baby fit naturally into my routine because caring for my own toy poodle is already part of my daily life. I enjoy spending time with dogs, going on walks, and giving pets the attention they need. I will make sure each booking has enough time for proper care, play, walks, and as many updates as you prefer!:) I have a sweet 5-year-old toy poodle who can keep your pet company. She is spayed, gentle, and loves making furry friends. I will always follow your instructions carefully and make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while they are with me. I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind:)!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Richmond
We had a great experience with Rui! We have a very shy and anxious puppy, so we were understandably nervous after a previous Rover experience with another sitter wasn’t the best fit. Rui was actually our first choice initially, and we’re so glad we came back to her. From the meet and greet to daycare, everything was seamless. Rui was warm, welcoming, and communicative. She kept us updated throughout the day with photos and updates, which gave us a lot of peace of mind before Prince’s upcoming boarding stay. The best part was seeing Prince come home happy and relaxed, and hearing that he ate all of his food and was starting to feel more comfortable. We highly recommend Rui to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and reliable dog sitter!

We had a great experience with Bella! I would definitely trust her to watch him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dogsitter!

Sandra was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our dog for the day and treated him like part of the family. Both she and her daughters gave him plenty of love, attention, and affection throughout his stay. We received updates, and it was so reassuring to know he was happy and well looked after. We highly recommend Sandra to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you so much!

Lovely couple! They are obviously pet lovers! I’m drawn to their calm and kind demeanor. Mo is usually unsure of new people but he approached them after a few minutes. Lots and patient and calm interactions which Mo prefers. Nothing but positive vibes from this couple. Thank you Hector and Jeanette!

We had a great experience with Sinsi! She was super friendly, responsive and sent us lots of photo/video updates of Buster throughout the time she watched him. She was also very considerate of his needs as a 6 month old puppy who is still adjusting to new environments and people. Would highly recommend her!

Sheena is a very responsible dog sitter. She started by asking detailed questions about May’s habits and routine. She was also very flexible — with very short notice, she was able to take care of May. She took May for a walk right away to help ease her separation anxiety, let her sit on the couch, and kept us updated with photos throughout the stay. We would happily book with Sheena again.

Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of my dog! Thank you again for treating my dog like your own!

Kateryna was absolutely wonderful, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Helios. On the day of the handoff, everything that could go wrong went wrong on my end — delays with friends, a frozen car, and unexpected complications — which almost caused Kateryna and her husband to miss their Valentine’s Day dinner plans. Despite this, Kateryna was incredibly kind, patient, and flexible. We worked together to find alternative ways to complete the handoff, and both she and her husband were genuinely helpful and understanding throughout the process. Helios is still a puppy, and not everyone can make him feel safe right away. What really stood out to me was how calm and comfortable he was the moment he entered their home. He settled in immediately and began interacting with Kateryna on his own, which speaks volumes about her gentle energy and natural connection with dogs. I’m deeply grateful for her care, warmth, and understanding. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kateryna to anyone looking for a sitter who is not only responsible, but truly kind and trustworthy.

We absolutely love Erika and couldn’t be happier that we found her! She is incredibly kind, gentle, and accommodating, and it’s so clear how much she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after. Sylvie was very comfortable with her right away, which gave us so much peace of mind. We really appreciated the frequent updates, photos, and messages. It was obvious Sylvie was relaxed, happy, and well cared for. We also love that Sylvie gets to socialize and play with her two dogs, which was such a bonus. Erika goes above and beyond, and we truly trust her with Sylvie. We’re so grateful to have found such a wonderful sitter and will absolutely be booking with her again. Highly, highly recommend! 🐶💛

I had an amazing experience with Beatrice. From the moment we met, it was clear how much care and attention she put into looking after my furbaby. I received regular updates and photos, which gave me total peace of mind while I was at work. Salgu was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for when I returned. I feel very lucky to have found Beatrice. Highly recommend to anyone looking for reliable, loving pet care! :)

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Richmond commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
