“We were so happy to find Jennifer and David for Olive’s daycare stay, especially with only a few days notice! Jennifer was quick to respond, shared photos and was attentive to Olive’s needs for extra potty breaks as a senior dog. Thank you, Jennifer for looking after our girl and hope to see you again soon :)”

“Angela was absolutely amazing with my puppy! She took her on a nice long walk as well as the dog park. My puppy was so happy and tired when she got home! I was quite nervous because it was only my second time leaving my puppy with someone and Angela made it super easy and comfortable! I would definitely recommend her!”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, along with time spent as a former SPCA volunteer. Through my volunteer work, I assisted with daily care, feeding, cleaning, enrichment, and helping animals feel safe and comfortable in a shelter environment. In addition to dogs and cats, I have experience caring for reptiles and fish, including maintaining proper habitats, feeding schedules, and monitoring health and behavior. I’m attentive to routines, patient with different personalities, and comfortable following detailed care instructions to ensure every pet receives the care they’re used to. I treat every pet like my own and prioritize safety, consistency, and clear communication. I’m always happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can have total peace of mind while you’re away. Pet care is a regular part of my daily routine, so I’m able to give pets the time and attention they deserve. I structure my day around feedings, walks, playtime, and drop-ins, making sure each pet’s normal routine is maintained. I’m flexible with scheduling and always communicate clearly so owners know their pets are being well cared for. - Safety, routine, and gentle handling are top priorities - Calm, clean, and secure environment - Former SPCA volunteer with shelter-care experience - Respectful of pets’ boundaries and owners’ homes - Regular updates and clear communication
“Sheryl did a fantastic job taking care of my dog. I really appreciated the regular photo updates. My dog seemed happy and well-cared-for when I returned. I would definitely recommend Sheryl and plan to book her again in the future.”

“It was the first time I left our dog with someone else and also the first time using Rover. Nazanin made the whole process seemed very easy. I would recommend Nazanin and I would go back to her.”

“We were visiting from Ontario and needed someone to watch our dog Milo for a day. Lisa was super quick to accept and was very responsive. Milo had a fabulous day with her, her dog, and the other dogs. Lisa sent photos and videos throughout the day which was fantastic. Thank you Lisa for taking such good care of our little Milo and giving him a blast of a day!”

“Lucy was wonderful with our husky Bailey, who came back to us after day care exhausted in the best way. Lucy listened to all our needs, she took Bailey on some great walks and her communication is excellent. She kept us updated and took lots of great photos! Looking forward to her taking our pup again.”

“Guy & Zol are very knowledgeable and diligent about the health, safety, and well-being of pups in their care. Easy to coordinate with, very caring and playful, they provide tons of pics, updates and reassurance that your pup is having a great day. Ella can’t wait to go back and slept for 4hrs straight after a day of fun, stimulation, cuddles and naps :) Highly recommend!”

“This was my first time using Rover and also the first time sending my 6month puppy to full-day care and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Menghan was absolutely wonderful. She patiently answered all my questions beforehand and sent me lots of cute pictures and videos throughout the day to keep me updated. My pup had an amazing time in her care, and it was such a treat for her to have access to such a spacious yard to play in, since we live in an apartment. It’s clear my pup adores Menghan, and I feel completely confident leaving her in such kind and capable hands again.”

“Amazing experience with Lara, 10/10! She will be my lower lonsdale go to from now on :) She was awesome with my quirky dog, and flexible on meeting up beforehand to make sure it was a good fit. Thank you so much Lara!”

“Jessica is amazing with my pup, Molly! She clearly loves dogs and takes such good care of her. Many walks during the day and reporting back to me with photos, which is very much appreciated. My dog is 12 lbs and adores her dog, Sheriff who is a 75 lb black lab. I don’t think Molly knows she’s small lol. I take her there once a week and I know she will have a fun filled day. I highly recommend Jessica as a caregiver for your pet - she’s great!”

“Irene is absolutely wonderful! My puppy, Wiggle, has separation anxiety and I was nervous leaving her with someone new, but Irene took everything at her pace and made her feel completely at ease from day one. She kept me updated with photos and messages throughout the day, used a double leash as an extra precaution without me even asking, and took Wiggle on the most amazing adventure, Jericho, the duck pond, the beach, and shady walks to keep her comfortable. By the end of the day, Wiggle was happily snoozing on Irene’s couch. That says it all! We will definitely be back.”

About: We are a family of dog lovers that would love to host your four-legged best friend while you are away. I grew up taking care of dogs, and since then have adopted 3 with my husband, two of which passed away in recent years. I work from home so your dog will have company at all times. And this allows me the flexibility to take your dog out for a walk or pee break throughout the day. I will make sure to provide you with pictures and fast replies to your texts. The whole family will provide attention and love to your dog. We enjoy spending time outdoors exercising the dogs and playing with them. We live right across the street from some great trails, including power line. The kids are 11 and 13 and have lived with dogs with very different personnalities, from a high energy dog to one that was very calm and needed his own peaceful space. Although the whole family will be keeping your dog company and providing unlimited cuddles, I will be the main caregiver who will make sure your dog is confortable and happy at all times. Our dog is a 3-year old blue heeler mix who is very sociable and easygoing. If you have any questions or would like to set up a meet & greet, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am currently working part-time from home so I will have plenty of time to play and walk with your dog. I am available during the week and weekend. We have trails right across the street and a small backyard for short pee breaks, although we rather take our dog for multiple walks throughout the day instead of using the backyard.
“Yi-Yu is truly the best! Wolfy has tons of energy and needs daily fetch, and he came home happy and completely tired every single day. She even took him out on the rainiest day, which meant so much to me. Yi-Yu is easygoing, reliable, and clearly loves dogs. I highly recommend her — thank you, Yi-Yu!”

“Tanya was absolutely lovely, had great quick communication and sent lots of photos and updates throughout the day. Appreciate her for getting us in last minute and for a long day 🥰”

“Thanks for being flexible with our schedule! Sherri came back tired and ready to sleep - seemed like she had a great day playing with her new friends! We'll definitely be in touch in the future.”

“Anna took great care of our dog Puffin in her home. He was so happy to see her when we arrived which was an amazing sign. Puffin had lots of opportunity to play, look out the window and sleep on a cosy pile of blankets. Anna also ensured that Puffin got all of his bathroom breaks and walks as needed. I also received lots of updates and pictures throughout the day. I would 100% recommend Anna for doggy daycare services.”

- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Lions Bay commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
