“Lauren was absolutely wonderful looking after our golden retriever Kora at our house for a week! We felt so at ease knowing she was so well cared for. Lauren sent regular updates and was great at communicating, worked with Kora's unique needs, and left our place clean. Wouldn't hesitate to book again, thanks Lauren!!”

“We were very pleased with the service Rebecca provided. She was punctual and communicative. We returned to a spotless house and a calm and content Jack Russell. I would happily recommend Rebecca as a house and pet sitter.”

“Thank you Mariia for looking after Daphne and Oswald. They always love seeing you and you are a wonderful sitter - clean, tidy, respectful of our home. Appreciate your responsiveness and the very cute photos you took!”

“Rileigh was amazing with our two dachshunds during a last-minute 5-night stay. We’d never left them with anyone outside of family before, but her great communication and regular photo/video updates gave us so much peace of mind. Her background in dog training was a huge bonus — she even helped with some behaviors we’d been struggling with. Highly recommend Rileigh to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs my entire life, spanning from the early stages of pups to the cherished last moments of an older dog. I have taken the time to verse myself in dog care for all ages, meaning I can provide a great environment for whatever stage of life your dog is entering. I enjoy training young puppies and also will cater to the needs of an older dog as I have experience with my own animals in each stage. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I work part-time, which means I have plenty of time in the afternoons and evenings to dedicate to giving dogs the attention, exercise, and care they need. Morning care is also a possibility upon further connection with the owner. Whether it's going on daily hikes, playtime in the yard, or just keeping a pup company while they nap, I make sure every dog feels safe, loved, and right at home. Caring for my dog Kona is a big part of my everyday life. We live in a home with a fully fenced backyard where she can safely play and relax, and we go on daily hikes through the beautiful trails of North Vancouver to keep her active and happy. I also prioritize mental stimulation—Kona loves puzzle toys, treat games, and training activities that challenge her mind and keep her engaged. I believe every dog deserves a balance of exercise, enrichment, and love, and I bring that same level of care to every pup I look after.
“Iman was so good with our pitbull terrier. He is 15 with specific medications and funny quirks, and Iman handled him with care and compassion over a few days while we were away. We will definitely book with Iman again. It is relieving to have someone that we can trust.”

“William was great with our dog Bagira. He arrived on time, stayed with her all day and kept us updated. She seemed really happy with him :) would book again for sure. Thanks William 🙂”

About: My previous room-mate was a veterinary technician, and I frequently watched and walked her animals while she was away. I’ve been around and loved animals my whole life and am very comfortable around them. I often watch and walk friends dogs! My life doesn’t allow me to have a dog of my own currently, and it brings me great joy to help out in this way! I am looking for longer stays (2-3 days or more). I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule if notice is given. I will be commuting from out of town. :) I love spending time with animals, including getting them out of the house on adventures, to new parks for them to experiance new and interesting environments, or taking them to parks they are comfortable with and love. I also love spending time with them in the home, while giving them lots of time and attention!
About: I’m a West Vancouver dog enthusiast with Pet First Aid certification and hands-on experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. While I do not have formal professional dog-walking experience, I have spent years helping care for dogs belonging to family and friends, including energetic dogs, senior dogs, small companion dogs, cautious dogs, and strong protective breeds. I have cared for dogs during family events, vacations, camping trips, walks, and everyday visits. My experience includes taking dogs for multiple walks a day, feeding homemade meals, offering companionship, giving plenty of attention and belly rubs, and helping dogs feel safe and comfortable while their families are busy or away. I’m patient, observant, reliable, and genuinely love spending time with dogs. I understand that every dog has their own routine, comfort level, and personality, and I always aim to provide care that feels calm, affectionate, and trustworthy. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I currently have a flexible schedule while completing my online interior design studies. I’m based in West Vancouver, so I’m able to offer consistent local support for walks, check-ins, companionship, and care throughout the week. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs, so walks and visits feel less like an obligation and more like something I look forward to. I’m able to plan my day around a dog’s needs, whether that means regular walks, feeding routines, playtime, quiet companionship, or making sure they feel comfortable while their family is away. When caring for pets in their home, I follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding, walks, potty breaks, medications or special routines if needed, and any house rules. I take time to make sure the pet feels safe, calm, and cared for, whether that means playtime, companionship, belly rubs, or simply keeping them company. I’m respectful of the home, keep things clean and secure, and make sure pets are never rushed or overwhelmed. My goal is to provide reliable, attentive care while keeping their routine as normal and comforting as possible.
“Coranne arrived early to get familiar with Aspen. She bonded with Aspen and Aspen's doggie friend immediately. She gave them lots of tender loving care as well as massage. The dogs just love that. Aspen certainly enjoyed the long walk with Coranne. I can see that Aspen was a little sad when Coranne left. I will definitely ask Coranne to come back to look after Aspen and I have no problem recommending her to others.”

“Our family had a wonderful experience with June. Our dog, Koa, can be slightly reactive, and June was so patient and confident with her — she was clearly very happy and enjoyed plenty of walks and adventures while we were away. Our cat also seemed very content and comfortable spending time with her. A few. happy kitty! Coming home to a clean and well-cared-for home was such a nice bonus after our trip. June was reliable, caring, and attentive, and we felt very at ease knowing our pets and home were in good hands. We would absolutely recommend her and wouldn’t hesitate to have her back again when needed.”

“Ahmed was FANTASTIC at house sitting and looking after my 2 ‘free spirited’ 😅 Dalmatians! In fact, I think they had so much fun - they were disappointed when I came back 😂 Thank you so much, Ahmed - we can’t wait to see you again 🐾”

About: I have had dogs on and off my entire life. I adopted an older dog in my twenties who had severe arthritis and cared for him until his final days. This gave me hands-on experience with senior care and medication administration. I have house sat for my family and friend’s dogs throughout the years and given the dogs medication whenever it was needed. I have also been on many walks, runs and hikes with dogs and am able to handle high-energy dogs. My partner and I currently own a dog who is anxious and has some separation anxiety, and so I have a lot of patience and can handle more nervous/anxious dogs. Because of his anxiousness we are almost always with him and have a very homebody lifestyles with tons of positive reinforcement and desensitization techniques. I work as a flight attendant Monday to Wednesday's, and the rest of the time I am home. Whenever I am home I am fully available for pet sitting, dog walking and house drop ins. I mostly spend my days off going for long walks along the seawall, running, camping and enjoying time at home with my dog. I have a very flexible schedule with a lot of time off so it allows me to be fully present for any dog care. I currently live in an apartment in Fairview with easy access to the outdoors. There is a dog park about 10 minutes away from my place along with the seawall for walks. I live in a quiet neighbourhood that is very dog friendly. There is a vet at a 10 minute walk if ever it was needed.

“Jacquelines fantastic! My dogs loved her instantly. She went above and beyond and we felt really at ease all knowing night knowing they were in such good hands. Would ? recommend.”

“Skylar was extremely sweet and accommodating at my chaotic last minute booking. Communicative during my time away and willing & helpful with a non-pet related errand. I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook again. Also, Toots had nothing but praise for Skylar…..and Toots is a downright b*tch!”

“I had a great experience with Robyn. She stayed in my apartment for 1.5 weeks to care for Stanley and was punctual, dependable, and attentive throughout. I really appreciated the updates while I was away, they gave me peace of mind. She also left my apartment clean and tidy. I’d definitely recommend her!”

About: Hey! I’m LJ. I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life and absolutely love being around them. I’m comfortable with everything from energetic pups who need lots of exercise to older dogs who just want a calm, patient companion. I recently lost my best friend of 13 years and went through caring for her as a senior dog, which taught me a lot about attentiveness, medication routines, slower walks, and giving pets extra comfort and reassurance. I’ve also got experience in dogs who don’t get along with other dogs and how to navigate this. I’m dependable, easy to communicate with, and happy to send photo updates while you’re away. Whether your pet wants adventure, playtime, or just someone calm to hang with, I’ll make sure they’re well taken care of. I will treat your dog like my own :) I work full-time but have a flexible schedule, including two office days per week (typically Monday and Tuesday), and I’m able to plan my days off accordingly. Outside of work, pet care fits naturally into my routine after doing routine for 13 years on my own with my past dog and is something I genuinely enjoy. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, overnight care, and quality time before and after work, as well as on weekends. I’m active, reliable, and love being outdoors, so walks and playtime never feel like a chore to me. I’m also happy to follow your pet’s normal routine closely to help them feel comfortable, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away Your pet’s comfort and safety will always come first with me. I’m very attentive to routines, behaviour, feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and making sure pets feel calm and secure in their environment. I recently cared for my own senior dog, so I understand the importance of patience, trust, and paying attention to small changes in behaviour or energy. In a client’s home, I’m respectful, clean, dependable, and focused on keeping your pet’s routine consistent.

FAQs for House Sitting - Lions Bay
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 2,911 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lions Bay. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lions Bay maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lions Bay walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lions Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 90% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
