“Nimisha was available despite the short notice. She was punctual and took good care of our pet. Kept us posted with photos and followed the instructions provided well. Would recommend her.”

“From the moment Ripley & Julia met, my active Aussie was at ease with her and excited to play. After a few solo walks together, I felt very confident inviting to Julia to stay in my home and look after the little fuzzball. Julia has consistently been a mature & excellent communicator, who asked mindful, insightful questions about Ripley & the home throughout the process. I look forward to entrusting her with Ripley's care again in the future - and would endorse her to anyone else looking for someone to take good, kind care of their pupper.”

“Yin always takes amazing care of our cat, giving him lots of play and attention. Beyond that, Yin's communication is fantastic and we really appreciate all the photos/updates. Thank you Yin!”

About: Hello! If you're looking for a caring and responsible person to spend a few minutes or a few days with your pet, you've found her here! Whether it's taking your dog out on a long walk or coming by to feed the cats, my schedule is flexible and accommodating to just about any kind of need. My experience with dogs goes way back as I grew up with a cocker spaniel. I learned the basics like walking, playing, feeding and simple training with her. I also have experience with handling large breeds as I had housed an American Bulldog Mix for about 2 months. I know how to accommodate both food and environmental allergies, how to get creative with physical and mental exercise in limited spaces, and how to work with a situationally reactive dog. As of now, there are no pets living with me and so anytime scheduled will all be dedicated to caring for your little one. Please contact me with any additional questions! My availability is more flexible over weekends as I currently work a standard Monday-Friday schedule. Weekdays will be limited to early morning or late evening walks/visits. I am located in a central location and am happy to take your pet on a good long walk, or care for your pet in your home. Daycare services can be requested but limited to weekends only in order to receive my full attention and care.
“Thanks so much! We just got home to happy cats and gerbils. It was such a relief being able to be away and know they were in good hands and to get lots of updates and photos.”

“Marta was amazing with our cat! She spent a lot of time getting to know our cat and made sure she was really well looked after. Our cat wasn't even fussed when we came home, she had such a good time with Marta! Would not hesitate to use Marta again and would recommend for all your pet care needs :)”

“Iris did an amazing job taking care of our kitties Lucifer and Kōjin! They were immediately comfortable with her and they definitely enjoyed their time with her. She made time for enrichment activities and playtime, and gave plenty of detailed updates which we really appreciated. It’s really nice to have a fellow cat lover care for your fur babies. I’m sure the boys would love to see her again :)”

“We just returned from a relaxing vacation and found our kitties to be completely content. Thanks for your care and attention to the house and our cats. I would highly recommend Isobel and hope to have her return in the future! Thanks for everything!”

“Krysten did an amazing job looking after our golden retriever puppy. We were a little hesitant leaving our dog but Krysten put us totally at ease. She was very affectionate with Goldie, sent us multiple updates each day and left our place in immaculate condition. We will definitely have her back next time we go away!”

“Eunice house-sat for our two cats at very short notice and provided wonderful care. She was flexible, communicative and left the house in perfect in order and the kitties happy and content. Thank you!”

“Luis (aka Jose) was wonderful with our anxious Rottie cross. He won her over in no time, and gave her some great long walks. Luis is very good-hearted, and I would absolutely ask him again to care for our dog and cat when we go away.”

“Charlie & Sam were amazing - they are both so positive and enthusiastic. They were so sweet and diligent in caring for our dog while we were out of town, sending regular updates and adapting to our dog’s needs as she has reactive tendencies and was nursing a small injury while they were here. They also left our place spotless! We’d love to have them stay and care for our girl again. Thank you Charlie & Sam!!”

“Judy stayed with Spider for three nights and took amazing care of him. I always look for in-house boarding when I leave because Spider is a creature of habit and enjoys routine. Judy came by to meet us first, Spider ran straight to her and was very excited to get to know her! Judy asked great questions and took the time to learn about Spider’s care. When she came by for boarding she had great communication with many updates and photos/videos of her stay with Spider. I had a great trip and could rest assured everything was fine at home. We will definitely book Judy again and are happy to have found her :)”

“This is my first time booking with Rover and I was very anxious, as Rhubarb is my heart. Anna and Vladimir were a fantastic choice! Rhu took to them right away and it was so nice to see the photos and updates that Anna sent me while away. She was very communicative and responsive and put my mind at ease in knowing that they treated my little pup with the love and care as if she were their own. Since getting back home, Rhu has been a little sad as she misses them, so I take that as a sign that they really are the best and bonded closely with her. They stayed at my home and left it very clean, maybe even more so that I do normally which was also nice to return to after an absence. I would not hesitate in recommending Anna and Vladimir and will be booking with them again.”

“Mariia and Vinny loved Chewie like he was their own. He was very relaxed and happy when we got back. They were professional and communicative and I would recommend them to care for anyone’s pet.”

“Chayanit stayed with Jack in the hotel room and took him for walks, while I was out. She did a wonderful job and both times, I found a very happy pup, when I returned. Chayanit is a lovely young lady. It was easy to communicate with her and she was punctual and flexible. Chayanit has a calm demeanour, which is great for my somewhat high-strung Blue Heeler. I was very happy with the service she provided and will most definitely contact her next time I am in Vancouver. Thank you so much Chayanit! You are the best!!!”

“Jessica took excellent care of our beloved Coco and Vivian while we were away. There was an access issue to my place (my fault), but she quickly figured it out and handled it well. She was a lifesaver! We appreciate her great care and the happy Coco and Vivian. Highly recommend her! 😻”

“Ciara was really wonderful and made my first experience using Rover really smooth and comforting. Her communication was prompt and she made me feel very at ease knowing she was looking at my dog in my home. I would highly recommend Ciara.”

Afnan was a great house and cat sitter. We booked last minute, but she still made time to meet us and Spud before we left. Our home was clean and tidy when we got back, and our cat was well fed and happy. He is usually very nervous of new people, but Afnan sent us updates showing them getting along just fine! I would work with her again for sure.

Katya was so great! She came by for a meet and greet beforehand which was awesome. Sent great pet updates, checked in with us and sent photos, and made sure our pets would be covered time wise until we could make it home from our trip. Super calm and conscientious! Would definitely hire again!

Bernard house sat and watched my two dogs and was very reliable and communicative. One of my dogs doesn’t always do great meeting new people so he took the time for a meet and greet and she warmed up to him very quickly. He gave consistent updates and I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs with him for the first time. The house was also left very clean after.

Anna provided excellent care to our dog and home for the three days that she was here. Communication was easy throughout the stay, and Anna took the time to come visit before we left for a tour and orientation. She sent many photos while we were away, and it was clear that our dog was happy and comfortable. The house was left in perfect condition for our return. We would love to have Anna back again, and we highly recommend her care to others.
Oksana is amazing! We're very happy with her drop-in services, our cats fell in love with her immediately. She sent lots of photos of our cats eating and playing. As newcomers to Rover, Oksana also helped guide us through the different sitting options which can be easy to mess up. She's also a great communicator which is a relief when you're busy planning a trip, worried about your pets and figuring out logistics. We'd definitely work with Oksana again in the future!

We had a very relaxing few days away knowing that Caitlin and Meghan were staying in our home with our dog. They were easy to communicate with, arrived when they said they would, and sent us a couple of photos. Our dog had recently injured her leg and they were fine with giving medication. When we got back, our dog seemed very relaxed and our house was spotless.

Yagmur was amazing with our dog Maya! She was able to look after her at very short notice and she made Maya feel very comfortable, even though she can be quite anxious at time. Yagmur sent lots of updates and photos and left our house neat and tidy when we returned. Would highly recommend!

Marta was an excellent sitter for Cosmo. She was very attentive to the instructions we gave her regarding his care. She sent several photos and videos during the time she was with him, so that we could stay updated about how things were going. Overall it was a great experience for all involved. I am very grateful for her help and I can definitely recommend her as someone who could do a great job taking care of anyone's pet.

Ahmed was exceptional with Margo. Since she is a very anxious dog, he took the time to get to know her at her own pace and earn her trust, which immediately put us at ease. We received daily updates and photos, and when we came home, Margo was relaxed and showed no signs of anxiety. Her routine had been perfectly maintained, which was very important to us. We have complete confidence in Ahmed, and most importantly, Margo absolutely adores him. We wouldn’t hesitate for a second to leave Margo in his care again. Thank you again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Vancouver on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,200 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Vancouver. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Vancouver maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Vancouver walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vancouver choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
