“Jordyn was great with our sweet but high-maintenance little guy! Tucker has separation anxiety and a few quirks, but she handled everything perfectly and we came home to a very calm, happy dog. She was easy to communicate with, super chill, and clearly very capable. It gave us total peace of mind knowing he was in good hands while we were out. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Sunny took care of my dog for 2 days. Previous to Sunny taking care of my dog the only people who have taken care of my dog have been family and friends my dog had already been acquainted with so I was a little nervous about leaving her with a stranger. From the beginning at the meet & greet I found Sunny friendly, calm & a good communicator so I felt at ease leaving Skyy with her. Sunny stayed in contact with me updating me about my dog & providing lots of photos. My neighbours were also very impressed with her after meeting her on dog walks and wanted information on where I found her in case they need a pet sitter. I highly recommend Sunny and will book again if I need a sitter. Thanks Sunny!!”

“Michelle was so easy and accommodating to ask for help, I'm really grateful to her readiness and flexibility with her time to help out watch my puppy. She's fast at communication and very easy going, and my boy took to her right away. Very happy to have worked with her and will be very happy to hire for her help again should I need it! Thank you Michelle.”

“Nasrin was a fantastic sitter for our big dog. He’s sometimes apprehensive with new people, but Nasrin approached with confidence and care. We would recommend Nasrin to anyone who needs pet sitting with a big dog. We look forward to rebooked with her in the future.”

“Samia was great! She watched our dog after a last minute appt in our home with Gizmo, she was attentive, even noticed he had redness on his paw and scheduled a vet appt. Gizmo loved hanging out with her we appreciate the last minute schedule and how kind she was.”

“Was very pleased with Leila's dog sitting service! She was very sweet & knew all the right questions to ask about my dogs' care. She wasn't even phased by hearing my dog sleeps on the pillow next to me! She also sent me pics of Marti which I really liked:) She kept my place very clean, which was nice to come home to after a weekend away. I will definitely recommend her to my friends!!”

About: Hi! I’ve been around dogs for most of my life and genuinely enjoy spending time with pets. Over the years, I’ve helped friends and neighbors with dog sitting and walking, and it’s something I truly love doing. I’m excited to turn that passion into a side hustle where I can care for pets while helping owners feel at ease. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive to every dog’s personality and needs — whether that means going for walks, playtime, keeping routines consistent, or simply giving them company and care while you’re away. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone, and I always aim to provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment. I’d also be happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand so you and your pet can feel completely comfortable before booking. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry friend! I work full-time as a IT engineer, and most of my work is remote, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend quality time caring for pets throughout the day. I’m comfortable with both pet sitting at your home and regular drop-ins or walks, while still maintaining a reliable routine for your dog. I also have my own vehicle, so getting around for walks, visits, or overnight stays is easy for me across the Metro Vancouver area, preferably Surrey and new west I’m available on both weekdays and weekends, and I kindly ask for around 3 days’ notice whenever possible so I can plan my schedule properly and give your pet the attention they deserve. I am someone who values responsibility and consistency, and I will make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away.
About: I have dogs of different breeds in my home since I was 7 years old. I have been taking care for dogs of all ages for over 17 years. I work from home 3 days a week, so I am open to come during lunch break or after work, also I often home on the weekend. It depends on the animal. I can take the cage with an animal home. Mostly open to provide service at pet's owner place. Generally cats do not like to be taken to a different home.
“We were lucky to find Natalie, she was a fantastic pet sitter for our cat, sent many photos and videos and was very clean in our home. From the moment I met her I liked her and so did our cat. I would recommend Natalie to anyone and hope she will let sit for us again!”

“We had the pleasure of having Cara look after our dog, Finn, and she was absolutely wonderful! She kept us updated every day with photos and messages, which gave us such peace of mind while we were away. Finn looked so happy and well cared for the entire time. On top of that, we came home to a spotless house, Cara even went the extra mile and washed the linens. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and thoughtful dog sitter. She truly treats your fur baby like her own!”

“Chris was so professional and amazing with our cat. He followed all our instructions, communicated frequently and shared some great photos of her having a great time! He went above and beyond and vacuumed the litter area for us as well.”

“Deb was amazing with Tennessee! They got along perfectly. Deb was great to deal with coming to meet Tennessee a couple times before the stay so she was used to her. They played hung out and even a couple head scratches I’m told lol!”

“Stephanie was the most amazing dog sitter and house sitter. For our first time using rover we feel really blessed to have had her look after our home and Niko. Stephanie provided videos and updates while we were away and this was so appreciated. The house was left in great order and I think our Niko really misses her. She is a lovely lady!”

“I am rebooking Kendra because she has been the absolute best cat sitter I have ever come across, I can tell she is dedicated and loving, she sends the absolute best photos and updates! I'm happy to say I come back to a happy and healthy cat ❤️”

About: Hi, I’m Sharanya! As a lifelong pet lover, I know that different stages of a pet's life require entirely different kinds of care. Having loved and cared for my own Labrador for 8 wonderful years as he grew into his golden years, I have a deep, personal understanding of senior dog care. I know firsthand the patience, gentle pacing, and specialized attention older dogs need to feel safe, comfortable, and respected. At the same time, I love working with high-energy puppies! I’m happy to help reinforce your positive training routines, housebreaking schedules, and socialization boundaries so your pup stays on track while you're away. Whether your best friend needs a slow, gentle stroll or a structured puppy playtime, I am dedicated to keeping their routine seamless and stress-free. I can't wait to meet your furry family members! I'm working hybrid and work for home for most of the days and I would have lots of time to play have spend quality time with your pets. I have plenty of space in my apartment and also a huge balcony with high fence and also floor to ceiling windows in my living room. Most of the pets love to sit and enjoy the view outside.
About: I have taken care of dogs starting with my puppy about 15 years ago. Kilo was a puppy rottweiler and I rescued him from a potential life of dog fighting. From that day on Kilo was my best friend and companion in everything from work, to school, and home. I learned a lot from my time with Kilo about proper training and pet care, as well as the patience it takes to be a caring sitter. After Kilo I helped my sisters with training and exercising their big dogs (Pitty, and Husky) as well as attending therapy dog training with my partners 2 dogs (Havanese). I am comfortable with administering oral and topical medications, and know about various training and developmental theories for dogs. I cannot wait to meet your and your pets! I am currently working freelance and I have a lot of free time to spend with your wonderful pets. When I do have a gig I am generally only out of the house for 5-6 hours max. I will follow all your routines and guidelines as stated, while also making sure to tire them out so they dont have any anxiety while you're gone.
“We are so grateful we found Aliya! She stayed at our home and took amazing care of Chewy while we were away. From the very beginning, she was friendly, easy to communicate with, and really made us feel at ease. Our boy absolutely adores her—we could tell from the happy updates and photos she sent that he was getting lots of love, attention, and playtime. Coming home to a relaxed, content dog (and a tidy house!) was the best feeling. It’s such a relief knowing we have someone we can fully trust with our dog and our home. We’ll definitely be booking with Aliya again and can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for a sitter who truly cares.”

About: Hi there my name is Lucy. I am a Surrey based petsitter who is well trained in the care of many small and large animals. I previously worked on a rescue farm and have owned, fostered, and rescued many pets. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, mice, rats, fish, frogs, ducks, chicken, horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, Guinea pigs, rabbits….! I can clean, feed, medicate and treat your babies with much love! My schedule changes throughout the year- currently open for overnight sittings for between 2-7 day blocks. When I’m back at my regular work schedule I will alter my availability to reflect this (typically unable to provide sitting throughout the day time/week days, but still able for drop in visits and walks in the evenings). I will follow your routine and happy to be flexible. Sleep on the bed, in a crate, potty breaks in the yard/on a walk… you name it. Want updates and photos? No problem :)

Samia was great! She watched our dog after a last minute appt in our home with Gizmo, she was attentive, even noticed he had redness on his paw and scheduled a vet appt. Gizmo loved hanging out with her we appreciate the last minute schedule and how kind she was.

Best Experience with Jordyn! We left our new rescue dog Bella with Jordyn for 10 days, and she was amazing! Jordyn stayed at our house and took excellent care of Bella. She sent us photos and updates, which really helped put us at ease. We live in a small, tight-knit community, and several of our neighbours have commented on how happy and comfortable Bella was with Jordyn during walks. We would definitely recommend Jordyn to anyone looking for a pet sitter!
Alison was amazing, this was the first time leaving our two dogs with a sitter and we were anxious about it. One dog is hard to walk and lead reactive and the other doesn’t like too much change. Alison quickly found a routine that worked perfectly for both of them. She was aware and attentive to their unique needs. We loved getting the videos and photos and seeing the happy and relaxed made it much easier to enjoy our vacation- Alison is highly recommended
Alicia was the best! She and our 9 year old bulldog Gilda were besties from the moment they met. It was clear that Alicia has the energy that dog automatically trust and feel safe with. Gilda had an eye infection and Alicia was great about giving her eye drops and keeping us updated. She left our apartment immaculate and was all around perfect dog sitter. She kept us updated daily and made sure we knew about anything we needed to know. Would recommend her a million times over and we will happily book with her again.

Hillary is absolutely amazing, and we’re so grateful we chose her to care for our cat. She’s experienced, kind, knowledgeable—and incredibly funny. She went above and beyond for our “Golden Girl,” Noel, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again and again.

Lynda is a kind and gentle soul who absolutely LOVES animals ... especially dogs. She receives instructions well and is open and honest about her limitations and concerns. Our pack (5 english springer spaniels) were well looked after: never missed a meal, behaved for her by obeying her commands and molded quickly to her routine. Lynda took good care of our home while we were away, performing the duties outlined to her. I would HIGHLY recommend Lynda for your house-sitting / dog-sitting needs.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,128 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Delta. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Delta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Delta walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Delta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
