“Riley watched Archie in our home for over two weeks over Christmas. We were travelling abroad and it was a huge relief having Riley house sit. She was amazing with Archie. Riley stuck to his schedule so he could have a normal routine. She was great at communicating even though we were in different time zones. I have used Riley before and would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and consistent sitter.”

“Vivian is wonderfully with our big boy.. I love she keeps us posted on how much our baby boy doesn't know we aren't even around.. lol. At one point she had him listening to her commands in Portuguese.. lol thank you for taking care of our big big baby. Suzie G”

“Morgan and Roberto were absolutely fantastic house and dog sitters. They were easy to communicate with, came to meet our pup before their stay, and took exceptional care of our home and dog. I felt very safe with them having our dog and they left the house immaculate. Our dog has particular needs with medication and walks and they were attentive to her care. I highly recommend them!”

“Paula took care of our 12 week old puppy as he was recovering from his vaccinations. Paula cleaned up multiple rounds of vomit with no complaints. She was attentive and caring, giving us updates throughout the night. Booking with her was easy as she responds quickly. She even rearranged her schedule so it would fit ours better. We will definitely be reaching out when we need a sitter in the future!”

“Cara did a fantastic job taking care of our two babies (cats). Both animals required brief visits to the vet and Cara managed these adventures smoothly. She also assisted us with other issues while we were away. Our home looked much better on return than it did on departure. We were concerned our cats would pack their little bags and move to Cara's home on our return. Cara is a wonderful find and we have absolute confidence in her.”

About: What sets me apart? I am confident with large dogs, including farm and guard dogs! I discovered a love for big dogs when my mum adopted a hound mix who grew to be a 120lb wrecking ball of dopey energy. I've had a soft spot for the big ones ever since, and take particular pleasure in befriending them. I believe communication between human and dog is critical. A person's body language and tone of voice can say more to a dog than words ever could. That means I physically get down onto their level for affection, I use positive reinforcement consistently, I talk with them throughout walks, and I keep an eye on their body language as well for signs of happiness, fear, apprehension, etc. I'm confident walking on city streets, in forests/on trails, and in off-leash zones. I just need to know what your pup is most comfortable with and we'll go from there! APRIL 1 - NOV 1 availability Mon - 12:30pm to 8:00pm Tues - 12:30pm to 8:00pm Weds - unavailable Thurs - 12:30pm to 8:00pm Fri - 12:30pm to 8:00pm Sat - 12:30pm to 8:00pm Sun - 6:00am to 8:00pm I work at my job most mornings so will generally not be able to accommodate morning requests. I am keen to operate within the parameters and routines you've established inside and outside your home, in order to maintain continuity for your pet. This includes checking in with you for specific command words, encouraged and discouraged behaviours and their corresponding rewards/corrections, social situations to work on or avoid, favourite routes, etc. Personally, my pet cat receives as much attention as I can give him. He is highly affectionate, so is usually parked on my lap or somewhere nearby. I used treats/positive reinforcement to train him to shake a paw and sit down. My great fear for my little guy, and for all pets, really, is that he is bored, understimulated, or lonely. Because of this, I pay special attention to making sure that he is being physically and mentally stimulated in addition to affection. That means exercise and puzzles! I love to find simple games whether we're outside or inside - find-the-thing, makeshift tunnels to run through (if you're brave), seeking out tiny forest creatures to discover, etc. I'm always looking for new brain games for dogs, so if you have a favourite, let me know!

I currently am a full time student about to graduate from SFU next year and work full time for the summer (7:30am-3:30pm). I am extremely flexible and can work my schedule around whenever you need! “Megan was fantastic with watching our kittens for the night. She sent lots of pictures, videos and kept us updated at all times. Our shy kittens were comfortable with her super quick and adapted well. She accommodated our schedule on Christmas and was great with communication. She made time to met our kittens prior which made us feel very comfortable. Would highly recommend booking Megan for your pet sitting needs!”

“Stef was great. She left our home sparkling clean and communicated several times during the one night stay. One of my dogs is eighteen and has many medical issues. He required meds every three hours through the day and I came back to him in perfect health. Stef was very good about making sure the meds were right and asking questions when she needed clarification. She also played with my other dogs who absolutely adored her and her partner.”

“Adelaide was simply awesome! She met with us and Ellie before the scheduled house sitting, , and Ellie loved her at first sight. Adelaide took wonderful care of Ellie during our 3-day vacation, giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. She was incredibly punctual when visiting our house, feeding Ellie, and taking her out for walks a couple of times a day. We loved the photo and text updates she sent us throughout the trip! This was our first experience hiring a dog sitter, and we were so pleased with how professional, reliable, flexible, and caring Adelaide was. We strongly recommend her to any dog owner who wants the absolute best care for their pooches!”

“Ibrahim did a fantastic job watching my two dogs while I was abroad. This included administering daily medicine to one of them. He kept the house very clean, and was communicative while I was away, updating me on how the dogs were doing. I will definitely hire him again to watch my two dogs!”

Couldn’t have been more fortunate to find Tina available on short notice. Wonderful lady with years of dog experience. Tina bonded with our dog Molly right away. We were able to enjoy our time away worry free knowing Molly was in great hands Highly recommend Tina!

Tatyana was wonderful! We got lots of updates with pictures and videos of Roux while we were away. She did some training with her as well. Tatyana stayed at our house and took very good care of it as well. And any time she needed to step out for a bit, her lovely mom came to spend time with Roux! We will definitely book with Tatyana again.

Tara was so attentive and a great communicator. She was very clear and upfront about her timing and her response time was extremely fast. I think our dog Oscar most certainly enjoyed her care, company and outings. I would highly recommend Tara to anyone who needs a Petsit and a house sit!
We used Rover for the first time and selected Lori to look after our cat Ringo for a week. We couldn’t have been happier. Lori is absolutely fantastic! Lori met with us a few days before we left to go over Ringo’s needs and routine. While we were away, she did a great job keeping in regular communication with us and providing us with photos. We came home and it was as though we’d never left. Ringo was in great spirits and it was clear that he had been well taken care of by Lori. In addition, Lori took out garbage and recycling on garbage day and left our house spotless. We wouldn’t have even known that someone had been there. We will definitely use Lori again and again. She’s more than a five star… She’s a six star! Thanks Lori.

Davinia was an absolute gem watching my two fur babies!! I don't know who's separation anxiety is worse, theirs or mine, so leaving them for a week was very stressful for me, plus they are rescues from traumatic situations so they are still unsure about new people, especially my 3lb. chihuahua! They took to Davinia right away though, which is rate, but definitely put me at ease so I could actually enjoy my vacation and not worry the whole time. She sent updates and photos multiple times a day which worked perfect for me because I would have just been asking about them all the time otherwise. I'm so happy my littles were in such good hands and I that I have someone I can trust to look after them! Thank you so much Davinia!!

Jackie was fantastic taking care of all our animals. She loved our animals right away and vice versa. At our meet and greet she got down on the floor and won our temperamental Roxy over. Jackie left our home nicer than we had left it. We would use Jackie again in the future! Thank you Jackie from Liz, René and the zoo.

I can’t recommend Meara enough — words can’t fully express my gratitude for the incredible level of care she provided for our pets. While she was sitting for us, my dog became sick, and Meara reacted quickly, taking all the right steps to ensure our dear Cece was safe, healthy, and well cared for. She even took her to the vet in the middle of the night and handled everything like a true champion. Beyond that, she cared for our home beautifully and showered our pets with so much love and attention that my dog and cat truly became her best friends. We are deeply grateful for the exceptional care she gave and the way she went the extra mile in every way. Thank you, Meara!!! We’d welcome you back anytime to look after our beloved four-legged family members

Taryn was great with our 2 large dogs while we were away for the weekend! She was responsive in her messaging, took great care of the dogs and spoiled them with love, walks and treats! I would definitely recommend her for your pets and would use her again if we need! ☺️

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Coquitlam on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,127 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Coquitlam. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Coquitlam maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Coquitlam walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Coquitlam choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
