“Riley has now taken care of our 3 chihuahuas at least 3 times, and each time we are so happy with the care and attention she gives them. We are so grateful and highly recommend her services. She is very polite and respectful and trustworthy.”

“Morgan and Roberto are absolutely outstanding! They were so attentive and loving when it came to taking care of my dog. They often shared updates and photos which all brought a big smile to my face! Knowing my dog was in such capable and caring hands put me at ease. I highly recommend booking Morgan!”

“Olivia is conscientious, punctual and very well spoken. She was very good with Sasha, and we have already re-booked her to pet an house-sit during our next trip away. If you need someone to look after your pets, I highly recommend Olivia!”

“Leanne was awesome with my cats, one of them had a hard time to adjust to be without the family but she took the time to adjust the routine and find ways to make it work, at the end it was like they were friends from years! She sent updates and made sure my kitties had playtime and didn’t feel lonely. I would book her in the future.”

“Vivian accepted a long house and cat sitting position on short notice to help me when my arranged sitter had to cancel for an out of town emergency. She followed the instructions for Mo’s care closely and I came home to a healthy cat who was not suffering from any of his common stress related issues. The video updates she sent showed me she was indulging him in all his favourite activities and he was relaxed and at ease. I am very grateful for the care Vivian provided for Mo, he is healthy and as happy as a cat who is mad at their owner can be ;)”

About: What sets me apart? I am confident with large dogs, including farm and guard dogs! I discovered a love for big dogs when my mum adopted a hound mix who grew to be a 120lb wrecking ball of dopey energy. I've had a soft spot for the big ones ever since, and take particular pleasure in befriending them. I believe communication between human and dog is critical. A person's body language and tone of voice can say more to a dog than words ever could. That means I physically get down onto their level for affection, I use positive reinforcement consistently, I talk with them throughout walks, and I keep an eye on their body language as well for signs of happiness, fear, apprehension, etc. I'm confident walking on city streets, in forests/on trails, and in off-leash zones. I just need to know what your pup is most comfortable with and we'll go from there! APRIL 1 - NOV 1 availability Mon - 12:30pm to 8:00pm Tues - 12:30pm to 8:00pm Weds - unavailable Thurs - 12:30pm to 8:00pm Fri - 12:30pm to 8:00pm Sat - 12:30pm to 8:00pm Sun - 6:00am to 8:00pm I work at my job most mornings so will generally not be able to accommodate morning requests. I am keen to operate within the parameters and routines you've established inside and outside your home, in order to maintain continuity for your pet. This includes checking in with you for specific command words, encouraged and discouraged behaviours and their corresponding rewards/corrections, social situations to work on or avoid, favourite routes, etc. Personally, my pet cat receives as much attention as I can give him. He is highly affectionate, so is usually parked on my lap or somewhere nearby. I used treats/positive reinforcement to train him to shake a paw and sit down. My great fear for my little guy, and for all pets, really, is that he is bored, understimulated, or lonely. Because of this, I pay special attention to making sure that he is being physically and mentally stimulated in addition to affection. That means exercise and puzzles! I love to find simple games whether we're outside or inside - find-the-thing, makeshift tunnels to run through (if you're brave), seeking out tiny forest creatures to discover, etc. I'm always looking for new brain games for dogs, so if you have a favourite, let me know!
“Paula took great care of Max for 3 nights/days. She sent plenty of pictures and Max was happy when we got back. Most importantly she followed the care schedule for his meds that were left for him to take 2 times a day. Would definitely use her again!”

“We had the pleasure of having Cara look after our dog, Finn, and she was absolutely wonderful! She kept us updated every day with photos and messages, which gave us such peace of mind while we were away. Finn looked so happy and well cared for the entire time. On top of that, we came home to a spotless house, Cara even went the extra mile and washed the linens. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and thoughtful dog sitter. She truly treats your fur baby like her own!”

About: Growing up, my family had 2 large dogs. I have always had a love for animals, big and small. At this stage in my life, I do not have any pets of my own. I am a loving aunty to my sister’s two dogs, Gus and Hopps; my dad’s dog, Ollie; my uncle’s dog, Moffat, and my sister-in-law’s cat named Ben. Not to mention, an honorary aunt to countless friends’ pets. I have had the pleasure of pet-sitting dogs and cats of all ages, including an adorable 15 year old Boston Terrier with various health issues requiring timed medication and a rescue dog that required daily physiotherapy exercises and massage for some muscle and joint pain he was experiencing. I work a full-time job Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Depending on the situation, I can do a morning walk before work, an evening walk after work, and a later walk before bed. My partner is often happy to assist with a lunch-time walk as needed and based on the comfort of the owner. I am a quiet and respectful working professional who is committed to providing loving care to your beloved pets in the comfort and familiarity of their own home while you are away.
“Megan was fantastic with watching our kittens for the night. She sent lots of pictures, videos and kept us updated at all times. Our shy kittens were comfortable with her super quick and adapted well. She accommodated our schedule on Christmas and was great with communication. She made time to met our kittens prior which made us feel very comfortable. Would highly recommend booking Megan for your pet sitting needs!”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a farm, where caring for animals wasn’t just a responsibility, it was a way of life. Over the years, I’ve also shared my home with beloved dogs and cats of my own, giving me a deep understanding of the love, patience, and consistency they need to feel safe and happy. I know that every pet has their own personality, routine, and comfort level, and I take the time to understand the animals, emotional, and physical needs and adapt accordingly. As an experienced Airbnb host, I understand the importance of respecting your home as carefully as I care for your pets. Whether your companion needs energetic walks, gentle companionship, playtime, or quiet cuddles, I tailor my care to their individual needs. I am comfortable administering medications as directed, monitoring your pet for any changes in health or behaviour, providing wound care, and skilfully and confidently following veterinary instructions after appointments or treatments. My goal is simple: to ensure you return home to happy, healthy pets and a home that has been cared for with the same attention and respect I bestowed on my Short term rental property. I have the experience and expertise to handle any event that occurs in a capable calm manner. This is my retirement job and I’m so excited about it. It is in my nature to nurture animals homes, and of course, my kids and grandkids. I am a positive influence and addition in any role that I take on. This is also an opportunity for me to be active and connected, which is very important to me. Pets are best served by being in their own space where they are familiar and comfortable. Walks are provided that are adventurous or calm, depending on the needs of my current walking companion. Attention to detail will be provided in their maintenance feeding routine and healthcare guidelines provided by their owner and or veterinarian. I am skilled at administering medication and providing wound care.
“Adelaide was simply awesome! She met with us and Ellie before the scheduled house sitting, , and Ellie loved her at first sight. Adelaide took wonderful care of Ellie during our 3-day vacation, giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. She was incredibly punctual when visiting our house, feeding Ellie, and taking her out for walks a couple of times a day. We loved the photo and text updates she sent us throughout the trip! This was our first experience hiring a dog sitter, and we were so pleased with how professional, reliable, flexible, and caring Adelaide was. We strongly recommend her to any dog owner who wants the absolute best care for their pooches!”

About: Hi there my name is Lucy. I am a Surrey based petsitter who is well trained in the care of many small and large animals. I previously worked on a rescue farm and have owned, fostered, and rescued many pets. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, mice, rats, fish, frogs, ducks, chicken, horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, Guinea pigs, rabbits….! I can clean, feed, medicate and treat your babies with much love! My schedule changes throughout the year- currently open for overnight sittings for between 2-7 day blocks. When I’m back at my regular work schedule I will alter my availability to reflect this (typically unable to provide sitting throughout the day time/week days, but still able for drop in visits and walks in the evenings). I will follow your routine and happy to be flexible. Sleep on the bed, in a crate, potty breaks in the yard/on a walk… you name it. Want updates and photos? No problem :)

“We can’t thank Taylor enough for the wonderful care they gave our dog while we were away. It’s clear she truly love animals, as they bonded right away. The regular check-ins and photos meant so much. We’d trust her again in a heartbeat!”

“Darlee jumped right in to look after our two puppies and 6 year old dog. They had a fun evening with her and she was very comfortable and communicative. We would definitely recommend Darlee to look after your pet.”

About: I grew up on a small farm in Germany surrounded by animals, including dogs and cats. I cared for my own dog for over 14 years, including her senior years, and learned how important patience, routine, and paying attention to the small changes in an older pet can be. I enjoy spending time with animals, whether that means going for walks, feeding them, playing with them, or simply keeping them company. Every pet has its own personality, and I try to adapt to what makes them feel comfortable and relaxed. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pets and your home in someone else’s care. I’ll look after them responsibly, treat them with kindness, and keep you updated while you’re away. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give your pets the time, attention, and companionship they deserve. Leanne was awesome with my cats, one of them had a hard time to adjust to be without the family but she took the time to adjust the routine and find ways to make it work, at the end it was like they were friends from years! She sent updates and made sure my kitties had playtime and didn’t feel lonely. I would book her in the future.

Paula was incredible! Communication was amazing with thorough updates, including video and pictures. Paula was thoughtful and support my concerns having never left my senior chihuahua before with worry around his anxiety and attachment. Paula took the time to meet us first, walk the neighbourhood and go over routine. I was comforted deeply knowing Paula was in my home and OC was cared for. Highly recommend! Thank you Paula! 10/10❤️

Couldn’t have been more fortunate to find Tina available on short notice. Wonderful lady with years of dog experience. Tina bonded with our dog Molly right away. We were able to enjoy our time away worry free knowing Molly was in great hands Highly recommend Tina!

Tatyana was wonderful! We got lots of updates with pictures and videos of Roux while we were away. She did some training with her as well. Tatyana stayed at our house and took very good care of it as well. And any time she needed to step out for a bit, her lovely mom came to spend time with Roux! We will definitely book with Tatyana again.

Tara was so attentive and a great communicator. She was very clear and upfront about her timing and her response time was extremely fast. I think our dog Oscar most certainly enjoyed her care, company and outings. I would highly recommend Tara to anyone who needs a Petsit and a house sit!
Davinia was an absolute gem watching my two fur babies!! I don't know who's separation anxiety is worse, theirs or mine, so leaving them for a week was very stressful for me, plus they are rescues from traumatic situations so they are still unsure about new people, especially my 3lb. chihuahua! They took to Davinia right away though, which is rate, but definitely put me at ease so I could actually enjoy my vacation and not worry the whole time. She sent updates and photos multiple times a day which worked perfect for me because I would have just been asking about them all the time otherwise. I'm so happy my littles were in such good hands and I that I have someone I can trust to look after them! Thank you so much Davinia!!

Jackie was fantastic taking care of all our animals. She loved our animals right away and vice versa. At our meet and greet she got down on the floor and won our temperamental Roxy over. Jackie left our home nicer than we had left it. We would use Jackie again in the future! Thank you Jackie from Liz, René and the zoo.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Coquitlam on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 3,032 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Coquitlam. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Coquitlam maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Coquitlam walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Coquitlam choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
