“Darlee jumped right in to look after our two puppies and 6 year old dog. They had a fun evening with her and she was very comfortable and communicative. We would definitely recommend Darlee to look after your pet.”

“Ress was absolutely amazing and took wonderful care of my two large dogs and home for 3 weeks! She handled my German Shepherd’s leash reactivity and separation anxiety very well and was able to adapt to help him adjust to the changes. She had great communication with us and kept us well informed and sent update pictures throughout the sit! I highly recommend and book again!”

About: I grew up on a small farm in Germany surrounded by animals, including dogs and cats. I cared for my own dog for over 14 years, including her senior years, and learned how important patience, routine, and paying attention to the small changes in an older pet can be. I enjoy spending time with animals, whether that means going for walks, feeding them, playing with them, or simply keeping them company. Every pet has its own personality, and I try to adapt to what makes them feel comfortable and relaxed. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pets and your home in someone else’s care. I’ll look after them responsibly, treat them with kindness, and keep you updated while you’re away. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give your pets the time, attention, and companionship they deserve. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company, I enjoy making sure they feel safe, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away. I always do my best to accommodate each pet’s routine. I understand that every pet has its own routine and personality, and I respect that. I carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication, and daily habits to keep your pet comfortable and stress-free. I treat every home with great respect, keep it clean and secure, and provide regular updates so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind.
“Riley has now taken care of our 3 chihuahuas at least 3 times, and each time we are so happy with the care and attention she gives them. We are so grateful and highly recommend her services. She is very polite and respectful and trustworthy.”

About: I’ve loved dogs ever since my grandma adopted a pregnant pitty and watched her raise 8 puppies! I’ve dog walked, boarded, cat sat, boarded on and off my whole adult life. I’ve also worked on a dairy farm and a hobby farm including sheep and chickens. I recently lost my fur baby in Dec, 2025, and have been missing animals in my life and home but am not ready to have another yet. Hoping to share my love and care with yours for now! I currently work part time, approx 9am to 2pm. I have two children, 6&9, who I then pick up from school and am home by 3. I take dogs in my care for a morning walk around 7am before school drop off and again in the afternoon(or evening depending on the weather). I currently have no pets, our friends in the basement suit have two cats, if your pet likes friends. If not, it’s easy to keep them separate in their own suit. I have a large yard that is not fully fenced so I take dogs out for bathroom breaks on leash or long tether.
“Kelsey is the best!! My pup was so well taken care of and Kelsey gave amazing check-ins everyday. I came home and Lilah didn’t want to see her go. Highly recommend! THANK YOU KELSEY!”

“Daria’s kind, calm, and grounded energy was the perfect match for my dog. She was caring, thoughtful, and was fantastic with communication and sending photos! She went above and beyond to accommodate. I would highly recommend Daria!”

About: *Willing to go off the app!* Although I've never owned a dog myself, that's because I've always understood the level of time, commitment, and responsibility they deserve. I grew up around dogs, have lived with dogs for much of my life, and regularly care for my parents' two Toy Australian Shepherds whenever they're away. They're a mother and daughter duo with very different personalities and needs. The mother is a senior with hip issues who benefits from extra patience and mobility support, while her daughter has anxiety and does best with a calm, reassuring approach and a consistent routine. Being Toy Australian Shepherds, they're also incredibly intelligent and active, so I'm used to dogs that thrive on structure, engagement, and paying close attention to their individual needs. While I don't have experience with every unique medical or behavioural situation, I've been around a wide variety of dog personalities, energy levels, and temperaments. I pay close attention to canine body language, respect each dog's boundaries, and believe that building trust is far more important than forcing interactions. Whether I'm taking your dog for a walk, stopping by for a drop-in visit, spending the day with them, or caring for them overnight, I'll treat them with the same patience, attention, and respect I give the dogs in my own life. If your dog has a routine or needs I'm unfamiliar with, I'm always happy to do my research beforehand and carefully follow your instructions. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away! Right now I have a pretty open and flexible schedule, so I'm able to work around most pet care needs. Some mornings and around midday I'm busy babysitting my baby brother, but outside of that I have lots of availability for walks, drop ins, day visits, and overnight stays. I like planning ahead and making sure I have enough time to give each pet the attention they deserve instead of trying to rush from one booking to the next! I'll mostly be caring for pets in their own home because that's where they're usually the happiest and most comfortable. My goal is to keep their routine as normal as possible by following your instructions closely, respecting your home, and making sure your pet feels safe while you're away. In some cases I may be able to care for pets in my home, but it will depend on the pet. I live in a small one bedroom basement suite with my two senior cats, who are very sweet but also very timid. Because of that, I'd only consider pets that are calm, cat friendly, and comfortable in a quieter environment. No matter where I'm caring for your pet, I'll pay close attention to their behaviour, body language, and routine. I know every animal is different, and I think noticing the little things can make a big difference in helping them feel comfortable.
“We are so happy to have found this service and particularly happy to have Frank stay with our pets. Our dog, Baia, made a new buddy in Frank. He took great care of both our dog and cat. Loved the updates and pictures. We came home to our house just as we left it; so thoughtful and courteous.”

About: I've owned animals of all kinds for my whole life, including dogs, cats, snakes, bunnies, and chickens. I am very comfortable with reactive animals and understand that each pet is different and unique! I love being around animals and ensuring they get the best possible care. I am currently working part time and taking university classes. However, I have plenty of time in the mornings and evenings (and sometimes all day) to take care of your pets! I am more than able to fit pet sitting into my schedule as well as my part time job is flexible. Whenever I walk a dog I ensure that they get plenty of time to smell around and get proper enrichment! For any pet sitting services, I am a diligent and kind sitter who will give your pet lots of attention while respecting their boundaries and routines.
“We had the pleasure of having Cara look after our dog, Finn, and she was absolutely wonderful! She kept us updated every day with photos and messages, which gave us such peace of mind while we were away. Finn looked so happy and well cared for the entire time. On top of that, we came home to a spotless house, Cara even went the extra mile and washed the linens. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and thoughtful dog sitter. She truly treats your fur baby like her own!”

About: Hi there my name is Lucy. I am a Surrey based petsitter who is well trained in the care of many small and large animals. I previously worked on a rescue farm and have owned, fostered, and rescued many pets. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, mice, rats, fish, frogs, ducks, chicken, horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, Guinea pigs, rabbits….! I can clean, feed, medicate and treat your babies with much love! My schedule changes throughout the year- currently open for overnight sittings for between 2-7 day blocks. When I’m back at my regular work schedule I will alter my availability to reflect this (typically unable to provide sitting throughout the day time/week days, but still able for drop in visits and walks in the evenings). I will follow your routine and happy to be flexible. Sleep on the bed, in a crate, potty breaks in the yard/on a walk… you name it. Want updates and photos? No problem :)
About: Hello there! My name is Kailyn and I am a very friendly, compassionate, enthusiastic, and self motivated individual who is a firm believer in giving back to the community and helping those in need in any way possible. I wake up every day wondering who will reach out to me next? Who will need my help? To help others is my mission. Help me help you! I am a fast responder and always eager to learn more to become a better pet parent. I totally understand what it’s like to have a busy schedule, so I am more than happy to help people balance their own when the need arises! I am reliable, meaning I will never leave the owner of a pet wondering if a sitter such as myself will ever arrive or not, and I am patient, knowing that an animal will not always act how you expect them to one hundred percent of the time. It does take a lot of patience and dedication. It is absolutely never a bad idea to get to know someone and their pet first before the owner feels they are comfortable leaving you with them. Making sure they’re a good fit! If you feel I am someone you wouldn’t mind looking after your furry friend, then please, feel free to contact me. I look forward to meeting you and your companion soon, and I hope you have yourself a wonderful day!
“Vivian is an exceptional cat sitter—trustworthy, reliable, and truly attentive. During my time away, she provided daily updates with adorable photos, which gave me great peace of mind. I always knew exactly when the medication was administered, and she never missed a beat in keeping me informed. She also went above and beyond by cleaning up the litter boxes and taking out the garbage before leaving, which speaks volumes about her care and professionalism. All of this shows what a dependable and considerate person Vivian is. I couldn’t ask for a better sitter for my cats and will absolutely be booking her again!”

“Amazing guy!! Went to Mexico and was so worried about leaving my 90 lb reactive dog but Jon was a pro. He stayed over for a week took care of my dog and cat. House was clean and my pets are so happy. Sent me pics and videos so I knew they were good!!! Highly recommend Jon for any pet sitting !”

“Iona looked after our pets and home for 2 weeks. She was great; our pets were healthy and happy, our house was spotless, and she communicated regularly. It was good to be on vacation and not have to worry about what was going on back home.”

“Dominique provided a fantastic service. She stayed in my house with my two 18 month old Boston Terriers for 10 days whiIe I was in Mexico . The dogs loved her. She walked them daily and sent me photo and text updates. She left my home in perfect shape and even watered my houseplants. I would thoroughly recommend Dominique and hope to use her services next time I'm away on vacation.”

About: Growing up, my family had 2 large dogs. I have always had a love for animals, big and small. At this stage in my life, I do not have any pets of my own. I am a loving aunty to my sister’s two dogs, Gus and Hopps; my dad’s dog, Ollie; my uncle’s dog, Moffat, and my sister-in-law’s cat named Ben. Not to mention, an honorary aunt to countless friends’ pets. I have had the pleasure of pet-sitting dogs and cats of all ages, including an adorable 15 year old Boston Terrier with various health issues requiring timed medication and a rescue dog that required daily physiotherapy exercises and massage for some muscle and joint pain he was experiencing. I work a full-time job Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Depending on the situation, I can do a morning walk before work, an evening walk after work, and a later walk before bed. My partner is often happy to assist with a lunch-time walk as needed and based on the comfort of the owner. I am a quiet and respectful working professional who is committed to providing loving care to your beloved pets in the comfort and familiarity of their own home while you are away.
“Emerson house sat for us and was fantastic from start to finish! She communicates well and is very accommodating. Our dog Toby was so comfortable and relaxed with her. We came home to a clean house and a happy pup! We will definitely reach out to rebook for future trips. Thanks Emerson!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Maple Ridge
Kelsey did an excellent job of taking care of our animals (2 cats, 1 dog and 3 chickens) while house sitting! It is very important for us to find someone capable as we have a very needy Shepsky. She even cleaned up some accidents and did other extras. Lots of updates and photos from her. She is very positive and caring. We will definitely use her in the future!

Omg, Viktoriia was amazing!. Very hard to find a new person for our animals and trust with our home. She stayed at our home for 2 weeks and almost daily we would get pictures, videos and updates of our animals and kept our home so clean even doing bedding daundry. More than impressed. Also was happy that if she had questions l, she was not shy to ask. Made me feel more comfortable with the care she was giving. Anyone would be lucky to have her. Would for sure use her services again.

We had an excellent experience with Marianne and Danna and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and reliable pet sitters. They took wonderful care of our dog, Luca, and our cats, Coco and Echo, while we were away. Luca can be sensitive when his routine changes, and Coco and Echo each have their own unique personalities, but Marianne and Danna were patient, attentive, and incredibly kind with all three of them. We especially appreciated the updates and communication throughout our trip. Knowing that our pets were receiving so much care and attention gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. When we returned home, Luca, Coco, and Echo were happy, healthy, and clearly well looked after. It was obvious that Marianne and Danna genuinely cared about our pets and treated them with love and respect. They also kept our house very neat and clean, just like we left it. Thank you both for taking such great care of our furry family. We are truly grateful and would happily trust you with Luca, Coco, and Echo again in the future!

We cannot say enough positive things about Megan. For our little family, the impact of introducing Megan to our reactive and fearful dog Maggie has been overwhelmingly positive. Megan was patient and understanding throughout the slow introductions, letting Maggie get to know her slowly and with trust. Leaving Maggie in someone else's hands for a week was made so much easier with Megan's confidence that everything would be ok and Maggie would be absolutely fine. And Megan was right. We wont hesitate to book Megan again for future needs, in fact, shes part of the family now.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Maple Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Maple Ridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maple Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
