Darlee took amazing care of our home and cats while we were away. Both cats are seniors and need frequent wet food feedings as well as one is diabetic and needs oral medication at set times. They are very needy needing lots of attention and when we got home they seemed perky and happy. She took great care of them, communicated well, and left the home in a very clean shape even putting her bedding in washer before she left. We were very impressed.

Ress was absolutely amazing and took wonderful care of my two large dogs and home for 3 weeks! She handled my German Shepherd’s leash reactivity and separation anxiety very well and was able to adapt to help him adjust to the changes. She had great communication with us and kept us well informed and sent update pictures throughout the sit! I highly recommend and book again!

About: Although I've never owned a dog myself, that's because I've always understood the level of time, commitment, and responsibility they deserve. I grew up around dogs, have lived with dogs for much of my life, and regularly care for my parents' two Toy Australian Shepherds whenever they're away. They're a mother and daughter duo with very different personalities and needs. The mother is a senior with hip issues who benefits from extra patience and mobility support, while her daughter has anxiety and does best with a calm, reassuring approach and a consistent routine. Being Toy Australian Shepherds, they're also incredibly intelligent and active, so I'm used to dogs that thrive on structure, engagement, and paying close attention to their individual needs. While I don't have experience with every unique medical or behavioural situation, I've been around a wide variety of dog personalities, energy levels, and temperaments. I pay close attention to canine body language, respect each dog's boundaries, and believe that building trust is far more important than forcing interactions. Whether I'm taking your dog for a walk, stopping by for a drop-in visit, spending the day with them, or caring for them overnight, I'll treat them with the same patience, attention, and respect I give the dogs in my own life. If your dog has a routine or needs I'm unfamiliar with, I'm always happy to do my research beforehand and carefully follow your instructions. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away! Right now I have a pretty open and flexible schedule, so I'm able to work around most pet care needs. Some mornings and around midday I'm busy babysitting my baby brother, but outside of that I have lots of availability for walks, drop ins, day visits, and overnight stays. I like planning ahead and making sure I have enough time to give each pet the attention they deserve instead of trying to rush from one booking to the next! I'll mostly be caring for pets in their own home because that's where they're usually the happiest and most comfortable. My goal is to keep their routine as normal as possible by following your instructions closely, respecting your home, and making sure your pet feels safe while you're away. In some cases I may be able to care for pets in my home, but it will depend on the pet. I live in a small one bedroom basement suite with my two senior cats, who are very sweet but also very timid. Because of that, I'd only consider pets that are calm, cat friendly, and comfortable in a quieter environment. No matter where I'm caring for your pet, I'll pay close attention to their behaviour, body language, and routine. I know every animal is different, and I think noticing the little things can make a big difference in helping them feel comfortable.

We had the pleasure of having Cara look after our dog, Finn, and she was absolutely wonderful! She kept us updated every day with photos and messages, which gave us such peace of mind while we were away. Finn looked so happy and well cared for the entire time. On top of that, we came home to a spotless house, Cara even went the extra mile and washed the linens. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and thoughtful dog sitter. She truly treats your fur baby like her own!

She walked them daily and sent me photo and text updates. She left my home in perfect shape and even watered my houseplants. About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life and have raised rescue cats for most of it, while also caring for dogs and other pets along the way. I love discovering each pet’s unique personality - whether they’re playful, shy, or somewhere in between. Your fur baby will be treated like royalty and my new little bestie, with plenty of love, attention, and affection. Think massages, gentle scratches, belly rubs (if invited!), and a calm, comforting presence so they feel safe, happy, and truly cared for while you’re away. You can count on me for reliable, responsible, and attentive care, with every instruction followed, your home respected, and regular updates with photos to keep your mind at ease until you’re back. I work from home 4 days a week, so can easily pop in a morning, lunch, after work, and/or evening visit or walk most days if you live in Maple Ridge or a neighboring municipality. I provide drop-in visits and short walks. I am communicative, will follow your instructions, and treat your pet(s) with the utmost care. It is important to me that your fur baby feels safe and loved, and you feel confident that your pet is being well-taken care of by someone who will shower them with love.

About: Hi there my name is Lucy. I am a Surrey based petsitter who is well trained in the care of many small and large animals. I previously worked on a rescue farm and have owned, fostered, and rescued many pets. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, mice, rats, fish, frogs, ducks, chicken, horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, Guinea pigs, rabbits….! I can clean, feed, medicate and treat your babies with much love! My schedule changes throughout the year- currently open for overnight sittings for between 2-7 day blocks. When I’m back at my regular work schedule I will alter my availability to reflect this (typically unable to provide sitting throughout the day time/week days, but still able for drop in visits and walks in the evenings). I will follow your routine and happy to be flexible. Sleep on the bed, in a crate, potty breaks in the yard/on a walk… you name it. Want updates and photos? No problem :)

Hong was absolutely fantastic! The best sitter I’ve worked with by far. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Hong took incredible care of my two cats, following all instructions perfectly and providing thoughtful updates while I was away. One of my cats is usually quite shy, but he warmed up to Hong right away - a true testament to Hong’s patience and kindness. Not only did he ensure my cats were happy and well cared for, but he also treated my home with the utmost respect. I returned to a pristine space, which was such a wonderful bonus. His attention to detail, reliability, and genuine love for animals make him an outstanding sitter. I will definitely be booking with him again! Thank you, Hong!

About: I’ve been pet/house sitting for 2 years. My experience is mainly with dogs and cats. Although I have never had an animal of my own, I think it’s very important to create a bond between myself and the animals. My previous experience includes feeding, exercise, administering medication (oral and ear), playtime, and cleanup after accidents or spills. I just moved to the area from out of province so I’m still getting my bearings. As of right now, my schedule is clear for pet care every day except Sundays. I believe that if a pet is being cared for in their own space, it makes it easier to provide what they need. I have experience with house sitting in general, along with pet sitting. I will defer to the owners and follow their directions, especially when it comes to the state of their home and the trust they place in me to care for their pets.

About: I have extensive experience with dogs in both my professional and personal life. With education in veterinary technology and hands-on work in a veterinary setting, I’m confident caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’ve also provided dog care and house sitting for others, making sure every pup feels safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. As a lifelong dog lover, I understand how important routine, exercise, and affection are to their well-being. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, medication administration, walks, grooming, and recognizing small changes in behavior or appetite. Above all, I take pride in giving every dog I care for the attention and kindness they deserve. I'm currently a university student and only need to attend class tuesday and thursdays unless otherwise stated, so I have plenty of time to care for your pets! I'm a cat and dog mom to seniors and I love them with my whole heart. I understand the need for scheduling and attention pets of all life stages require on a daily basis. With previous experience in Veterinary Technology in a clinical setting, I am comfortable providing medications in any form, as well as handling pets of all sizes.

We had an excellent experience with Marianne and Danna and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and reliable pet sitters. They took wonderful care of our dog, Luca, and our cats, Coco and Echo, while we were away. Luca can be sensitive when his routine changes, and Coco and Echo each have their own unique personalities, but Marianne and Danna were patient, attentive, and incredibly kind with all three of them. We especially appreciated the updates and communication throughout our trip. Knowing that our pets were receiving so much care and attention gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. When we returned home, Luca, Coco, and Echo were happy, healthy, and clearly well looked after. It was obvious that Marianne and Danna genuinely cared about our pets and treated them with love and respect. They also kept our house very neat and clean, just like we left it. Thank you both for taking such great care of our furry family. We are truly grateful and would happily trust you with Luca, Coco, and Echo again in the future!

Fantastic with my cats! I have a 17 year old senior cat and a 2 year old kitten who both have separate needs and Antaress was able to meet all. The biggest sign that we made the right choice was that my normally shy kitten was a proper little shadow to Antaress the entire time; clearly relaxed and feeling safe. We also got an update every day with adorable photos included putting our minds at ease. I can't recommend Anatress enough!

We cannot say enough positive things about Megan. For our little family, the impact of introducing Megan to our reactive and fearful dog Maggie has been overwhelmingly positive. Megan was patient and understanding throughout the slow introductions, letting Maggie get to know her slowly and with trust. Leaving Maggie in someone else's hands for a week was made so much easier with Megan's confidence that everything would be ok and Maggie would be absolutely fine. And Megan was right. We wont hesitate to book Megan again for future needs, in fact, shes part of the family now.

FAQs for House Sitting - Maple Ridge

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Maple Ridge on Rover is $48.84 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 3,183 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Maple Ridge. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Maple Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Maple Ridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maple Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
