“Ress was absolutely amazing and took wonderful care of my two large dogs and home for 3 weeks! She handled my German Shepherd’s leash reactivity and separation anxiety very well and was able to adapt to help him adjust to the changes. She had great communication with us and kept us well informed and sent update pictures throughout the sit! I highly recommend and book again!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life and have raised rescue cats for most of it, while also caring for dogs and other pets along the way. I love discovering each pet’s unique personality - whether they’re playful, shy, or somewhere in between. Your fur baby will be treated like royalty and my new little bestie, with plenty of love, attention, and affection. Think massages, gentle scratches, belly rubs (if invited!), and a calm, comforting presence so they feel safe, happy, and truly cared for while you’re away. You can count on me for reliable, responsible, and attentive care, with every instruction followed, your home respected, and regular updates with photos to keep your mind at ease until you’re back. I work from home 4 days a week, so can easily pop in a morning, lunch, after work, and/or evening visit or walk most days if you live in Maple Ridge or a neighboring municipality. I provide drop-in visits and short walks. I am communicative, will follow your instructions, and treat your pet(s) with the utmost care. It is important to me that your fur baby feels safe and loved, and you feel confident that your pet is being well-taken care of by someone who will shower them with love.
“Riley took care of our 165 pound Greater Swiss Mountain Dog in our home for 3 days. We came home to a calm happy dog and a tidy home. Riley was very responsive to any text and gave us regular updates. I would definitely highly recommend her as my big lazy boy can be a handful 😁”

“Amazing guy!! Went to Mexico and was so worried about leaving my 90 lb reactive dog but Jon was a pro. He stayed over for a week took care of my dog and cat. House was clean and my pets are so happy. Sent me pics and videos so I knew they were good!!! Highly recommend Jon for any pet sitting !”

“Kelsey is the best!! My pup was so well taken care of and Kelsey gave amazing check-ins everyday. I came home and Lilah didn’t want to see her go. Highly recommend! THANK YOU KELSEY!”

“Frank took care of our hard to please St Bernard and broke down the barriers. He build trust with him and was able to get him to be friends. He communicated to us at least twice a day and kept us up to date allowing us to enjoy our time away. Thank you Frank”

“We had the pleasure of having Cara look after our dog, Finn, and she was absolutely wonderful! She kept us updated every day with photos and messages, which gave us such peace of mind while we were away. Finn looked so happy and well cared for the entire time. On top of that, we came home to a spotless house, Cara even went the extra mile and washed the linens. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and thoughtful dog sitter. She truly treats your fur baby like her own!”

“Darlee took amazing care of our home and cats while we were away. Both cats are seniors and need frequent wet food feedings as well as one is diabetic and needs oral medication at set times. They are very needy needing lots of attention and when we got home they seemed perky and happy. She took great care of them, communicated well, and left the home in a very clean shape even putting her bedding in washer before she left. We were very impressed.”

“Mya took great care of my anxious/nervous cat! He doesn’t like strangers, but by the end of my vacation he was totally comfortable with her and I got photo and video updates regularly. Her communication is excellent which was helpful to me as someone who worries about their pets while away. I already have another stay booked with Mya and would recommend her.”

“Iona looked after our pets and home for 2 weeks. She was great; our pets were healthy and happy, our house was spotless, and she communicated regularly. It was good to be on vacation and not have to worry about what was going on back home.”

“10 STARS!! We recommend Peggie for pet care and house sitting. Peggie is so kind and in sync with our dogs, I could not have hoped for better care. Peggie is tidy and organized, our home was perfectly cared for when we arrived home. I was nervous to leave our dogs for the first time and Peggie put my mind at ease and kept me updated with lots of pictures and videos. I appreciated her care for me in this process as well. Peggie won over our nervous dog and was greeted for pets by the end of her stay. A great accomplishment and compliment to Peggie. Peggie’s care for our dogs and rabbits was excellent. (Feeding, cleaning, walking, spending time with them, playing) Moka is a great companion to any pets you have, gentle and a ready to play! Highly recommend Moka as a play date. I have found our dog sitter for any future vacations.”

About: Dogs and cats have always been special to me. Your furry family members are safe in my care. Check-ins, feedings, and medicine applications are all in my repertoire. I'm a BC native, new to the island. I'm a mortgage broker and have plenty of spare time, so pet sitting fits right into my lifestyle. I'll be there for your beloved family members when they need me. Walkings, feedings, medicine applications, pets, snuggles, and other common means of care are certainly available. I can also teach common tricks, if you have any requests.
About: I know how to teach a couple tricks and I understand how different breads act different and maybe react in different ways because of it I work full time and my schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm, as of right now I don’t have any more sports going on so my evenings are pretty open besides some errands I don’t do in home sitting at my place right now but if I am at your place I want to make sure your pets doesn’t feel like I’m invading their space but making sure they still meet their routine and needs as normal
“Dominique provided a fantastic service. She stayed in my house with my two 18 month old Boston Terriers for 10 days whiIe I was in Mexico . The dogs loved her. She walked them daily and sent me photo and text updates. She left my home in perfect shape and even watered my houseplants. I would thoroughly recommend Dominique and hope to use her services next time I'm away on vacation.”

About: I worked at animal emerge clinic of the Fraser Valley for almost 4 years and I love taking care of animals and giving them the love that they deserve. I can be pretty flexible and whatever your needs are for your pets. I will always do my best to make sure your dog is looked after.
“Hong Yu was phenomenal! This was my first time leaving my cat alone for 3 nights and I was really anxious. My cat felt at ease with Hong and they quickly bonded. He sent me photos regularly and this made me truly relaxed, allowing me to enjoy my vacation. I recommend Hong to everyone, his presence alone is the deal changer.”

About: I've grown up around animals and understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and specific needs. I focus on providing consistent care, regular updates, and plenty of attention so both pets and owners feel at ease (I love taking pictures). Whether your pet loves long walks, play time or having a calm companion around, I'm happy to adapt. My main goal is to provide a safe and comfortable experience for you and your pet. I have no other commitments, other than my part time job. I work during the week, no weekends. I love being outdoors, going for walks, and exploring different trails but I can always enjoy a quiet afternoon depending on your pups needs. I have a fenced backyard with one very friendly pup to keep your doggies company. I enjoy staying active and going for walks, but I'm happy to adapt to your dogs energy level. I always look forward to meeting and hanging out with new pups!

Darlee took amazing care of our home and cats while we were away. Both cats are seniors and need frequent wet food feedings as well as one is diabetic and needs oral medication at set times. We had an excellent experience with Marianne and Danna and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and reliable pet sitters. They took wonderful care of our dog, Luca, and our cats, Coco and Echo, while we were away. Luca can be sensitive when his routine changes, and Coco and Echo each have their own unique personalities, but Marianne and Danna were patient, attentive, and incredibly kind with all three of them. We especially appreciated the updates and communication throughout our trip. Knowing that our pets were receiving so much care and attention gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. When we returned home, Luca, Coco, and Echo were happy, healthy, and clearly well looked after. It was obvious that Marianne and Danna genuinely cared about our pets and treated them with love and respect. They also kept our house very neat and clean, just like we left it. Thank you both for taking such great care of our furry family. We are truly grateful and would happily trust you with Luca, Coco, and Echo again in the future!

Fantastic with my cats! I have a 17 year old senior cat and a 2 year old kitten who both have separate needs and Antaress was able to meet all. The biggest sign that we made the right choice was that my normally shy kitten was a proper little shadow to Antaress the entire time; clearly relaxed and feeling safe. We also got an update every day with adorable photos included putting our minds at ease. I can't recommend Anatress enough!
We cannot say enough positive things about Megan. For our little family, the impact of introducing Megan to our reactive and fearful dog Maggie has been overwhelmingly positive. Megan was patient and understanding throughout the slow introductions, letting Maggie get to know her slowly and with trust. Leaving Maggie in someone else's hands for a week was made so much easier with Megan's confidence that everything would be ok and Maggie would be absolutely fine. And Megan was right. We wont hesitate to book Megan again for future needs, in fact, shes part of the family now.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Maple Ridge on Rover is $48.84 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,183 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Maple Ridge. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Maple Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Maple Ridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maple Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
