“We've met Michelle three times now and she's watched our pup twice. He's usually aloof with strangers, but she has a very calm yet doggie-loving demeanor and he warmed up to her a lot. It's such a comfort to know he can hang out in his own house with his new friend and we can go do what we need to do and not worry about him. Thank you!”

“Brad was outstanding and took exceptional care of my special needs dog. He came to meet me and my dog before I booked with him and I could see right away how much he loved dogs. I knew that my dog would be in good hands and that I could trust him to take care of my dog who, at the time, required extensive medical treatment and care. I'm so thankful for Brad as he went above and beyond for my little guy. I thought I would have to cancel my trip as it was a critical time for my dog's care and I likely would have, if it were not for him. He accurately administered medication and measured his supplements, and made sure my dog received his light therapy treatments several times a day. He even carried my dog outside for potty breaks and hand-fed him. He not only took excellent care of my dog but also of my home which was clean and organized when I returned. I could not have asked for more and would give Brad more stars if I could. He made sure to follow exactly the plan for my dog's recovery and gave me regular updates to put my mind at ease. Brad exceeded all expectations and without hesitation, I will book Brad again and highly recommend him.”

“Madi took such wonderful care of our girl Zoey while we were away. She sent us regular updates and photos to keep us posted on how things were going, and was so great at following the instructions we left for Zoey's care. We can't recommend her enough!”

“Abhishek was a wonderful sitter for our pup, Helly! He suggested we do a meet and greet prior to the sit, to get acquainted with Helly and any particulars that he should know for his stay. He came prepared with treats and we could tell he has a genuine love for dogs and is really skilled with them. Helly loved him almost immediately! We chose Abhishek as he had experience with reactive dogs and Helly has shown some fear with loud sounds and new environments. He took her out on a short walk as we requested and updated us with some beautiful pictures and how she was doing. Everything went so well! Highly recommend!”

“Alison took great care of my cat, Hank, and my home, while I was away for two weeks. Her communication was excellent, sending regular pictures and updates on what her and Hank were up to. She also left my place immaculate. I will definitely rebook Alison in the future.”

“Amazing guy!! Went to Mexico and was so worried about leaving my 90 lb reactive dog but Jon was a pro. He stayed over for a week took care of my dog and cat. House was clean and my pets are so happy. Sent me pics and videos so I knew they were good!!! Highly recommend Jon for any pet sitting !”

About: I have dogs of different breeds in my home since I was 7 years old. I have been taking care for dogs of all ages for over 17 years. I work from home 3 days a week, so I am open to come during lunch break or after work, also I often home on the weekend. It depends on the animal. I can take the cage with an animal home. Mostly open to provide service at pet's owner place. Generally cats do not like to be taken to a different home.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! Nasrin took amazing care of our dog and our home while we were away. From the very first meet-and-greet, it was clear they were attentive, responsible, and genuinely loved being around dogs. During the stay, they kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us total peace of mind. Our dog looked happy, relaxed, and clearly enjoyed their time with Nasrin! We highly recommend Nasrin to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable sitter. We’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Natalie is fantastic- this is my second time using her … She’s responsive, super neat + tidy and always keeps me posted with photos + videos. Could not ask for a better fit for sweet Murphy!”

About: Single pet care only 🐾 I take just one client at a time so your dog gets my full attention and lots of love ❤️ Hi! I’m Kristen. I may be new to Rover, but I have over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for my own dogs. I don’t currently have pets in my home, so your dog will be the center of my attention. I’m experienced with walking, basic training, bathing/brushing, and daily care. I have a special place in my heart for senior dogs. One of my past pups needed extra patience and care in his senior years, including slower walks, frequent potty breaks, oral medication, and support with vision and hearing loss. That experience taught me how important routine, gentleness, and close attention are. I’m happy to accommodate your dog’s individual needs and keep their routine as consistent as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities, and I’m always glad to send photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. Weekdays: I am temporarily working from home right now Monday to Friday and can provide a walk to do their morning business before I start work and a longer walk when I am off from work. With as many potty breaks as they need during the day. Weekends: More time for longer walks or trail outings. I am happy to adjust based on your dog’s energy level. Slow strolls and sniff breaks welcome for senior or low-energy pups.
“Ami was so capable, kind, and caring of my fur babies. She sent updates and photos, looked after them so well, and left my place spotless. She followed the instructions I left and when I got home they were happy and healthy.”

“Lisa is amazing, I traveled on vacation far away with limited communication and for longer than a weekend. Lisa has sat for me a few times before and knowing she was there for this longer period of time and to switch with another Rover member as my trip was too long for a 2 plus week stay left me feeling so confident and comfortable. Lisa kept in touch, was accommodating and flexible. Lisa is my go to dog sitter and appreciate everything she does. Thank you once again Lisa for taking good care of my Bruce and home. Tiffany”

Abhishek was just wonderful with our puppy Max. I could see from the get go that Max liked him and would have a good time with him. Abhishek was an excellent at meeting all of Max’s puppy needs like frequent potty breaks, play sessions, and naps. Definitely someone you can trust your dog with. I would highly recommend Abhishek as a dog sitter.

We booked Morgan and Roberto to watch our dog Mochi for three weeks while we were away. They provided daily updates and it was quite clear that he was being well cared for and loved. We came home to a happy and healthy pup and a well maintained house. Rest assured that if you book them, your fur baby and home will be in good hands.

Brad was AMAZING staying in my home and taking care of my doggie. It was my first time using Rover app and having anyone other than family watch my dog so I was nervous, but everything went so smoothly!! He updated me a few times a day with messages and pics which was nice to see my dog all cuddled up and enjoying his time!!

Grishma was very responsive and sent me so many pictures during the house sitting stay. She came twice a day for 2 hours at a home and Sent me in depth updates each visit and was very patient! My kitties warmed up to her fast which is a green flag! Definitely using her for a babysitter every time!

I'm so lucky to have Puneet! My fur baby absolutely loves her and I truly appreciate that she spends quality time playing with him, exercising him (he's a big ball of endless energy) and making sure that he's well fed (including treats) and that he's ok before she leaves. She's so accommodating and flexible which I truly appreciate because she genuinely cares and wants to make sure my dog is taken care of (especially the times that I'm really in a bind). She's very knowledgeable and knows how to handle dogs and reads body language very well to anticipate what my dog wants. There isn't anyone else that I would trust with my fur baby. I really appreciate that she responds quickly and she's very patient and understanding with my OCD requests. She even has my dogs morning and evening routine (with many steps) down packed and gives me a detailed breakdown of what they did and how he's doing. She is the best doggysitter that I've ever had and will only go to. She treats each dog she looks after like her own and you can tell that she genuinely loves doing what she does (not just a job or pay cheque). Her knowledge about dogs amazes me and the fact that she's worked with dogs in previous jobs and finished a vet assistant program is impressive and makes me feel comfortable knowing that she would know what to do if something were to ever happen with my dog when I'm not there. I double recommend her to anyone!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Surrey maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Surrey walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Surrey choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
