For the past five years, I’ve had the joy of caring for my families dog, and I’ve also looked after my families members’ dogs throughout my life. About: I have always had at least one dog and cared for many people's pets while they were away on holidays etc. Since retirement, my life has become very dog centered. I am almost always at home except for shopping and brief outings. When I am not home my great-grandchildren provide company and play time for my dogs. They live upstairs in the same house & are 14 & 16 their love of all pets shines. I have a well-fenced yard and recognize how it is emotionally difficult for dogs to be away from their home. Especially on the first and second visits, I provide lots of extra love and support. Dogs are considered members of the family.

About: I've had chickens, ducks, indoor birds, dogs and cats throughout my life, and understand most animals basic needs as well as how to effectively communicate with/for them and I am capable of accommodating for a variety of pets. :] I'm free most of the time so I'm able to do pretty much any job in my area at anytime and for extended periods, as long as I have proper notice. I have my own cat who I help take care of, but he's also cared for by 3 other people I live with and I work other odd jobs that may come up but generally I am available and I keep my calendar up to date. I can currently only take jobs outside my home, but I understand what it means to respect the privacy and safety of the clients home/household, and how to respect an animals boundaries in terms of meeting new people or experiencing a change in environment. I have had multiple rescue animals, some who were very resistant to certain types of interactions due to trauma with previous owners. I know many animals may experience similar anxieties and I will respect the boundaries of the individual pet, and closely follow the personal care instructions provided by the owner. I am less experienced with animals that have special needs or require medication, but I am happy to learn and accommodate for any pet I can!

About: I've had a passion for animal care since I was 3 years old, pretending to be a dog, and preferring stuffed animals over dolls. When I got my first cat at 8 years old, I was overjoyed. He and I have been the best of friends ever since, and I care for him every day - cleaning the litter box, feeding him, playing with him. Since then, neighbours and family have trusted me with their own animals as well. I've fed newborn kittens, pet-sat overnight to make sure my friends fur babies weren't lonely, and much more. I've only had a dog once, but I took very good care of him as well - grooming him accordingly, taking him for long walks, and playing with him tirelessly. I hope I can treat your furry friends with the same respect and care! Right now I'm only taking house sitting requests! I've become a pretty busy bee since I started Rover - I now work part time at PetSmart and have university full time. House sitting is easier for me to fit into my busy schedule, and it helps me give your furry friends the attention they deserve when you're out of town. I am aware of dog and cat distress signs and I don't mind doing whatever it takes to get them comfortable. Any accommodations can and will be met, as long as I'm told where everything is and usual schedules. My girl Luna has had a nasty infection before, so I have plenty of experience caring for sick animals too.
