“Isobel did a fantastic job looking after Finn on short notice. She took a genuine interest in his care and provided daily updates. Would recommend Isobel for dog walking or dog sitting.”

“Alison was excellent! She provided 2 1/2 weeks of wonderful in-house care for our 10-year old dog and he still tells us that he misses her! She sent us photos (or videos) and a note daily that reassured us that he was being well looked after during our absence. Many of our neighbours in our doggy neighbourhood have commented that our dog looked happy when out for a walk with Alison! And when we arrived home, he seemed a bit torn between greeting us and leaving Alison’s side! I’m so glad we chose Alison to leave our fur baby with, and hope she’ll be available the next time we manage to get away.”

“Kelsey is the best!! My pup was so well taken care of and Kelsey gave amazing check-ins everyday. I came home and Lilah didn’t want to see her go. Highly recommend! THANK YOU KELSEY!”

“Haley is the BEST! Watched our dog and cat for 3 weeks while we were on our Honeymoon in a completely different time zone and she was always responsive, sent pics, and cleaned up the place before leaving. Absolute best dog/cat sitter ever.”

“Theo was super awesome and communicative! They sent sweet updates of my cats and I didn’t feel anxious during my time away at all. I was so appreciative of the care and diligence with which Theo looked after my babies and my home 🫶✨”

About: Dogs and cats have always been special to me. Your furry family members are safe in my care. Check-ins, feedings, and medicine applications are all in my repertoire. I'm a BC native, new to the island. I'm a mortgage broker and have plenty of spare time, so pet sitting fits right into my lifestyle. I'll be there for your beloved family members when they need me. Walkings, feedings, medicine applications, pets, snuggles, and other common means of care are certainly available. I can also teach common tricks, if you have any requests.
About: I’m a calm, reliable, and attentive sitter who genuinely enjoys caring for both pets and the homes they live in. I create a steady, peaceful environment so animals feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m experienced with pets of all sizes and temperaments, including those who may need a little extra patience, routine, or gentle handling. I take pride in keeping a home clean, organized, and running smoothly, and I’m happy to help with light housekeeping or plant care as needed. You can expect thoughtful updates and clear communication, so you always know your pets and home are in good hands. What sets me apart is my reliability, maturity, and the calm, respectful care I bring into every home. Being retired but still active gives me a flexible schedule that naturally includes pet care. I provide consistent attention, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Whether in my home or yours, I maintain a calm, clean, and safe environment where pets are supervised and cared for according to their established routines. I follow instructions closely and prioritize comfort, consistency, and trust at all times.
About: Animals have always been a central part of my life. Growing up on a farm, I developed a deep understanding of the care, responsibility, and patience required to look after a wide variety of animals. Throughout my childhood, I was surrounded by dogs and cats, giving me hands-on experience with their unique personalities, needs, and behaviours. Today, I continue that lifelong commitment as the owner of a five-year-old medium-sized dog. My lifelong experience has given me a genuine appreciation for animal welfare, strong observational skills, and the ability to build trust with pets of different temperaments. This personal connection allows me to provide compassionate, attentive care while understanding that every animal deserves to be treated with patience, respect, and kindness. Pet care fits easily into my routine because I'm currently taking some time off work and have a very open schedule. I'm available on both weekdays and weekends and can accommodate a variety of pet care needs. Whether you're looking for short-term care, long-term care, or flexible scheduling, I'm happy to provide reliable, attentive care that works around your pet's routine. I provide care for pets in their own home, where they can stay comfortable and maintain their regular routine. I carefully follow all instructions you leave regarding feeding, exercise, medications, and any special needs to ensure your pet receives the best possible care. I treat every pet as if they were my own, giving them plenty of love, attention, patience, and companionship while you're away, so you can have peace of mind knowing they're in caring hands.
“Katherine agreed to sit for us last minute, which allowed us to visit our grandchildren in red deer. She was good caring for our nervous senior dog, and sent us regular feedback and pictures. She left out home nice and tidy. We will be having her sit again for us at the end of December!”
About: I’ve lived with cats and dogs my whole life, and in recent years have done extensive pet sitting and fostering. Most of my sitting experience was through Trusted Housesitters, and I can provide reviews/references. I’ve cared for dogs from the tiniest Pomeranian, to a Golden Labrador that could pass for a small horse. I also have experience with anxious and reactive dogs. I have also cared for cats with a huge range of dietary and medical needs, including super anxious cats, and cats who have not had previous human contact. I am patient, caring, and a genuine animal lover. I have provided screenshots of previous pet sitting reviews in my photos! I currently work in hospitality, so my schedule can be a bit random, but also flexible. I often work evenings so can usually be available for day time care. I’m also studying for a Masters remotely, so I tend to spend a lot of time studying from home, which gives me lots of time to keep your animals company! I will mostly be offering housesitting and day-time pet care, however I may be able to arrange pet-care in my own home on a case by case basis!

About: I have had dogs on and off my entire life. I adopted an older dog in my twenties who had severe arthritis and cared for him until his final days. This gave me hands-on experience with senior care and medication administration. I have house sat for my family and friend’s dogs throughout the years and given the dogs medication whenever it was needed. I have also been on many walks, runs and hikes with dogs and am able to handle high-energy dogs. My partner and I currently own a dog who is anxious and has some separation anxiety, and so I have a lot of patience and can handle more nervous/anxious dogs. Because of his anxiousness we are almost always with him and have a very homebody lifestyles with tons of positive reinforcement and desensitization techniques. I work as a flight attendant Monday to Wednesday's, and the rest of the time I am home. Whenever I am home I am fully available for pet sitting, dog walking and house drop ins. I mostly spend my days off going for long walks along the seawall, running, camping and enjoying time at home with my dog. I have a very flexible schedule with a lot of time off so it allows me to be fully present for any dog care. I currently live in an apartment in Fairview with easy access to the outdoors. There is a dog park about 10 minutes away from my place along with the seawall for walks. I live in a quiet neighbourhood that is very dog friendly. There is a vet at a 10 minute walk if ever it was needed.
About: Growing up, my family had 2 large dogs. I have always had a love for animals, big and small. At this stage in my life, I do not have any pets of my own. I am a loving aunty to my sister’s two dogs, Gus and Hopps; my dad’s dog, Ollie; my uncle’s dog, Moffat, and my sister-in-law’s cat named Ben. Not to mention, an honorary aunt to countless friends’ pets. I have had the pleasure of pet-sitting dogs and cats of all ages, including an adorable 15 year old Boston Terrier with various health issues requiring timed medication and a rescue dog that required daily physiotherapy exercises and massage for some muscle and joint pain he was experiencing. I work a full-time job Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Depending on the situation, I can do a morning walk before work, an evening walk after work, and a later walk before bed. My partner is often happy to assist with a lunch-time walk as needed and based on the comfort of the owner. I am a quiet and respectful working professional who is committed to providing loving care to your beloved pets in the comfort and familiarity of their own home while you are away.
About: My previous room-mate was a veterinary technician, and I frequently watched and walked her animals while she was away. I’ve been around and loved animals my whole life and am very comfortable around them. I often watch and walk friends dogs! My life doesn’t allow me to have a dog of my own currently, and it brings me great joy to help out in this way! I am looking for longer stays (2-3 days or more). I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule if notice is given. I will be commuting from out of town. :) I love spending time with animals, including getting them out of the house on adventures, to new parks for them to experiance new and interesting environments, or taking them to parks they are comfortable with and love. I also love spending time with them in the home, while giving them lots of time and attention!
“Sarah stayed with our cats and house-sat for a week during one of the hottest weeks of the summer! Not only did she take great care of the kitties, she also took treat care of the house and the gardens ensuring everything was properly maintained during our absence. We got regular updates and photos of all the cats from her, and she was very responsive to any messages sent her way. We have no hesitation re-booking or recommending Sarah for any pet parents out there!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - White Rock
Fantastic sitter - highly recommend! Communication was quick & easy and she put all of our worries to rest right from the start. She sent updates and it was clear that she genuinely cared about our cat’s comfort and happiness. Our cat was relaxed and well cared for when we got home. We will definitely use Ashley again and would recommend her,

We honestly don’t know what kind of magic Audrey has, but Tucker absolutely loves her. She’s officially been accepted into Tucker’s very exclusive inner circle. If you know Tucker, you know what a big deal that is. He’s a sweet dog, but he’s also an anxious, suspicious little old dachshund who generally isn’t interested in making new (or any…) friends. Somehow Audrey has gone from “stranger danger” to getting kisses, pets-on-demand, and couch cuddles. Every time she sends us updates, my partner and I just stare at each other like, “…who is this dog?” She’s incredibly patient with him and always respectful of his needs and limitations, even when it means spending a day hanging out with a couch potato instead of doing anything remotely exciting. As Tucker gets older and deals with more age-related health issues that limit what he’s able to do for activity, that means so much to us. We trust Audrey completely with our little old man, and Tucker very clearly does too. Honestly, that’s the highest compliment we can give. We’re so grateful we found her!

What can we say. She is an unbelievable dog sitter. Our aussies just loved her. And we are sure the three of them miss her. From there feeding needs to playing ball at 7am, to giving them a bath . Our family loves Stephanie and will definitely have her back next vacation
Shyrelle was great! She watched our dog for one day. We then felt very comfortable having her watch our dog at our place for 5 days while we were out of town. She took extra care, as our dog can feel anxious while we are away. She kept us regularly updated with pictures & his well-being. Her kind nature put us & our dog at ease. Our place was found as we left it on our return. We would highly recommend. Thank you Shyrelle!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in White Rock on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 3,026 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across White Rock. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in White Rock maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred White Rock walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in White Rock choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
