I came home to happy dogs and a clean house. She does a better job of cleaning the kitchen sink than I do! I am very happy with Darlee and I don't hesitate to recommend her. I am sure that Talia and Onyx agree with that recommendation!

Viv was awesome! She did so much with our puppy Koka and Koka loved it. They played and went for a great walk. She made sure to give us updates about Koka during the walk. You can tell how much she loves dogs and how much they love her back.

Cara did a fantastic job taking care of our two babies (cats). Both animals required brief visits to the vet and Cara managed these adventures smoothly. She also assisted us with other issues while we were away. Our home looked much better on return than it did on departure. We were concerned our cats would pack their little bags and move to Cara's home on our return. Cara is a wonderful find and we have absolute confidence in her.

We appreciated that Zara took the time to meet Gus and get to know his routines and personality at home before staying with him! You could tell right away that Zara was patient and kind. Gus and Zara became fast friends! Zara took great care of Gus and our home while we were away. We loved receiving pics of Gus playing and enjoying his time with Zara during our trip.

About: Over the course of six rewarding months, I've had the privilege of serving as a trusted pet sitter for a dear friend's cherished canine companion. My daily routine has revolved around providing exceptional care, ensuring the dog's well-being and happiness. This includes two daily outings filled with adventure and exercise, fostering a healthy and active lifestyle. Beyond the walks, I've cultivated an environment of love, play, and unwavering companionship. Witnessing the sheer joy and fulfillment that dogs bring into our lives has been a truly heartwarming experience. As I embark on this journey as a dog walker and sitter, my commitment to delivering the same level of dedicated care to other canine companions is unwavering. As a dedicated student, I have structured my pet care responsibilities into my daily and weekly routine to ensure a balanced and nurturing environment for my furry friend. Each morning and evening, I allocate specific time slots for walks, playtime, and feeding, allowing me to meet my academic commitments while still providing attentive care. On weekends, I have more flexibility to engage in longer activities and outings, reinforcing the bond with my pet. My commitment to pet care aligns seamlessly with my student life, as it brings structure, joy, and companionship to my daily routine, enriching both my academic pursuits and personal life. Certainly, the way I care for pets will vary depending on whether I'm providing services in my own home or the client's home. In my home: - I create a safe and pet-friendly environment. - Establish a consistent daily routine for feeding, exercise, and playtime. - Prioritize regular walks and outdoor activities. - Provide affection and one-on-one attention. - Administer any required medications or follow specific health routines. - Maintain open communication with pet owners and provide updates on their pets' well-being. In the client's home: - Conduct a meet and greet to understand the pets' routines and preferences. - Strictly follow the owner's instructions for feeding, medication, and care. - Maintain a consistent routine to minimize stress for the pets. - Provide regular updates and photos to the pet owners. - Ensure the security and safety of the client's home. - Be prepared for emergencies, with a plan for veterinary care if needed. This way, I tailor my pet care services to the specific needs and preferences of the pets and their owners, whether in my own home or the client's home.

Very pleased with Riley! Great with Marley who is a senior 14 years old. Marley has never spent a day away from me . She doesn’t get along with many strangers! She really liked Riley as did I. She was excellent with Marley and I felt relieved that Riley was here at my house with her!! Riley was great at giving Her medication which is something I can hardly do! Thanks Riley

We had such a great experience with Jasleen 😊 She watched our dogs 6 times this past week and took wonderful care of them. Our dogs absolutely loved her and were so happy and comfortable with her. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. She was caring, reliable, and attentive. We really appreciate everything she did for our fur babies. We will definitely be booking with Jasleen again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter! 😊😊

About: Pets like cats, rabbits, and other animals are welcome. I volunteered with Pads for six months and fostered shelter animals to help more pets find homes. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and more. I respect pets' emotions and thoughts. Since childhood, I've enjoyed playing with my family's dog and cat and caring for them. Each pet has a unique personality. I love caring for pets and will give them all the love and attention they deserve. My goal is to keep your pet safe, happy, and comfortable. Pets can sense the energy around them, so it’s important for a caregiver to be positive. I love seeing pets happy and healthy, which makes this job fulfilling. 😊❤️ If you're booking for the first time, ask me for the promotion code. I’m free usually every day, 7 days a week😊. I have free time to give your dog company and exercise. I like to jog with the dog. Enjoy delicious food, fun playtime, exercise, soothing massages, cozy cuddles, and of course, important potty breaks and restful nap times! I hope your pet is happy and safe here!

About: Over 10 years of taking care of pets has taught me one big thing: no two animals are the same. A high energy dog needs an active walk, a senior pup just wants to sniff a tree and hit the couch, and a shy cat needs quiet patience before coming out for chin scratches. I tailor every visit.. whether it's an energetic walk, litter box duty, or slow paced play to what your pet actually needs to feel happy and safe. ✨My primary focus is house sitting, ensuring your pets get dedicated, round the clock comfort in their own home. I am also happy to take on drop ins and walks upon request outside of house sitting bookings!✨ Why owners trust me with their pets: •Attentive & Safety Minded: I'm hyper aware on walks.. watching traffic, reading dog body language, and keeping a close eye out for environmental triggers or hazards. For indoor cats, I make sure double doors, windows, and quick escape routes are always secure before opening a thing. •Specialized Care: administering oral medications, handling reactive dogs, and adjusting my tempo for senior pets, energetic puppies, or timid kitties who need space to warm up. •Consistent Photo Updates: You'll always get photos and a clear update on how the visit went, so you never have to worry while you're away. •Proven Experience: I run a pet care business outside of rover 🫶🏻 and used Rover back in 2024–2025. After taking a short step back, I’m fully back and bringing that same reliable, professional care to every visit. I work part-time 3 days a week (8 hour shifts), which leaves the rest of my week wide open for pet care. When house sitting, I treat it just like living there! following your pet’s exact daily routine, hanging out at your place, and making sure they have consistent company so they barely notice you're gone. I’m always super mindful of safety. On walks, I keep dogs on a firm leash and stay aware of our surroundings. Inside the house, I double check that doors, windows, and gates are fully secured before leaving or turning in for the night. I know how important peace of mind is, so I'll always leave your home tidy and send frequent updates so you never have to worry.

About: Hey 👋 I’m Angie, it’s nice to meet you! Glad you’ve found my rover here and I’m looking forward to connecting with you. I’m a dog owner myself, so I care deeply about what type of treatment my pup is getting when I hire a Rover. I look to give you the same reassurance I’ve found here - a Reliable sitter on a day you really need it, your furry friend taken care of by someone who genuinely loves dogs and is respectful of my home. I have experience handling dogs from 6lbs up to 70lbs! I love dogs of all sizes, each their own nature and personality and I honour that each pup is unique, but truly I’ve never met a dog I didn’t like ;) I grew up across the street from a giant German Sheppard who had the kindest heart, and shared space with Great Danes that hopped into my lap like tiny kittens. For what it’s worth, I’ve met a ton of bully mixes that have been nothing but gentle with me. I’ve had two jack russels and a Pom at one point so I’m very used to high energy dogs. Currently I have a sweet sleepy 12 year old jack-chi mix, so let me know if your pup is socialized and likes other dogs, then I’m happy to bring her along but she stays home with my partner mainly. My time at your place - I’m a creative graphic designer and I work from home, so I’ll be with your dog full-time when you book with me. I provide walks every couple hours and promise to send tons of adorable pictures and updates for you to admire while you’re away. I’ve always appreciated this from sitters I’ve hired myself from Rover. It would be helpful if you let me know as much information as possible about your pup(s). What time is feeding schedule and how often do you walk your pup at home? High or low level energy? Have they had regular pee and poo lately? Is it okay to provide beef liver, peanut butter or sweet potato snacks? Those are great details I would appreciate with your booking. Talk to you soon! I’m a creative designer who freelances and works from home so I will be staying at your place where your furry friend usually is to take care of them in their natural home base I’ve only had good experiences hiring Rover for my two dogs whom I love so trust safety and respecting the space is highest priority to me. I promise to do the same and contribute to the nice Rover community I’ve gotten to experience

About: Hi there! My name is Nicole, and I'm a 38-year-old Etsy shop owner in Maple Ridge. I've had family dogs my entire life, ranging from 8-25 lbs. And my wife, Nikki, and I have been sharing full-time Dog Mom duties for over 5 years. In October 2025, we lost our good boy, Eddie, after a long decline during which I learned to comfortably administer insulin. Now, our sweet rescue girl, Moxy (age 9 or 10), has no fur friends to spend time with. While not required, I prefer to care for dogs who are comfortable with Moxy tagging along for walks and house-sits. She is a well behaved, house-trained, 9-year-old Maltese-Mini Schnauzer mix who is, as we like to say, "just happy to be there." She is good with most dogs, but becomes avoidant of dogs who get overly excited and rough. She plays very gently. I am available for dog walks, drop ins or day sits anytime after 9am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Mondays and Thursdays are my focused work days, so I am only available after 5pm. I am also available for pet sitting any day of the week, as long as your pets are able to be left alone for up to 4 hours per day on weekdays. For new clients, I would like to schedule an in person meet-and-greet to ensure we are a good fit for each other. If you’re interested, please send a message with details about your pets and desired services. I'm happy to answer any questions :) Thanks!! WALKING + DROP INS + DAY SITS I am available for dog walks, drop ins or day sits anytime after 9am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Mondays and Thursdays are my focused work days, so I am only available after 5pm. **I usually take an hour during Mon/Thurs to take our dog, Moxy, for a walk, so I have room for 1 more doggo to join us during those days. HOUSE-SITTING: I will treat your home with the utmost respect. I’m happy to water your plants and bring in the mail, and I will of course tidy up to ensure you can't even tell I was there. I can provide you with frequent updates, along with cute photos and videos so you can feel assured that your pets are well cared for. I work from home, meaning your pets will rarely be alone. They will get walks, belly rubs, potty breaks, and play time as desired. My work schedule is mostly flexible, allowing me to give your dog or cat plenty of attention and care throughout the day. My job requires about 15 hours per week of focused time spent at my home office. That work is usually done on Mondays and Thursdays, however, I can spread it out over the week to decrease the time that I'd need to be away from your pets if your trip falls on those days. You know your pet(s) best, so we can discuss the preferred way for me to accommodate them. Please let me know if you're comfortable with our well-behaved, house-trained, small dog Moxy visiting your house or joining for walks with your dog(s). She'd love the socialization. But if it's a no, that's okay. Please note, I am not comfortable caring for pets who: - cannot be left alone - fight to receive required medication - are not spayed/neutered - are aggressive - are incontinent - are fully blind - are likely to require multiple bathroom breaks overnight - are over 40 lbs (unless they are calm/not jumpy and good on a leash). At this time, I'm not able to board pets at our home, but I'm happy to come spend time with your pets in the comfort of their home.

About: Both Becky & Dylan grew up with pets. Becky had 2 large dogs, and Dylan had 2 dogs and multiple cats. We have always had a love for animals, big and small. At this stage in our lives, we do not have any pets of our own. We are the loving auntie/uncle to Becky’s sister’s two dogs, Gus and Hopps; her dad’s dog, Ollie; her uncle’s dog, Moffat, and Dylan’s sister’s cat named Ben. Not to mention, an honorary aunt/uncle to countless friends’ pets. We have had the pleasure of pet-sitting dogs and cats of all ages, including an adorable 15 year old Boston Terrier with various health issues requiring timed medication and a rescue dog that required daily physiotherapy exercises and massage for some muscle and joint pain he was experiencing. Becky works a full-time job Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Dylan is often able to stay with pets during the day and complete daytime walks & playtime. We enjoy spending as much time as possible with the pets we are sitting. Taylor went beyond our expectations and made herself available to meet our little 9 pound poodle a few times before we left for our week holiday. At first out little guy was reserved and hesitant but he was very comfortable with Taylor by the time we left and was cuddling up beside her as soon as we walked out the door. He was happy to see us on our return but Taylor is now his new favourite friend. We would not hesitate to have her look after him again and we know he would be happy to see her.

Another wonderful stay for Cosmo and Leo with Vivian! This isn’t the first time she’s cared for them, and once again, she went above and beyond. Although I had booked morning drop-in visits, she thoughtfully came back in the afternoon to check on them so they wouldn’t feel alone for too long. She even gifted them an interactive toy that they absolutely love! I’m so grateful for Vivian’s thoughtfulness, reliability, and genuine love for my kitties.

It was our first time using the Rover app and having a stranger take care of our precious pup in our home. We were extremely worried and didn’t know what to expect. Finn was a wonderful dog sitter for our English Bulldog. He came for a visit before we left on our vacation and was extremely polite and friendly. Our dog loved him from the moment he met him. Finn welcomed his affection and connected within seconds. This gave us a lot of comfort knowing our pup really liked him, which isn’t always the case for him. We also loved knowing that Finn worked as a vet assistant, as our dog has some medical needs. We knew we were leaving him in good hands as he had the knowledge and expertise to take care of all of his needs. While we were away, Finn sent cute pictures of our pup, along with detailed updates about his day. He even reached out to ask if we wanted more updates. We felt that was a very thoughtful gesture. Finn was also extremely quick to respond to our messages, which also put our mind at ease. While we were away, there was a mini heat wave at home. Finn took caution to take him out only when the temperatures were cool as he’s extremely sensitive to heat. Finn also told us the AC was keeping the house very cool which was also comforting for us to know. We left snacks, drinks, and other items for Finn, but he barely took anything. He did not leave a dish in the sink, and the house was in the same condition in which we left it, which was super clean! He didn’t even leave any garbage in the garbage can. In fact, Finn even took the time to water my plants and flowers. He went above and beyond in so many ways. He also went as far as fixing our fire alarm malfunction for us. We are truly grateful for everything he did for our pup and for us. When we arrived at home, Finn was smiling away and so was our pup. We could tell they had a great time playing and going for walks together. We know our pup will miss him! Finn left us a thank you note, and left another for our son, thanking him for letting him use his bed while he stayed at our place. How sweet is that? We look forward to booking Finn again. We hope you consider booking him too because he did a Finn-tastic job! (Sorry, I couldn’t help myself!) Honestly, Finn will take good care of your pup, and your home if you need the same support as us. Thank you Finn! You did an outstanding job taking care of our sweet pup and our home! Thank you for loving our pup as much as we do❤️

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Walnut Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Walnut Grove walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Walnut Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
