“It was our first time leaving Darby with anyone other than family but our worries were unfounded. Minerva was amazing, Darby had so much fun and was so well taken care of in Minerva's home. We will certainly continue to have Minerva help us out!”

“So grateful we found Li on Rover! She was very accommodating with an early morning drop off, followed Dodo’s feeding and health needs, and sent regular updates with photos. He was happy, calm, and clearly well cared for. Highly recommend if you’re looking for someone reliable and loving!”

“My dog Murphy has stayed with Anastasia a few times. My husband and I have hectic work schedules and we appreciate the attention Anastasia gives Murphy. Murphy goes on several walks and we get lots of picture on how he’s doing through out the day. Murphy comes home tired and happy after daycare! Thank Anastasia ❤️”

About: As an only child, my pets were the closest things I had to siblings. I grew up with Rottweilers and pugs, and siamese cats! I do have a soft spot for these breeds (and know all about the pug care: wrinkle cleaning, ear cleaning, breathing difficulties, etc). My pets were sometimes treated better than I was, which I now have a deep appreciation for. Animals are a gift to us- they deserve to be treated as such! I am a stay at home mom, so I am available any hour of the day Monday to Sunday! I am flexible and willing to work my schedule around you and your pets. Growing up, my dogs were my babies. I believe pets need to be given lots of love, affection, and attention. We are eager and excited to welcome your pet into our home! We will welcome them with love, care and cuddles. I live with my family, who all love animals. My husband Evan, and our two boys (7yrs. & 1 yr.).
“I m very happy with Li’s dogsitting Benny and with all the advised he gave me on how to better handle Benny’s reactivity to other dogs. Benny was relaxed when I picked him up and even today, a day after the sitting, we have encountered a few dogs and B was relaxed.. ufff that is great! I will plan to leave B with Li as often as I need it. I feel it was great for Benny and for me too. Thank you Li & family 🐶”

About: I’ve loved and lived with dogs and cats my entire life and can’t imagine a home without animals. As a longtime healthcare professional and nurse, caregiving comes naturally to me, and I’m attentive to the subtle changes in behavior, appetite, energy, and comfort that can tell us how an animal is doing. I’m comfortable with senior pets, special needs, and medications, but most of all, I simply love being with animals, whether walking a dog, cuddling on the couch, or patiently earning a cat’s trust. I know how much trust it takes to leave a beloved pet in someone else’s care, and I will care for yours with the same warmth, attentiveness, and affection I give my own. I have a flexible work schedule, which gives me plenty of time to make pet care a natural part of my daily routine. I enjoy being outdoors and walking, as well as having quieter time at home, so I can easily accommodate walks, playtime, feeding, companionship, and plenty of cuddles. My flexibility also allows me to be attentive to each pet’s usual routine rather than expecting them to adapt to mine. Creating a safe, calm, and trusting environment is very important to me, whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours. As a healthcare professional, I naturally pay close attention to safety, routines, medications, changes in behavior, and the environment around me. I respect each pet’s unique personality and boundaries, allowing them time to feel comfortable and build trust at their own pace. I’m also very respectful of other people’s homes and will care for your space, and most importantly your beloved pets, with the same attentiveness and care I would want for my
“Leslie took great care of my Nikki. She has never been at daycare and loved it very much especially the homecooked meal that Leslie prepares for her dogs. What a great place . I will bring Nikki back to Leslie anytime and highly recommend her.”

“Mykyta and Michelle were amazing with our German Shepherd, Maui. She normally has a tough time with new people but that wasn’t the case with Mykyta and Michelle. They also provided ample updates throughout the day of Maui having a great time. Maui will definitely be over again to see her new friend Myla!”

About: I've taken care of our family pets for many years and have a 5 year old daughter with an affinity for animals and care. We would love to take care of your fur babies! I am a stay-at-home Mom of a boisterous five-year-old; we would love to include pet time and care as part of our routine locally, because we adore animals! I have a fully fenced yard and one-level home in a great walking area, and I am always cautious in other's homes so as to leave everything better than I found it.
About: Daily walks help maintain healthy weight, cardiovascular fitness, and joint mobility in dogs; they also ward off behavioral issues born of excess energy,; For humans, these walks can reduce stress, boost mood, and even strengthen the bond with one’s dog. Pet care can fit into a daily or weekly routine by planning set times for feeding, walking, and play. Daily tasks usually include feeding, giving water, walking dogs, cleaning litter boxes, and checking their safety and mood. Weekly care may include longer walks, grooming, cleaning bedding, and restocking food or supplies. Routine and structure: Walks, potty breaks, naps, and play all at familiar intervals. I also review each pet’s supplies—making sure there’s enough food, medication, and grooming tools on hand.
“Heather was great. She is genuinely loving towards Cocoa and provided pictures, videos and text updates frequently. We were very happy to leave our dog with her. She took her out for two walks as well. Overall a great experience 👍”

About: New to Rover, not new to animals. Lower rates limited time only. Dogs have been part of my life since I was 7 years old, when I got my first dachshund. Since then, I’ve had 3 dogs, all of whom lived into old age ❤️ So I have lots of hands-on experience with dogs at every stage of life, including seniors who need a little extra patience and TLC. While dachshunds have my heart, I’m also very comfortable with larger dogs, different breeds and energy levels. I work from home full-time, so your pup will get plenty of attention, walks, backyard playtime and cuddles throughout the day. I’m also comfortable with feeding routines, basic grooming and administering medications. Most importantly, I’ll treat your dog like family and send you plenty of photo updates along the way! 🐶❤️ I work from home full-time in marketing, so I’m home and available throughout the day! Your pet won’t be left alone for long stretches and I have lots of flexibility for playtime, cuddles, feeding, walks, bathroom breaks and whatever their normal routine requires. Pet interruptions during my workday are always welcome ❤️ My schedule is very flexible, including weekdays and weekends, so I can adapt to your pet’s existing routine rather than making them adapt to mine. I want your pet to feel like they’re having their own little vacation while you’re away! Since I work from home, I’m around throughout the day to supervise, play and make sure they’re comfortable and safe. My home has plenty of space as well as a private, fenced outdoor backyard where dogs can safely get outside, play and enjoy some fresh air. We’re also only about 7 minutes from a dog park, so if your dog enjoys socializing and you’re comfortable with it, we have that option too. I’m very clean, organized and attentive, and I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal feeding, walking, medication, sleeping and care routines as closely as possible. I also love sending frequent photo and video updates so you can actually relax knowing your fur baby is happy and well cared for. 🐾❤️
“My dogs had a really great time at Shabnam’s. She sent me multiple videos throughout the day of my dogs running around and playing. I loved that she took the effort to bring the dogs inside sometimes to calm down and rest as my dog can easily over exert himself with no interventions! I could tell that both of my dogs had an amazing day and I’ll definitely be booking again for daycare and boarding!!”

Li and her daughter were very accomodating and allowed us to book a last minute daycare with their family. She sent us pictures and updating us everytime. We did not worry even for a second because of her constant updates. Thank you again and we will surely book with them again if we are around Surrey 😊

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your White Rock commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
