The Long Review: I met Gloria and Steven for a meet and greet before booking. Their communication was lightning fast and their instructions were clear and concise. They showed up on time with Wiggles (omg, what a little cutie!) and we went for a short to medium walk with the dogs outside for an introduction, potty break, and some general get to know you. During the walk, it became abundantly clear how genuinely kind and thoughtful Gloria was and Luna and I were welcomed into their home to view the space and to go over more details. I cannot emphasize enough how prepared they both were. Their home was set up with gates in case Luna needed some alone time, and Gloria had a lot of very good very important questions regarding Luna’s care. I was blown away. And so incredibly impressed. Luna is a very very easy dog to care for, but based on this initial interaction, i would not hesitate to recommend Gloria and Steven if you have a dog with more specific needs. They made detailed notes to my responses to their questions and i was so impressed with the attention to detail. I dropped Luna off and Gloria was right there waiting. I received adorable pictures and video updates during the day and you could see the smile on Luna’s face in all of them. Steven took her for multiple walks and had a great time with her. My pickup time changed and Steven and Gloria were so incredibly flexible with coordinating an earlier pickup. I met Luna and Gloria at the dog park. Luna looked so happy and I just knew she had an awesome day. 1st class communication, care, attention to detail, and love for dogs. I will ABSOLUTELY book with Gloria and Steven any time they are available in the future! 🐕❤️”

In our non-smoking studio apartment with AC for hot days, your dog will never be unattended, ensuring they receive constant care and attention. We're located near several dog parks and the New Westminster Quay for outdoor play and exercise. We provide treats (discussed for allergies), peanut butter, licking mats, bowls, Kongs, and bedding for comfort. We also accept non-spayed and non-neutered dogs. Additionally, we don't have other pets or children, so your dog will enjoy a calm and focused environment. We also love taking pictures and making videos of dogs to keep you updated and provide regular reports on their activities and well-being.

About: Hello! My name is Claire. I'm a full time professional dog handler with 15 years experience. I started working with dogs volunteering with the Pacific Assistance Dog Society (PADS), fostering and training service dog puppies. This led to a lifelong love of working with dogs, starting in dog daycares, where I learned from established positive reinforcement dog trainers. Now, I have had my own small dog walking business for the past 8 years in Montreal, Claire's Canines. I have volunteered with the Montreal SPCA and Gerdys Dog Rescue working with reactive and aggressive pups, a lot of whom had never been handled by a human or been on leash before. I use positive reinforcement exclusively; I don't use any adverse training tools such as prong colors or e-collars. I am currently in training to be a trainer, and I love working on behavioral goals. I am happy and comfortable using muzzles and halties. I always have high value treats with me to reinforce leash, walking and social skills. Let me know if your pup has any allergies and we can tailor the treats to them. Born and raised in North Vancouver, I love taking pups on hikes or for a swim at a dog-friendly beach. Whether your dog prefers an urban adventure or a forest walk, finding the best type of enrichment for them is the goal. For puppies or older pups, this can look like exploring scent trails and doing brain games, or playing with a favorite toy. Combining physical exercise with mental enrichment will set your pup up for success to be their best self, and is the first step with any behavioral issues. Dog walking is my only job, and I am flexible with my schedule. I am happy to walk morning, afternoon or evening, I'm sure we can find something that works! A big part of making your pup feel comfortable is keeping to their schedule, so I stick to their established routine as closely as possible. I personally love hiking and long walks, and as they say, a tired pup is a happy pup. This will mean something different for every pup, so we can go over their day-to-day in detail during our meet and greet. Comfortable administering any medication needed, light grooming and keeping up any obedience training. I'm certified in pet first aid through Walks n' Wags, which I continue to keep updated. I have a pet first aid kit on my person for all dog walks and forest adventures. I'm a very experienced dog and house sitter, happy to provide lots of additional references from my walking clients in Montreal.

I will follow your requests and follow your schedule if outlined. We are able to take care of a total of 3 pets at one time. But if your dog does not get along witn others please inform so we can reduce bookings during your pets stay. We are a loving family in a detached home with a fully fenced back yard. We are close to Glenbrook Ravine Park, Queens Park and New Westminster Quay. We recommend doing a meet and greet to make sure you are comfortable and our pets are comfortable! My background is in public safety but I am currently home full time for the next two years. I do walks daily. With our flexibility we are able to do pet care. We live in a detached home with a fully fenced back yard, close to trails and the ravine. My living space is pet friendly with couch covers. We allow pets in our home to lay on our furniture. In our home we have a small crate if needed. Pets are able to roam but if instructed to crate at night we would follow owners wishes. I care for dogs like I do my child and fur baby. We love dogs greatly and look forward to being your host family for your pet.
