“It was our first time with Oriana, and she was amazing! She sent me videos, photos, and updates throughout the day, so I was sure that Emilia was well cared for and had a great time. Oriana and her husband spent a lot of time playing with her, and it was clear that Emilia felt happy and comfortable. We truly appreciate the love and attention they gave her and will definitely book with her again”

“Maria and her family were super transparent and mindful with my high-drive 5.5 month old pup. They were just the family he needed to feel right at home. It’s not an easy thing to manage a high-drive sensitive puppy so I’m really glad they made him feel safe and comfortable.”

“I can’t express how awesome of a day my dog had. Multiple trips to the dog park, walks, and lots of updates. It is evident she felt loved and cared for, making her completely at ease in a new environment. I’m so grateful for the effort Gloria and Steve put in to ensure Stella had a superb day. Stella can’t wait to come back!!”

“Bruna was great, from our first communication to Belle’s daycare at her home. She was very kind to Belle and took great care of her! I look forward to booking more times with her 😊🐶”
“I’m so happy to find Jasmine. She and her hubby are super responsive and caring. It is definitely nerve wracking to find someone to leave my fur baby with and they totally get it. They sent lots of photos and even videos which was so awesome coz my separation anxiety may be worse than Hermann’s. Hermann looks like he really enjoys hanging with out with his new second fam, especially JD and Winter, who are super chill and great role models for him! Thank you Jasmine and fam! ??”

About: Hi! We are Igor and Liuda, a couple of a dog lovers. We’ve both grown up with dogs and have always had them in our lives. Right now, as we’re settling into our new life in Canada, we don’t have a pup of our own just yet—but we truly miss that connection. That’s why we’re excited to care for your furry friend and give them all the love and attention they deserve while you're away or busy. I’ve worked as a canine coach at a dog daycare, which gave me hands-on experience with dogs of all breeds, ages, and personalities. Whether it’s helping to train a puppy or providing extra care to a senior dog, I tailor my approach to each dog’s needs. Igor also worked as a canine coach and Rover sitter, and he has a calm, caring nature that dogs—especially older ones—respond well to. We’re both active and love hiking, so if your dog enjoys being outdoors, they can join us on fun, scenic walks that provide both exercise and mental stimulation. At home, we take joy in daily care—brushing, bathing, playing, and regular walks—making sure your dog feels happy, comfortable, and loved like a member of the family. Pet care fits perfectly into our routine, as we're available from 4 pm on Fridays to Monday evening. We provide regular walks, playtime as well as feeding routine( food provided by pet parents to not disturb the diet) and necessary limmited medical manipulations (pills, ointments and cleaning teeth), ensuring your dog receives consistent care and attention throughout the weekend. Our flexible schedule and love for dogs make us a great fit for your pet’s needs. In our non-smoking studio apartment with AC for hot days, your dog will never be unattended, ensuring they receive constant care and attention. We're located near several dog parks and the New Westminster Quay for outdoor play and exercise. We provide treats (discussed for allergies), peanut butter, licking mats, bowls, Kongs, and bedding for comfort. We also accept non-spayed and non-neutered dogs. Additionally, we don't have other pets or children, so your dog will enjoy a calm and focused environment. We also love taking pictures and making videos of dogs to keep you updated and provide regular reports on their activities and well-being.

“Sara was responsive and easy to communicate with from the moment I reached out. It was my boys first visit and he was well taken care of. The boys were so good with my pup and he was super happy. They shared lots of cute pics that helped put me at ease. Any first meets can be nerve racking but Sara’s super calm demeanor and assurance was amazing. I feel lucky to have found Sarah and her boys! No hesitation - we will be back!”

“Vince and Eric were very accommodating of our last minute daycare request. Our dog was so happy and comfortable with them and they made sure to keep me updated at all times! We will definitely continue to trust them with our dog!”

“Fantastic dog daycare! The staff are friendly, professional, and clearly care about the dogs. Sadie came home happy and well cared for. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe and fun place for their pup!”

About: I’ve had pets all my life, and both my son and I truly enjoy their companionship. We use positive, playful training while keeping a calm, structured home with clear rules. We enjoy long walks and outdoor exercise with pets—any weather. What we provide: • Calm, safe, and structured home environment • Positive, gentle handling and basic training reinforcement • Regular walks and outdoor activity • Dedicated feeding and water area • Cleanliness, routine, and consistent care • Regular grooming and daily attention • Plenty of affection and supervision • $20 discount for new customers • Free pick-up and drop-off within 20 km of New Westminster . I walk my own pup 2–3 times a day—usually a fun game of fetch in the morning and a long, relaxing walk in the evening. I love being outdoors and making sure pets get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I will be glad to show you my apartment and provide you with daily photos or a video call. I am also willing to verify my identity. One important rule: I need to meet your pet beforehand in order to agree to boarding. Sometimes personalities don’t match, and some dogs are not well trained.
“Janie has been the best sitter for my dog, Emilia. Her service is top-notch, and you can truly tell that she and her husband love Emilia through the incredible care they provide. Janie takes Emilia on the best walks, captures the sweetest photos, and gives her the highest quality care—better than I could have hoped for! Emilia feels right at home with her, and it’s a great comfort to know she’s in such loving hands. I highly recommend Janie for her outstanding service!”

About: LOVING HOST FAMILY FOR YOUR FUR BABY SAVE $20 ON FIRST TIME BOOKINGS WITH Promo Code: RACHEB70546 ********************************************************** Hi, I'm Rachel. I am certified in Dog & Cat First Aid and CPR. Matthew and I have had dogs our entire lives. In our home we have four children and a twelve year old male dog named Bandit. Bandit is a Maltese Pomeranian and can be barky at first but warms up to dogs within minutes. I am very honest, transparent and responsible. I promise to treat your fur baby as if they were mine! I will follow your requests and follow your schedule if outlined. We are able to take care of a total of 3 pets at one time. But if your dog does not get along with other dogs please inform so we can reduce bookings during your pets stay. We are a loving family in a detached home with a fully fenced back yard. We are close to Glenbrook Ravine Park, Queens Park and New Westminster Quay. We recommend doing a meet and greet to make sure you are comfortable and our pets are comfortable! My background is in public safety but I am currently home full time for the next two years. I do walks daily. With our flexibility we are able to do pet care. We live in a detached home with a fully fenced back yard, close to trails and the ravine. My living space is pet friendly with couch covers. We allow pets in our home to lay on our furniture. In our home we have a small crate if needed. Pets are able to roam but if instructed to crate at night we would follow owners wishes. I care for dogs like I do my child and fur baby. We love dogs greatly and look forward to being your host family for your pet.
“It was a great experience. This couple looks great and compassionate. My 9 month old puppy felt comfortable there. They were diligent throughout and kept sending me pics. It was our first time leaving him at daycare. I am booking again for my next trip.”

“Maddison is an amazing dog sitter, she handled our pup so well even given her health complications. I could not recommend Maddison enough she took very good care of our girl Nellie and great photos as well. Easy 5 stars!”

About: I have hands on experience caring for pets with all kinds of needs. I take time to listen to you and your dog and ensure that everyone feels safe and comfortable in my care. Whether I’m boarding, doing drop ins or dog walking, I do it with 💯commitment and consistency. I aim to be a steady and reassuring person so that you can feel confident your pet is truly cared for. I currently work from home and go into the office once a week. My workplace is in close proximity which allows me to drop in when it is needed. I go for minimum 2 walks a day to target 10k steps which means that your pup would be my companion during those walks 💕 I don’t personally own any pets so the home will be pet free. I have two teens who also help keep the dogs entertained when they are free but walks, feeding and main care lies on my sole responsibility. I live in a 3 story townhome which have a small front and backyard which are both fenced. We live in a great community by parks and a ravine. I usually do not do home care, however, I have had clients where I do several visits a day to ensure the home is clean and safe for their pets and also committing to walks and the dogs well-being while they are gone.

Karina has become one of Summer’s favorite people, which really shows how well she’s cared for. She looked after Summer twice a week this April and even taught her some cute tricks. She’s incredibly reliable with early drop-offs and pick-ups and is always quick to respond. I feel totally at peace whenever Summer is with her.

Irene took care of Romeo and Frida this Sunday and we couldn’t be happier with her :) She was kind, responsible, and clearly has a natural connection with animals. She made sure both pets felt comfortable and well cared for. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We would definitely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Duane and Michelle are the BEST, in my opinion! Kind, sweet, and easy to communicate with, and very accommodating with our schedule. They took amazing care of our dog—responsible, loving, and above and beyond our expectations. Thank you! We’d love to book with them again!

I messaged Oriana last minute, and she was very flexible with the schedule. This was my first time leaving my dog with someone he didn’t know, and Oriana and JL were there every step of the way with my anxious, shy dog to the point where he was cuddling and asking for scratches! They took a bunch of pictures and videos and provided me with updates! I will definitely be using her services again. Thank you, guys ❤️

Devika is a very approachable and caring pet sitter. She took good care of our 1.5 year old energetic doodle puppy and kept us updated with photos. Would definitely leave our pup again at her place and recommend Devika to our friends as well. Thank you, Devika!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your New Westminster commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
