About: I brought my pup home as a 12 week old baby and raised him to be a wonderful best friend. He was the classic pup who got into everything and went from needing constant care and potty training to a lazy old dog who still wanted to go for walks and play. I work full time and my husband works from home so we can’t guarantee someone will be home during the week but with notice we can ensure that we will be home during the weekend your pup will stay with us I have a large fenced yard and a dog friendly home. We can crate your dog at night if you provide one or your dog is welcome to have access to the house at night if they are trained

About: I have been a dog trainer for the past 26 years and I have had pets all my life. I know how important it is to find someone reliable to take care of your pet while you are at work, or away. I have had my fare share of dog walkers cancelling at the last minute so I know the frustration with finding a reliable and responsible person. I am now 50 years old and will be there for your dog or cat, as agreed and as needed. I recently lost my big Rhodesian Ridgeback. We hiked every day for his ten year life. He was a well trained (by me) but spoiled boy who slept in my bed and was allowed on the sofa. I would treat yours based on your own rules but they would be loved and completely cared for. I find myself not wanting another dog of my own just yet but wanting to take care of others while I have the time. No I don’t train monkeys or alpacas :) My schedule is entirely open starting June 15th, 2026. I can do day or evening walks, any day of the week. Boarding would consist of walking your dog everyday, max 2 dogs at a time. I have a very large home in Westwood Plateau. I have a fenced yard that we can hang out in after our walks, which would usually be in the forest where they can be on or off leash once we get to know each other.
“It was my very first time using Rover’s service so I was a little apprehensive. I arrived early and was still welcomed to drop off Bugz which was greatly appreciated. During the time Bugz was in the care I was fed photos of him looking very comfortable in his surroundings. Again a device that was not expected but certainly appreciated because it put my mind at ease about the care Bugz was receiving! All in all I was more than pleased with the service and care received during my initial use. I would recommend this person as a sitter or boarder and would have no reservations of using them again.”

“Karina took really good care of Simba. Simba is just a puppy and becomes anxious at times. Simba felt secured and he had fun.karina shared regular updates and also video. I am definitely going to book Karina again.”

“Wonderful family ! It was my first time leaving my dog with somebody I didn’t know before. Kat and Darrel were very approachable . I felt comfortable leaving my dog with them and their children. After meeting them in person , I felt they have so much care and love for dogs that my dog would feel like at home. And it was just like that . Loved their updates while I was away and the photos they sent . I was able to enjoy my trip knowing my dog was in great hands ! I would definitely recommend them .”

“Elizabeth was awesome with Sunny! She took great care of her, kept us updated, and made sure she was happy the whole time. Super reliable and easy to communicate with. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a great pet sitter!”

“Isabelle was a great pet sitter! She had our pup for a week while we were on holidays. Pepper came home safe and happy. Highly recommend Isabelle and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.”

“Our second time boarding Lenny with Alicia, and we were extremely impressed and felt so comfortable and confident with the entire experience. She has become our go-to sitter and we would 100% recommend her to everyone who wants peace of mind while traveling. She gave plenty of updates throughout the entire 2 weeks while we were away and was always responsive.”

“Just picked Toba up after 3 weeks with Tyson. She was super well cared for and very happy at Tyson's home. He played and cuddled with her, walked her, took her to her favourite spots. Couldn't have asked for a better sitter. We could enjoy a worry-free vacation knowing that Toba was safe and loved. We got updates on Toba and the trust we put in Tyson payed off. Tyson is highly recommended and Toba is looking forward to her next stay with him.”

“Deborah/Mark- were excellent with Texas and had great communication with me through the entire stay. Lots of walks and play time with taking Texas to the dog park several times. The home was very clean and homely.”

“Sthefanya was so lovely when we did our first meet and greet. We booked an overnight stay in preparation for an upcoming longer stay with our 7 month old puppy. She’s very caring & attentive. Her dog and mine were hard to separate the next day. Our puppy loved her new playmate. She sent updates and pics throughout the day and I felt comfortable and knew Poppi was in great hands. Thank you Sthefanya!”

“Kyel was an amazing person to care for our dogs. We don’t normally go on many trips as we also worry about where to leave our dogs but we tried Kyel’s service. He truly cared a lot for our dogs and it felt like they got a vacation of their own as when we got pictures and video updates from Kyel it really seemed like they were enjoying themselves. When we returned home they were searching for where he was. He is very caring for the dogs, our cocker spaniel has anxiety and we worry about him but upon the first meeting I believe he sensed he was in good hands as during the duration of the stay he was calm with Kyel. If you want peace of mind you can trust in Kyel knowing he will love and treat your dog as if it were his own.”

“Misook is s really good dog-sitter. She and her family were very attentive to my dog (which is a pretty active Jack Rassel). They followed all my tasks regarding dog-care, and even more. They walked with the dog 2 times, as well as long games with toys in their fenced garden. I am really glaf6 to find such as dog-sitter and would recommend her.”

“Exceptional care for our fur baby! We left our dog, Charlie, with Oriana and her husban Jean for 10 days, and we could not have asked for a better experience. Leaving a pet for the first time and for that long can be stressful, but we were completely at ease thanks to the frequent updates and obvious love Charlie received. He had an absolute blast and was treated like family. It was so comforting to see and gave us peace of mind that our Charlie looking so happy and relaxed while we were away. We will definitely be booking again—Charlie already misses his home away from home! Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our boy!”

Tyson took wonderful care of our dog while we were away. She is very shy around new people, but he was incredibly patient and gave her the time and space she needed to feel comfortable. We really appreciated the regular updates and photos, especially hearing about her progress each day. He also took her on walks through the trails, which she loves, and it was clear she was well cared for and happy. Knowing she was in such kind and caring hands gave us real peace of mind. We would highly recommend Tyson to anyone looking for a reliable, patient, and compassionate dog sitter!

Serena and James were great with our little anxious pup, and very understanding and accommodating with our flexible schedule. Even for one night, they kept us updated and sent pictures and videos which was very comforting. They are very knowledgeable and understanding with dogs and their various personalities . I recommend them wholeheartedly. I’ll keep driving all the way from Abby to leave my pup with them in future.

This was our first overnight with Vanessa and Ehsan. Great experience overall. Our dog (1 1/2 years old) can be a little nervous but seemed to warm up to them quickly. He settled in better than expected for his first overnight and seemed happy when we picked him up. We have already booked a 2 week stay later in the summer and feel confident leaving Cosmo with them

Our first time booking with Kate and it was awesome! Our cat Charlie loved his visit and loved Kate. Charlie did not show any signs of being stressed out and Kate sent me lots of photos during Charlie’s 10 night stay with her. I will 100% reach out to Kate again next time we need a Cat Sitter

I will definitely be sending my pup Delilah back to Christy’s! Christy really treated Delilah like a part of her family🩷I received photo updates and Christy was great to communicate with! I really appreciated Christy taking the time to confirm all of Delilah’s needs🐾

We could not be happier with our Rover experience with Sophie and Kody. They took excellent care of our pup, Kaia, and welcomed her into their family. With lots of photos and videos, we had no concerns for Kaia’s care. We would board again with them in the future without hesitation.

We had a great experience with Vivian taking care of Snoop. Her communication was excellent from start to finish, and she was incredibly attentive to every detail, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. She truly went above and beyond to make sure Snoop was comfortable, happy, and well cared for. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Vivian to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful dog sitter!

Hai Rong has looked after Batty a few times and has always been amazing. This time, she watched Batty for 10 days over both Christmas and New Years. I was on a trip out of the country and Batty got sick. Hai Rong updated me urgently on the situation, monitored Batty, and also agreed to take her to the vet or animal emergency if her condition got worse. Having Batty in Hai Rong’s care made me feel at ease and I knew she was being taken care of very well. Batty is always very happy to see Hai Rong and she loves staying with her. Definitely the best pet sitter I have ever come across and I have complete trust with her. Thank you for always taking such great care of Batty!

Lisa and her family are greatl with Hugo. We can tell he feels comfortable and happy there—he’s never overly excited or eager to leave when we pick him up, which says a lot. Lisa takes great care of him, and having the kids around has really helped him feel relaxed and at home. She clearly cares about the dogs she looks after, and we also really appreciated the lovely photos she shared. We definitely plan to continue using Lisa and highly recommend her.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
