“This was our first time using Rover. I was pretty nervous but Kris offered to do a meet and greet prior to committing which I really appreciated. She provides regular updates and photos and I felt our dog was well taken care of.”

“Sheila is fantastic. Ruby, a full of energy slightly anxious three year old Shih Tzu, was so completely contented when I picked her up after a full week with Sheila. She understands and “knows” dogs. I highly recommend Sheila and expect to ask her to care for Ruby again.”

“Denise and Paul were so so wonderful!! I knew Mila was happy and safe the whole time! They sent lots of pictures and updates and are very kind! We’ll definitely send Mila over again :)”

“This is my second time leaving Eggie to Liz. I would like to express my deepest thanks for Liz for taking such wonderful care of Eggie while I was way. During my vacation, Liz treated Eggie not just as a pet, but as a true member or her family. She took him on daily walks and playtimes, sent me so many lovely photos, brushed his teeth, trimmed his fur, and even included him in her family gatherings. Knowing that Eggie was so loved and cared for gave me complete peace of mind throughout my trip. When I came to pick him up and saw her in tears, I was truly touched-it shows just how much heart she put into caring for him. Liz is such a wonderful sitter! Thanks again!”

“Zohreh was fantastic, she sent lots of pictures and updates, took him on lots of walks and he quite enjoyed sun tanning in her backyard. I also love that she’s a vet tech, should anything go sideways while he’s with her. I would absolutely recommend Zohreh!”

“I had to extend our puppy Misa’s stay with Ran for an extra day and she was very understanding and accommodating and continued to send regular updates and pictures of Misa. It’s very comforting to know that your fur baby is being well taken care of in your absence. I know who I’ll be contacting the next time we go on another trip! 😊”

About: Hello! Our home is in South Surrey, very close to the Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre. We have done boarding in the past via our own website (PetStay Vancouver). We are lifetime pet owners and experienced pet sitters. We’re a family of 4, husband, wife, and two young girls who love boarding dogs. We all have so much love to give and love walking, playing and caring for dogs. We absolutely love the experience of boarding dogs as a family and your dog will be welcomed as a honorary family member. Me and my wife work from home (me mostly and my wife 100%), we have a huge backyard and live in a super quiet street and neighborhood. Your doggie will receive plenty of attention and have a lot of space to play and walk. We will respect your direction in terms of how your dog is trained and will give your dog as much freedom on our furniture as you allow in your own home, respecting your boundaries. Both me and my wife work from home, so we can easily fit care for your best friend on our daily schedule. The massive half acre backyard is right here and it's great for playing stimulating games and potty breaks. We have a huge yard with a lawn and trees (half acre). It's super easy for us to take your dog outside for quick potty breaks or longer walks in the neighborhood. We will follow your directions, always, with regards to what is OK and what is not. Our two cats have been through several dog boardings in our home with zero issues, they're pretty chill with dogs.
“The care that Nix provided for my one year old dog Roxy was top notch. She is knowledgeable about dogs and their nutrition, and also very passionate too. The communication between us was amazing - several updates and photos every day! Nix handled an unexpected overnight accident very well, and followed up with dog friendly food remedies to settle my dog’s stomach issues. When I came to pick up Roxy, she even had some homemade treats to send her home with! I would definitely book with her again.”

“Here’s the translation: It was Chai’s first time staying away from home, and we treated it as a trial run for a longer stay. Minerva was very open and kind about all our worries and questions, and she made sure to take care of Chai in every detail, always sending us updates and little news. Now Chai will be staying with her for 15 days, and we’re certain she’ll be extremely well cared for, with lots of love and attention.”

“Daisy and Paul provided a professional, fun, and comfortable stay for my 10 month old husky mix puppy, Suka. They provide supervised play and games, ideal for an active puppy. Daily updates, including photos and a summary of your dogs daily activities, provides peace of mind. Suka comes home exhausted, groomed, and I’m sure looking forward to her next stay. It’s clear that Paul and Daisy have an abundance of experience with dogs of all breeds and energy levels. I’d highly recommend Daisy and Paul if you are looking for a luxurious stay for your four legged family member.”

“Nikhil cared for our dog Maddie, when we were out of province. He was kind enough to keep us updated with videos of our dog, who was happily playing. His communication was especially excellent when doing a meeting and greet, and when booking his services. We would not hesitate to have Nikhil care for Maddie in the future. Thank you Nikhil!”

“Jennifer took great care of our family member Blue. (As with some human family members, our canine family member can be a handful.). Jennifer worked with our requests and Blue’s nuances/personality. Couldn’t be more pleased that we found Jennifer and were fortunate to have Blue hang out in a great environment, with customized attention. Five stars.”

“From the moment we met Lauren, our fears of leaving Pendleton for an extended stay were eased. Her confidence, warmth and kindness put all our worries behind. She updated us with daily pictures that showed the wonderful care she was giving Pendleton. He stayed with her during Christmas (and we all know how crazy that can be!) and he was very much included with her and her family’s celebration. Lauren is an absolute blessing! We are so grateful she was referred to us and we will definitely be contacting her again.”

“I left my Australian Labradoodle, Whiskey with Alice for 16 days. I have to say that she was amazing. Really happy with Alice and will not worry the next time I have to travel. The consultation was a great first step and the daily messages and photos were really reassuring. Thank you so much for caring for my beloved Whiskey while I was away. I can tell that he has been well cared for and has been thoroughly spoilt by you. Thanks ever so much.”

About: Hello! My name is Shadnay, and I’d love to experience this journey with you and your pup :) *NEW* CLIENT BOOKING GUIDELINES :) Daycare & boarding: Dogs must be around 30 pounds each to abide within strata by-laws! Rover doesn’t have these measurements for me to select prior to your search. There is some wiggle room on this considering height and hair volume, feel free to ask me about specifics! General booking guidelines: - if the pet profile questions haven’t been filled out, please send your booking request with a detailed message of what your pet(s) need - so we can figure out quicker if we are a good fit for the booking slot. About me: I have a clear understanding that every furry friend has their own uniqueness in temperament, triggers, and needs. My joy comes from learning them and providing the best care possible. I specialize in anxious & reactive dogs Including breeds and rescues who are still learning to navigate the world around them. My goal is to build their confidence in a safe and encouraging environment. All other temperaments are welcome, and loved just the same. Before finding Rover, I was successfully employed at various reputable Dog Daycare, and boarding facilities in Coquitlam and Port Moody where I started my training. From leading a pack of 80 dogs in an indoor and outdoor setting, to working with dogs who need individual attention. I’ve also worked with a private company based in Vancouver, demonstrating pack walks in off leash trails, and training under K-9 professionals during private walks with highly anxious/reactive dogs. A force free & positive reinforcement approach. A few weeks of customized care and attention will improve your dogs overall temperament and quality of life – feel free to reach out and discuss the specifics! I'm currently dedicated to taking care of dogs full-time, so they will get all my attention! My only other priorities during the week/weekend are my personal self-care appointments which allow me to show up fully for the pups, with my cup full! Each dog will have their own unique needs, and I spend a lot of time speaking with the parents to make sure those needs are met while they are away.
“We highly recommend Lisa as a pet sitter! She took care of our dog, Mr. Beckett while we were out of town. Not only did she provide excellent care for Mr. Beckett, but she also went above and beyond to ensure he felt loved and comfortable while we were away. We enjoyed the daily texts and pictures showing us he was safe and having a great time. Our nervousness about leaving Mr. Beckett for the first time was greatly reduced after we saw how well he was doing with her. Lisa would take him and her dog Ollie on daily adventures at the local parks. He enjoyed playing with Ollie and seemed very happy there. We will gladly use Lisa’s services in the future, she is trustworthy, loving and very in tune to our dog’s needs.”

“Li was amazing with my puppy Skye! She was so well cared for, loved, and happy the whole time. I got sweet updates and could tell Skye was totally at ease. So grateful to have someone I fully trust—Skye already misses her new friends!”

“Melanie is the best! We looked forward to the daily photos she would send us of our dog, Andy. He looked like he was on vacation too!! it gave us peace of mind, knowing he was so well taken care of.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
