“I had a very good experience with boarding my puppy Deeva with Leigh. She responded to my messages and also sent a picture of Deeva playing in the back yard. Deeva had a lot of fun and looked very happy when I went to pick her up”

“Elizabeth is great, our dog has stayed with her 3 times now. I was impressed at how when we arrived at her place this time Bella excitedly followed her right in without looking back. She must really be enjoying her stays.”

“Anna was awesome, kind, and communicative all throughout Luna's stay. Luna seemed to love all of the roommates. She came back happy and well taken care of. I would definitely send her back!”

“Here’s a heartfelt message for Ranah and Franki: Dear Ranah and Franki, Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Arya. She’s a dog that needs a lot of love and understanding, and without a doubt, you were the perfect caregivers to provide that. You made sure Arya felt happy and comfortable, even though she wasn’t at home. Every day, you kept us updated with photos, videos, and detailed updates about how her day was going. It was clear that you approach this work with true passion and an incredible love for animals. Your dedication and professionalism shine through, and we felt 100% confident leaving Arya in your care. We wouldn’t hesitate to make the same decision a thousand times over. Congratulations on being such amazing caregivers! All the best, Lina And Juan.”

“I’m so happy that Sara took care of my dog, Cotton! She kept me updated with photos and messages, which gave me peace of mind knowing Cotton was doing great. I could tell he was well cared for and comfortable. I’ll definitely be booking with Sara again next time!”

“Olena and her family took wonderful care of our dog Ritchie for three weeks. From the start, communication was clear and consistent – I got regular updates, photos, and videos, which made it so much easier to be away. When I picked Ritchie up, he was happy, relaxed, and clearly very comfortable with them and their home. It really felt like he was part of their family. I’m so grateful to have found such a caring and reliable sitter and will definitely book with them again. Highly recommend!”

“Wonderful family ! It was my first time leaving my dog with somebody I didn’t know before. Kat and Darrel were very approachable . I felt comfortable leaving my dog with them and their children. After meeting them in person , I felt they have so much care and love for dogs that my dog would feel like at home. And it was just like that . Loved their updates while I was away and the photos they sent . I was able to enjoy my trip knowing my dog was in great hands ! I would definitely recommend them .”

“Flora just watched our three dogs and we were very happy with her service. She was very attentive and caring and even gave our senior dog his insulin shots which can be quite challenging given how much he hates it! She took lots of photos and communicated regularly throughout their stay. Would definitely recommend!”

“We were given a peace of mind have Atlas stay with Alicia. It was our first time boarding him for an extended period of time. We appreciated the updates and photos she would send us. Atlas enjoyed his time with her and her partner.”

“Amit & Peenaz were very kind and took good care of Jewel. She ended up having very bad anxiety attacks at nighttime (which we did not foresee), and they truly tried their best to soothe her episodes. I'm so sorry for the lost sleep! 😭 We got updates the whole time and felt at ease. I hope they are willing to take Jewel for the future!”

“Maple and Otter had a great time. Connie gave me lots of updates and it sounds like they were comfortable with her family from the very start. Her dog Alpha was a great playmate and welcomed them graciously. I will definitely book with Connie again.”

About: I have been a dog trainer for the past 26 years and I have had pets all my life. I know how important it is to find someone reliable to take care of your pet while you are at work, or away. I have had my fare share of dog walkers cancelling at the last minute so I know the frustration with finding a reliable and responsible person. I am now 50 years old and will be there for your dog or cat, as agreed and as needed. I recently lost my big Rhodesian Ridgeback. We hiked every day for his ten year life. He was a well trained (by me) but spoiled boy who slept in my bed and was allowed on the sofa. I would treat yours based on your own rules but they would be loved and completely cared for. I find myself not wanting another dog of my own just yet but wanting to take care of others while I have the time. * Doggy day care max 8 hrs * House sit/boarding 24 hours * Dog walking one hour * Home visits 20-30 minutes My schedule is open but new dogs I will book solo so we get to know each other first. I can do day or evening walks, any day of the week. Boarding would consist of walking your dog everyday, max 2 dogs at a time. I have a very large home in Westwood Plateau. I have a fenced yard that we can hang out in after our walks, which would usually be in the forest where they can be on or off leash once we get to know each other.
“Lulu had a great experience with Joanne and Glenn. I think she had her own version of a holiday with them as she probably had more attention and adventures with them during her 3 week stay than she would with us! Lulu was well loved and cared for in this family setting. I really appreciate that she was allowed to sleep in the bed, as this is what she is used to with us. Lulu also got along well with Lily (the family dog) and I'm sure she would love a repeat stay!”

“My 2 year old labradoodle was exhausted after staying with Sami for 2 nights. Sami sent me photos and videos everyday and kept me updated on his walks and plays. I am very happy with Sami’s service.”

“Karina was an amazing sitter for my cat! It was her first time staying in a different home and she warmed up very quickly to Karina. Karina sent me daily updates of photos and videos which helped me feel at ease. It’s clear she gives the animals she watches lots of love and attention. I would definitely recommend Karina, and would use her as a sitter again in the future :)”

“Tori went above and beyond with my cat Mango! She was beyond reassuring with any concerns and provided daily updates. She was attentive and I came back to a very relaxed cat who didn’t even want to leave! She also gave me some suggestions which I thought was so beyond her responsibilities and you can tell she really loves cats. Mango was also very fond of her cat and I really enjoyed getting pictures of them together.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Port Moody
Kyel was punctual with his updates and took great care with our pets. You can tell he really enjoyed spending time with them. He took great pictures and even sent a few after our visit that he forgot to send previously. It’s nice to know your pets are in good hands while you are gone.

My dog and I were a bit nervous as it was our first time using Rover, but we had a great experience with Kyuho! I really appreciated Kyuho updating us with photos of our dog periodically, and you could tell that Kyuho truly cares. We will definitely book with him next time 🙂

Misook is s really good dog-sitter. She and her family were very attentive to my dog (which is a pretty active Jack Rassel). They followed all my tasks regarding dog-care, and even more. They walked with the dog 2 times, as well as long games with toys in their fenced garden. I am really glaf6 to find such as dog-sitter and would recommend her.

Klen has been amazing in looking after my fur baby! She is very experienced, patient, attentive, and pays great attention to detail. My puppy was well cared for and she had a fantastic time with Klen and her dog (Sugar is also super calm and friendly :D). I highly recommend Klen to anyone in need of pet care.
On the meeting day with Olga my dog was so happy and very comfortable with her like they knew each other very well. She was so friendly and kind . Her daughter is such a sweetheart as well. Chico was in love with her right the way lol Olga was sending me a pictures , videos and updates how Chico was doing which helped us to trust them . This was our first time with any sitter and was such a great experience. We will definitely use Olga and her family to take care of our furry baby. Thank you so much for great care of Chico!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
