Alina was great. She took the job on short notice, was here on time for every appointment, sent great feedback and Mo clearly liked her. I came home to clean boxes, full water dishes, and a well looked after cat. I'll definitely seek her out the next time I need stop in care for my cat.

Just amazing with my boy! It was my first time in his 9+ years leaving him with someone other than family. I had so much anxiety and fears around it, but Shiva alleviated all of them! She was incredible with my boy and he just loved her so much.

Feena gave us so much peace of mind while we were away because she has prior experience with animals. We needed someone to come in and help our elderly kitty with her sub-q fluids and Feena did this and also sent us lots of photos which was so nice! We’ll definitely hire her again!

About: My family and I are owners to a three year old big lab/mastiff cross who although is a gentle giant, can also get a bit crazy so if I can handle him I think I can handle anything. I’ve had a dog my whole life and I can’t imagine life without one. I have lots of experience dog sitting with both small and big dogs and there’s nothing I enjoy more than spending my days with them. When I am hanging out with the dogs I want them to feel totally at ease while keeping to their normal habits and routine, whether that be their normal walks, play time or snuggling. While you’re away from your pets they are missing you so I like to give them love and comfort while you’re gone.

About: Neighbours and family friends have leaned on me for dog and cat care over the years. Including walks, overnight care and drop-ins. In particular a beautiful mature Border Collie called Alfie who stole my heart. More recently, we cared for a gorgeous cross adopted from India in our home for 13 days. She is great at being lazy but also put us through our paces on the mountains too - the perfect combo for an active couple who also enjoy their chill time. I currently work full-time; from home in Kitsilano twice per week, and in Downtown three times per week. Can do drop-ins or walks nearby during my lunch hour, take care of your pet overnight in my apartment which I share with my partner, or evening care/walks between 5pm-10pm most nights. Please enquire for full availability, I can be very flexible! I have a two bed apartment with a balcony. No other pets, no smokers, two young(ish!) professionals who would like a dog of our own one day!

About: I'm a lifelong dog lover from the UK currently traveling around Canada. I’ve had dogs in my home all my life and have spent the last 7 years dog sitting for a wide range of breeds from energetic dogs who need long, adventurous walks, to older dogs who just enjoy a gentle stroll and relaxing in the park. I’ve also trained my own dog and a friends so I’m comfortable reinforcing commands. Being around dogs is something i miss while traveling, so I’d love the chance to help care for yours as if they were my own. I’m not working so I will be able to follow any routine the dog or animal has. I love to go on long walks so will happily take the dog out for as long as you recommend I am constantly aware of the animals in my care and keep an eye on them whether it’s in the garden at the park or in the house. This also mean I will follow any rules that the owner has set out

About: I'm not a professional pet caresman, this is not my business. I just want to be able to help regular people who want a regular person taking care of their great (but regular) dog. I really want your dog to enjoy their time with me and vice versa, but I want it be as regular and stress free as possible for all involved. If your dog has special food or water to use, that's fine. If you want them to practice their obedience training in the park, sure we can work on that. If your dog loves listening to Chaucer.. I'd probably just read them aloud the news (nothing too extreme I'm not a monster) or The Economist or possibly Watchmen. We all have our limits. I can stay overnight at your home if needed for sitting, but it's not required if you don't require it. I will keep your doggo or gato out of harm's way and won't pour water on them or feed them after midnight. Unless they only eat after midnight I guess. I work remotely and have a flexible schedule, so can accommodate most requests within a reasonable distance. If house-sitting and prefer us to stay in more to curb separation anxiety, totally doable. Or you want us to stay out to not create that issue that's perfectly fine too. I will follow your guidelines to a T. I love animals and will take care of them as my own. For housesitting stays, my partner (who also petsits often) and I usually tag team responsibilities if the owner is comfortable with it - extra attention for your furball and gives backup in case anything happens with my schedule or in case life throws a curveball.

Morgan was amazing with the care provided to both my cats, she did an amazing job , followed any guidelines given. She took exceptional care of the cats, approached them right and made sure their first sitter experience was great. She made sure that out of the two cats, the shy one was eased outta her shell and made to play too while we were gone. Would book again. 10/10 experience for both me and the cats.

Karla did a fantastic job taking care of my cat. She went above and beyond to make sure he stayed cool during a heatwave. My cat is also highly anxious and fearful; she was very patient with him and made sure he was still drinking enough water and eating. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing my scaredy cat Griffin was well taken care of. She sent photos and updates everyday which I appreciated and even vacuumed up some kibble which wasn’t expected but was lovely! I came home to a tidy space and a well taken care of cat. We chose Averi because of her high ratings on Rover, and honestly, she totally lived up to the hype. She came by ahead of time to go over everything with us, and even showed up during some pretty bad weather. That really meant a lot—it gave us a chance to walk through all the details and made us feel way more comfortable before leaving for our trip. We were away for three weeks, and Averi was super consistent the whole time. She stuck to the schedule we agreed on and sent us detailed updates every visit—lots of photos (always 10+!) plus a full recap of how our cats were doing, including food, water, and their overall mood. One of our cats is very active and has a bit of an attitude—we have to be pretty careful handling him ourselves. Averi was incredibly patient and attentive with him, which we really appreciated. When we got back, both of our cats were relaxed and doing great. That was a huge relief, especially since they had separation anxiety the last time we left them for our trip. We would 200% recommend Averi as your next pet sitter. She’s absolutely someone you can trust and will make it so much easier to actually relax while you’re away!

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
