Safety, trust & environment

Caring for your pet and maintaining your home is something I treat with deep respect and care. 🩷 I always strive to create a calm, loving, and protected environment—whether we’re out walking in nature, playing at home, or simply spending quiet time together. 🥰 I approach every animal with focused compassion, understanding, and care. I believe in nurturing pets just as their families do—with kindness, empathy, and a genuine sense of joy—while honouring their routines, boundaries, training, and distinctive personalities. My goal is to preserve the comfort and consistency of their daily lives, creating an atmosphere that feels calm, familiar, and reassuring. I’m a highly intuitive empath, skilled at reading subtle cues and adjusting my approach to match each pet’s energy, temperament, and individualized needs. find it especially meaningful to work with pets who are shy, anxious, or reactive—offering a dependable, grounded approach that fosters trust and quietly strengthens their confidence. 🤩 To ensure a smooth and respectful experience, I have a few policies in place: • A Meet & Greet is required at least 24 hours before your pets first booking. This meeting must take place in your home and neighbourhood to help your pet feel safe and begin bonding in their familiar space. 🤗 • I do not accept pets who are aggressive toward people. If your pet has reactivity toward other animals, this must be disclosed in advance. 🥺 • I do not walk dogs off-leash or take them to dog parks. Cats are never allowed outside while in my care. This helps reduce the risk of injury, stress, or unexpected situations, ensuring your pet stays safe, comfortable, and well-cared for at all times. 👍 • I provide one-on-one care only, ensuring your pets get my full attention. • Your home will be respected and left clean—paw prints wiped, mail collected, plants watered, and doors locked securely. 🏡 • I pride myself on being reliable, showing up on time and delivering consistent, high-quality care that you and your pet can count on. • I’m fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and happy to wear a mask or gloves during drop-ins if requested. Please examine your pet before booking to ensure they are free of contagious illnesses, fleas, or parasites. If your pet has been unwell within 30 days before or after a booking—or if you have concerns—please let me know as soon as you are aware. 🌟 I live in the Westhill area of Port Moody, a beautiful and pet-friendly community with nearby trails like Alfred Howe Greenway and Westhill Park. Walks may take place in your neighbourhood, in my area, or a mutually agreed location, depending on the care type. I currently serve many areas of Port Moody, Coquitlam, and Burquitlam/Burnaby. If I’m unavailable, my fiancé Khale—also a Rover caregiver—may be able to help. You can view his profile here: 👉 https://www.rover.com/members/khale-s-passionate-and-active-pet-pal/ Your home and privacy are always respected. In the spirit of mutual respect, I kindly ask to be informed of any alarms, cameras, or neighbours who may be monitoring your property during your absence. If someone is acting as a backup contact, please provide their name and contact information for emergency purposes. I operate as a fully insured, professionally run business and take safety, responsibility, and professional standards seriously in every aspect of my work. I am also pet first aid certified. I carry Commercial General Liability insurance through Intact Insurance Company, which provides coverage for general third-party risks such as bodily injury and property damage related to my services. I also maintain additional legal expense coverage through ARAG Legal Solutions Inc., which supports legal defence and business-related disputes if they arise. While Rover offers its own “Rover Guarantee” for platform bookings, it’s important to understand that this is not insurance and has specific limitations. Because every policy has limitations, I focus first and foremost on prevention, careful handling, and creating a safe, controlled environment for every pet in my care. I also recommend that pet owners maintain their own pet insurance policy or appropriate veterinary coverage for added peace of mind. 🙏

Information Carrie-Ann B. would like to know about your pet

To provide the best care possible, I need some key details about your pet. The more I know, the better I can support their comfort, routine, and unique personality. I’ll be asking about: • Your pet’s name, age, breed, and gender • Are they spayed/neutered? Up to date on vaccinations? (If they’re a puppy still completing their series, let me know which are done and which are pending.) Are they microchipped and registered with your city? • Are they a rescue? If yes, do you know anything about their background, former environment, or any trauma history I should be mindful of? • Any allergies, sensitivities, or dietary restrictions? What do they eat and what’s their feeding portion sizes? What kind of treats are allowed—and will you be providing them? (I'm vegan, but I always follow your pet’s dietary needs exactly as instructed.) • Daily routine: Usual walk schedule, potty routine, feeding times and set up—anything that helps maintain their sense of routine and normalcy while you’re away. • If your pet takes medication, I’d love to know their schedule, dosage, and how they’re most comfortable receiving it—whether hidden in treats, given directly, or another method. • Any medical conditions, injuries, or mobility issues I should know about? • Behavioural notes: Separation anxiety, reactivity, barking, leash pulling, bolting, chewing, marking, fear of noises, or clothing textures, etc. • How do they do around other dogs, animals, or unfamiliar people? • Are there rules around furniture, crate use, or sleeping arrangements? Any cozy spots they tend to hide or retreat to? • What kind of training, commands, or structure are you currently using? (I'm happy to reinforce routines using your preferred approach—positive reinforcement is always supported, whether treat-based, clicker, or otherwise.) • What brings them joy? Favorite toys, games, activities, scent walks, cuddle time, quiet spaces—what makes them happy? • Vet information: Primary vet, emergency vet (if different), and your emergency contact. Do you have a nearby friend, neighbour, or family member who should be looped in while you're away? • How often would you like updates, and through which method of communication? When caring for animals who are reactive, anxious, or still finding their sense of safety, transparency is key. I bring years of hands-on experience with rescue pets, nervous animals, and those undergoing behavioural training. I respond to these challenges with calm, consistent care, and I’m always open to working alongside your trainer, vet, or behaviourist for continuity and support. Whether helping a dog with separation anxiety feel more secure, supporting a senior’s routine, or gently guiding a fearful rescue toward trust, I prioritize their sense of emotional safety just as much as their physical well-being. By understanding the core of your pet’s needs, I customize my approach to offer a stable, reassuring foundation they can truly rely on. I take the privilege of building that trust very seriously.

A typical day

Every day with your pet is guided by their unique needs, energy, and personality. Whether they’re an adventure-seeking trail buddy 🐾🥾 or a couch-loving cuddlebug 🐶💕, I tune into their individual pace and provide care that feels nurturing, consistent, and gently tailored to their comfort— a reliable, soothing presence they can truly settle into. ☺️ My goal is to make every visit or stay feel like home, with the right balance of structure, affection, and fun. Here’s what a typical day might include: • Safe, leashed walks at a pace that suits your pet—whether it’s a brisk outing or a slow, scent-filled wander • Enrichment through personalised play—tug, fetch, puzzle games, or quiet indoor activities • Calming companionship and couch cuddles for pets who prefer stillness and warmth • Medication administered patiently and as directed • Fresh food and water served with cleanliness and attention to detail • Accident cleanup, litter box maintenance, and small chores like tidying, collecting mail, or watering plants • A thoughtful daily log is provided through your preferred method of communication, including written updates, photos, and occasional videos. 💌 Your pet will be understood, supported, and cherished in all the ways that matter most. I offer intentional, emotionally attuned care that helps your pet feel anchored while you’re away—a calm, steady energy that transforms waiting into something warm, safe, and full of heart. Their comfort and sense of security are always my top priority. I treat every animal with empathy, tenderness, and attentiveness—approaching their well-being with the same devotion and purpose I bring to my own cherished companions—offering more than just caretaking. It’s meaningful companionship: an intuitive, nurturing connection that helps your pet feel emotionally rooted, connected, and deeply cared for until you return. Every day together is a chance to create peaceful, meaningful moments that celebrate your pet’s individuality and foster a trusting, heart-centered bond. 💗

Carrie-Ann's Pet Sitting Caretaking

Pet care experience

Hello! My name is Carrie-Ann here at Carrie-Ann's Pet Sitting & Caretaking, and I’m an energetic, active person with a lifelong passion for animals and animal care. 🥰 I've been caring for animals for over 20 years—officially through Rover since 2017—and it remains one of the most meaningful and enriching aspects of my life. 💖 Throughout my life, I’ve had the joy of sharing space with and caring for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, mice, rats, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, fish, frogs, and even tarantulas. 🐶😻🐰🐭🐹🐦🐟🐸🕷️ I currently have a tarantula and three rescue bunnies—one of whom is disabled— and they are an essential part of my world. My experience includes caring for animals of all shapes, sizes, and life stages. I’ve had the privilege of supporting seniors, rescues, and pets with physical differences—whether they’re navigating the world without sight or sound, adjusting to life on three legs, or simply moving at their own pace. I have a deep affinity for animals who need a little extra understanding, and I meet each one with gentle patience, emotional awareness, and deep compassion. 💕 I’m also physically active and capable, which allows me to match the energy and mobility needs of your pet—whether that means long walks, playful runs, or extra hands-on support. At the center of my work is the deep reward of truly connecting with animals—earning their trust, understanding their cues, and supporting their emotional, physical, and behavioural needs thoughtful, responsive care. 🤗 There’s something incredibly moving about helping pets feel truly seen and emotionally cared for, cultivating a space of comforting familiarity and a strong sense of belonging—especially during transitions, moments of stress, or when navigating special circumstances—until you're home again. Caring for animals also lets me connect my love of the outdoors with my work. ⛰️🥾 I spend a lot of time in nature—hiking forest trails, sitting near waterfalls, or watching wildlife—and I often bring pets along on those peaceful adventures when I'm able. That time in nature often brings a deep sense of ease and restoration for both of us. 🧘🏻‍♀️🐶🌲 I also love photography and enjoy capturing the quiet, candid moments that naturally unfold with the pets I care for. 📸 Whether your pet has fur, feathers, scales, or something in between, I would be honoured to offer them personalized, compassionate care. My goal is to give your pet a vacation of their very own—where joy is in the details, and every day brings a mix of gentle adventure, care, and companionship. 😍 Caring for people’s beloved companions is a responsibility and privilege I take seriously—and one I deeply cherish. 💗

Carrie Ann saved me. She is so amazing. I’ve recently had neck surgery and I’m also dog sitting. Carrie Ann helped me more than she realizes. She was perfect, and my pup loved her. I highly recommend Carrie Ann for all of your pet sitting needs.

Carrie-Ann has provided great care and attention to my anxious pup. I appreciate that she helps him work through sticky moments when he struggles to find calm and helps him make desirable choices. Riley loves spending time with her, exploring the neighbourhood, playing games and giving wet puppy kisses.
