Loving Dog Care in PoCo!
Caring for dogs has been a big part of our lives for decades. Between the two of us, we’ve got over 40 years of pet care experience. Our last two pups were with us for 18 wonderful years, and we’re well-versed in everything from senior dog care and giving meds to raw feeding and daily routines. We live in a cozy two-story home in Port Coquitlam with a fully fenced yard, just steps away from parks, trails, and wide-open spaces. One of us works from home full-time, and the other teaches just five minutes away, so there’s almost always someone home. Our two teenagers also grew up helping care for our dogs and are gentle, responsible, and animal-loving. When your dog stays with us, they’ll be welcomed like one of our own: loved, cared for, and right at home. Please note that we may not respond until after work hours (5pm) on weekdays. We could not be happier with our Rover experience with Sophie and Kody. They took excellent care of our pup, Kaia, and welcomed her into their family. With lots of photos and videos, we had no concerns for Kaia’s care. We would board again with them in the future without hesitation.
We couldn’t be more pleased with the care that Sophie and Kody provide for our pup, Jackie. Jackie is a rescue who usually takes a long time to warm up to new people, but from the photos and regular updates, we could tell she settled in quickly. They treated her like part of the family, which gave us complete peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. The best part was noticing how much calmer Jackie has been since her overnight stay. 😊 If you’re looking for a warm, calm and caring home for your pup, we would recommend Kody and Sophie’s without hesitation!
I couldn't be happier with Kody, Sophie and family for taking care of Emma! They treated her as part of the family, lots of affection, long walks, playtime and company. Special mention to Cooper who is now Emma's bestie! I love the regular updates, photos and videos that they send. Puts a smile on my face everytime. Emma will surely miss them but I know they're just an email away from booking another sitting. Trusted and a class act!—I highly recommend Kody and Sophie.
Leo had a great stay with Kody and Sophie. They took great care of him for nearly 3 weeks. They sent regular updates which really put us at ease that he was in a great place with great people - we could tell how much fun he was having with them and how they loved having him around. Thank you again!
Kody & Sophie did the most wonderful job looking after my 14 year old dog! I was concerned about leaving him because it was the first time we had ever all gone away without bringing him or having one of us be with him. But from the moment he came into their home, he didn't look back. He was so enamoured by Kody & Sophie and their amazing kids that I think he didn't even notice us leave. The whole time we were away they sent us pictures and showed us what a fantastic time our dog was having - in fact, he probably had a better vacation than we did. They showed him so much love as though he was one of their own and my family and I were so very appreciative and happy to know that our dog was having the best time while we were away. I almost think my dog would've been totally fine if we never came back ;) HIGHLY recommend Kody & Sophie to care for your fur babies.
Kody and Sophie have a natural connection with animals and treats every pet like family. They are reliable, kind, and always goes the extra mile to make sure pets feel safe and happy. I couldn’t recommend anyone more highly.

Programa
Pet care naturally fits into our daily lives. We work from home and are around throughout the day for walks, meals, playtime, and outdoor breaks. During the summer, the whole family is home, including my wife and our two teens, so there’s always someone here to give your dog attention and company. We’re used to building our days around pets, and we genuinely enjoy it. Walks, feeding, and outdoor time are part of our rhythm, and your dog would be part of that too.

Your dog’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. We have a fully fenced backyard with a secure gate, so supervised outdoor time is safe and stress-free. Inside, there’s plenty of space to explore, including a cozy playroom with French doors that can be closed if your dog wants a little quiet time while still seeing the rest of the family. Our home is a mix of carpet, hardwood, and laminate flooring, with carpeted stairs for easy movement. We’re prepared for any accidents with steam mops and carpet cleaners on hand. We’re happy to follow feeding schedules and can administer light medications if needed (no post-surgery care). We can close off parts of the house if your dog prefers smaller spaces. While we’re comfortable with crate-trained dogs, we love seeing pups roam and relax if that’s what makes them happiest.

We love keeping dogs active and happy, whether that’s chasing a ball in the backyard, running through the sprinklers, or splashing around in the kiddie pool. We have a variety of toys (and enthusiastic teens!) to keep dogs entertained, and we’ll tailor the day to your dog’s energy level and preferences. We take regular walks through the neighborhood and along nearby trails, and we often play frisbee or fetch in our fenced yard. For dogs who like structure, we’re happy to stick to feeding schedules, quiet time, or light training routines. And for those who just want to hang out and rela, we’re here for that too. Every day includes fresh water, lots of attention, and plenty of play—whether it’s indoors or out. Your dog will get lots of love and stimulation while feeling safe and at home.
