“Angela was so attentive and thoughtful about caring for Ollie and we feel lucky to have found her and her family for future care. It’s always a bit nerve-wrecking to leave your dog with new people. Angela made the process feel seamlessly easy.”

“Andrew and Sergio were very kind, and went out of their way to make sure we felt comfortable leaving our dog with someone else for the first time. I would absolutely book with them again!”

“Andrew was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. His professionalism up front really inspired trust, and once we made a solid connection at the meet and greet, I knew Luna was going to be in good hands. She absolutely was treated like gold. The communication was reliable and flexible. All the photos he shared showed a very happy dog! I would 100% choose to board Luna with Andrew and his lovely partner again any time.”

“I can absolutely recommend Sidney. She took great care of my dog Scarlett over the August long weekend. Sidney was incredibly communicative throughout the process and made sure that Scarlett would be comfortable throughout the weekend. She even helped her through a fright with some fireworks that happened during her stay which I really appreciated. Will definitely be booking her again.”

“Our Shiba Yuki boarded with Sunny for 8 days, and we are so happy with the experience. It was our first time being away for so many days and leaving her with a dogsitter. Sunny is really patient. Her quiet home and calm personality is well suited for our anxious dog. Yuki bonded with Sunny immediately, which made us very comfortable and able to enjoy our vacation with no worries. She has a nice enclosed backyard for fun times, and Yuki loves it. We trust Sunny very much.”

“We recently did a trial stay with Héctor and Jeanette for our dog Ettore, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with how it went. It was Ettore’s first time staying with them, so I was a little nervous at the beginning… but they were amazing from the start. They were incredibly patient and really took the time to understand his personality. They gave him space when he needed it, but were also very attentive and caring, which made such a difference in helping him feel comfortable. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs they look after. By the end of the stay, Ettore seemed relaxed and at ease, which says everything. It gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I would absolutely trust them again, especially for a longer stay.”

Once we dropped off our dog, she provided updates via texts, pictures, and videos on a very frequent basis. She was also very understanding when there was a slight delay picking up our dog due to traffic conditions. Happy to let her watch our dog again if needed.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Vancouver
Debbie is fantastic with English Cocker Spaniel, Ruby. We've used Debbie several times now and we'll continue to send Ruby to her as long as she'll have us. Debbie takes fantastic care of Ruby and Ruby just loves her. We get daily updates with photos and Ruby goes out for walks and to the park several times a day, and gets to spend time with Debbie's chihuahua, Rio -- they get along great. Thanks again, Debbie -- we'll be sending Ruby your way again for our next vacation!

Katherine took great care of our goldendoodle! She was easy to communicate with and very understanding of our guy’s anxious tendencies. We received photos and updates each day and she made sure he got his daily medications. We’d definitely reach out again to Katherine in the future for boarding. Thank you!

We had a wonderful experience with Priscilla! She took excellent care of our dog and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout her four-night stay. Our dog was happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. We would absolutely recommend Priscilla and would happily book with her again!

Lilian made our dog feel very comfortable and the process of leaving her for a long duration easy. We received regular updates and pictures and could tell she made our pet part of her family and put us at ease. Very well accommodating to our timeline for traveling. Would use her again definitely.

Lucy had a wonderful time with Vanessa!! Vanessa made sure to keep us updated with plenty of photos and videos while we were away on our trip. Lucy definitely got to make the most of her time outside on walks and runs. Vanessa was accommodating for us when we had some issues with our ferry, meaning that Lucy had to stay a couple extra hours but that was no problem for Vanessa! Lucy will definitely be back!

Angie was incredible! One of the best sitters I’ve worked with on Rover. She was flexible with pickup and drop off times and was in constant communication with photos and updates about our pup. She asked all the right questions to make sure she understood Luna’s behaviours and what would make her comfortable. I will be going out of my way to book with Angie again.

Brittany was wonderful with my dog, Ennis, who can be reactive and needs someone patient and attentive. She communicated well throughout his stay and sent photos. When I picked him up, he was relaxed and well cared for. Brittany was also very flexible with both drop-off and pick-up times, which I really appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again.

Victoria is the kindest, most attentive sitter you will find. The love and care she showed Juniper during her stay went above and beyond every expectation. She sent daily photos and videos, replied quickly to every message, and her genuine love for dogs is contagious. I will absolutely be using Victoria's services again in the future.

We recently did a trial stay with Héctor and Jeanette for our dog Ettore, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with how it went. It was Ettore’s first time staying with them, so I was a little nervous at the beginning… but they were amazing from the start. They were incredibly patient and really took the time to understand his personality. They gave him space when he needed it, but were also very attentive and caring, which made such a difference in helping him feel comfortable. It gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I would absolutely trust them again, especially for a longer stay.

Destiny was great, very communicative right from the start, quick to respond, sent daily updates and was very flexible when we ran into delays on our trip and she had Nala for an extra night at short notice. Nala seemed very happy when we picked her up, would definitely recommend Destiny :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
