“We had such a great experience leaving our dog with them in their home. She was clearly so comfortable and well loved, and we got updates that made us feel totally at ease while we were away. Millie came home happy, relaxed, and very well cared for. We’re so grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to have her stay with them again—highly recommend!”

“Sue and her husband were fantastic with our dog Schatzi and sent us lots of photos and videos during her stay. Schatzi had a great day and evening, playing with other dogs, going on walks and getting spoiled rotten! We're thrilled to have found them and will definitely be leaving Schatzi with them again!”

“My dachshund, Poppy, had a great week with Julia and her family. The children shower Poppy with affection and lots of love. I always feel good about leaving Poppy with these lovely people. ❤️”

“Joey seemed happy and healthy when I picked him up. He was quick to resume his regular routine and didn’t experience any anxiety which indicates he had a good time with Maye and Frank. Maye sent us daily photos and was very responsive to our needs.”

“I can’t say enough about how much we were pleased with Sandra’s service. It was our first time in 7 years leaving the dog with someone. My wife was extremely worried. But the first day we received a picture of Max (our dog) walking with kids to school, we realized he is fine, which allowed us to relax and actually enjoy our vacation. Sandra is very caring, responsible and just great. We were receiving pictures and short reports every day and in general the communication was very easy and prompt. Max had a great time as well, being in a company of kids and a centre of attention, we couldn’t find a better arrangement for our dog. And actually we think he misses them. Highly recommend!”

“Andrea and Sergio are awesome. Took great care of our puppy. Came through on short notice even! Sergio works from home so she had company the whole time, and she loved hanging out with their dog too.”

“I’m so grateful for the amazing care my dog received! I booked very last minute and everything was handled so smoothly. I got weekly videos and quick replies to every message, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It’s clear my dog was well looked after and happy. I would absolutely book again and highly recommend!”

“Avigail is a wonderful lady! She is calm and softly spoken. Tia is a sensitive Labradoodle with some allergies. Avigail made sure she totally understood Tia’s needs and her personality. We came home to a pup who was extremely well loved and cared for! If you are looking for someone who loves your “fur baby” and does a 💯% job of making sure your instructions are followed…Avigail should be your choice! We will be requesting Avigail when we need a competent “sitter” ❤️”

“Coco and Hiaqian always go above and beyond with the care of our dogs. We always get daily updates and photos, and you can tell that they really love dogs. We feel that our dogs are always in great hands when staying with them. Thank you again!”

“Nana (our German shepherd) had a great time with Sara and her family. Sara is very knowledgeable and always goes the extra mile to make sure our furry friend had a blast while were away. She is very patient and caring. We really appreciated the frequent updates about Nana—it was truly amazing seeing our dog so happy in all the photos!”

“It was our first time leaving our dog for 3 days, and we honestly couldn’t be more grateful to have left her with Connie. Her schedule was followed and she got so much attention, treats, and love, especially during playtime with her dogs, cats, and family! We felt very at ease the whole time we were away knowing she was in such good hands.”

“10/10! Benjamin and his family took such good care of Sydney and sent lots of update photos of him settling into his staycation :) Appreciated their care so much; thank you!”

“Mandy and Jacky are the most attentive, loving, and caring sitters. Our dog Oscar is a senior and has some special needs when it comes to eating and they so accommodating. We could tell he loved being with them and spending time with them. In fact, he made himself at home right away! Thank you again, and hopefully Oscar will have another opportunity to stay with you!”

About: I have a unique skillset with dogs and I'm experienced and comfortable with challenging dogs of all sizes. We recently said goodbye to our 14 year old rescued Catahoula, which gave me hands on training for dogs with severe anxiety and senior care. Structure, leadership, and the ability to form a bond are my top qualities. I work from home and always have time for animals! Whether it's a drop in and play, walk, or boarding at my home, dogs will always get my full attention. Looking after your pet is a responsibility I don't take lightly. I'm always reachable by phone and will send frequent updates to you via text or email about your pets well-being while in my care.
“This was the first time leaving George with a non family member. Ashleigh made us feel so comfortable and that George would be looked after. She sent pictures and updates which made us feel happy. George really enjoyed his time and I could see he was cared for and was treated like a king. Thank you and we will book again with Ashleigh, as we know she really cared for our Mr George. This was a great experience.”

“We felt completely comfortable leaving our anxious dog with Iris, she took great care of him. We feel lucky to have such a good option if we need it again in the future.”

“Joanne and Glenn were amazing and sent lots of updates (photos and videos)! Pavo integrated seamlessly with their family and didn’t even want to leave at first. 🙈 I would definitely recommend them to anyone that’s looking to board their dog!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ladner
This is the first time I use Rover, I found Ellen and Richard for my dog boarding, they planned meeting and great time which I found it’s great for us to know some each other before kicking off the boarding. During boarding, Ellen and Richard keep me posted questions they have, walking my dog, playing with my dog, sharing happy moments they catches from my dog, I am so peaceful of mind having Ellen and Richard talking care of my dog! Strongly recommend Ellen and Richard! Our local community star sitters!

Mia was a perfect fit for taking care of our big sucky Doberman! She made sure to give Roxy the same care that she's accustom to at home - allowing her to cuddle in bed and making sure she was snuggled up in her blankie. Roxy loved the frequent walks and all the attention! We'll be sure to check in with Mia for her availabilty when planning our next trip.

Yijie was an amazing dog sitter. My dog is quite anxious, and this was the first time I had ever left her while traveling, but Yijie made the whole experience so reassuring. She was very attentive to all the details I shared about my dog’s feeding, walks, and moods, and she took her on several walks and little outings. She also kept me updated with lots of photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dog was clearly comfortable and well cared for. I’m very grateful and would absolutely trust Yijie again. Highly recommend!

Jenney was such a great help for me and my Floof! I needed an overnight and Jenney made me feel so safe! My sweet puppers was enjoying themselves so much and I was able to be at ease knowing that they were in a loving space! Jenney thank u so much for everything! You're a rockstar!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Ladner home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favourite hang-out spots in your Ladner
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 82% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
