“Allison always replies promptly, gives updates on Burkley and leaves the place looking the same as how I left it. I’m a return customer and I will continue to be! I would recommend her.”

“Christina was incredibly easy to work with and plan with. I'm hoping to use her service again. My Dog Rosie was very happy to see me when I returned but was clearly kept active and happy while I was gone.”

“Heather was so fantastic. She provided me with peace of mind on my first trip away from my precious little dog. She kept me updated with pictures and videos and my house was cleaner than I left it! I would not hesitate to use her services again and to recommend her to anyone.”

About: Six years ago, I discovered my passion for caring for dogs. Since then, friends and family have entrusted me with their beloved fur babies, knowing I’ll care for them with the same love and attention as my own. I currently focus mainly on weekend house sitting services. This allows me to provide pets with dedicated attention, companionship, and a consistent routine while their owners are away. I also have a respectful, animal loving 9 year old daughter who will accompany me during visits or house sits. She has grown up around animals, understands how to be gentle and calm with pets, and loves helping give them attention and affection when appropriate. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always prioritize keeping their routine as consistent and stress free as possible. I take the time to learn each pet’s schedule, personality, and specific needs so they feel safe and comfortable while their owner is away. I’m attentive to feeding routines, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and making sure pets receive plenty of affection and companionship. I also respect and care for clients’ homes as if they were my own, and I provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are happy and well cared for.

About: Animals mean the world to me. I grew up with Pure Breed Bouvier dogs, Persian and Himalayan cats. I was no "stranger" to cleaning dog runs, bathing, brushing and combing their fur. As well as, assisting with their oral hygiene. I truly feel in my heart that all animals need love, compassion, companionship, guidance, comfort, and assistance. They are our family!! Whenever you look into an animal's eyes you can see deep within their soul and spirit. It's an incredible and amazing feeling. Animals, give us their complete vulnerability and as pet owners/family, we are supposed to: * Protect, nourish, and love them*. I am here to: "take away" your worries, your stress, and your anxiety! I am professional and compassionate. I am here for you and your "Furbabes". Thank You Natalie

About: I have had dogs on and off my entire life. I adopted an older dog in my twenties who had severe arthritis and cared for him until his final days. This gave me hands-on experience with senior care and medication administration. I have house sat for my family and friend’s dogs throughout the years and given the dogs medication whenever it was needed. I have also been on many walks, runs and hikes with dogs and am able to handle high-energy dogs. My partner and I currently own a dog who is anxious and has some separation anxiety, and so I have a lot of patience and can handle more nervous/anxious dogs. Because of his anxiousness we are almost always with him and have a very homebody lifestyles with tons of positive reinforcement and desensitization techniques. I work as a flight attendant Monday to Wednesday's, and the rest of the time I am home. Whenever I am home I am fully available for pet sitting, dog walking and house drop ins. I mostly spend my days off going for long walks along the seawall, running, camping and enjoying time at home with my dog. I have a very flexible schedule with a lot of time off so it allows me to be fully present for any dog care. I currently live in an apartment in Fairview with easy access to the outdoors. There is a dog park about 10 minutes away from my place along with the seawall for walks. I live in a quiet neighbourhood that is very dog friendly. There is a vet at a 10 minute walk if ever it was needed.
“Rachelle was very communicative and treated our dogs and home with care and respect. This was our first time having her dog/housesit but she has come by for doggy visits previously. Our two big dogs can be a bit rambunctious on walks but she managed without any issue. We have no hesitation recommending Rachelle to anyone looking for dependable care for their pups.”

About: I’ve been working with dogs professionally in both Miami and Vancouver, and grew up with two dogs of my own back in Mexico 🐩🐩🇲🇽, so dogs have always been a big part of my life. I’m experienced with all sizes and ages, from energetic puppies to gentle seniors, and I treat every pup with genuine care, patience, and plenty of outdoor fun. 🐾 Outside of dog walking, you’ll find me hiking, camping, or exploring with my camera 📷, which means your dog gets an active, adventurous companion on every walk! I know how much your furry family member means to you, and I promise to treat them like my own. ❤️ My availability may vary, so feel free to send me a message and we can chat about what works best for you and your pup! 🐾😊 I don’t have pets of my own, so your pup gets my full, undivided attention! I live in an apartment with access to a private fenced garden, perfect for some safe outdoor time. For walks, we’re spoiled for options: I’m just steps away from a huge green area, and close to Burnaby Lake and Central Park – so your dog gets fresh air, nature, and plenty of room to explore. About: Hey fur friends, I am an animal lover through and through! As an experienced dog trainer & rehabilitation specialist your pets well being is my #1 priority! Growing up I was lucky to always be surrounded by a zoo of animals and started dog walking/ pet sitting at a young age. My schedule is flexible since I work from home with a flex schedule and the rail trail is around the corner from our home with a great dog friendly low traffic swim area just 10 minutes down the trail. Local dogs here are friendly! I rescued my dog from Guatemala. I spent a lot of time rehabilitating/ training him so you would never guess he used to be a street dog! I have many years of experience offering dog training, rehabilitation, boarding and grooming. I foster/rehabilitate animals in need when they find their way to me and spent years volunteering at the SPCA. *Note that when I have a rehab animal I will be marked away from the site. Due to my experience with rehabilitation I am comfortable accepting: • Special needs animals • Rescue animals • Nervous/shy animals (my dog is respectful of space) • Animals who are on meds • Untrained puppies/ kittens • Quirky pets * Let’s chat about your pets unique needs! I offer quality care and often go above and beyond for my clients in order to build trust, safety and community in the fur family club! Im looking forward to hearing from you and your pets! Warm regards, Alyssa I run a private online counselling practice from home so my schedule is flexible. Currently I’m on maternity leave with my baby so we have lots of time for fur friends! My 10 year old dog is gentle and friendly and loves all other animals! I have treat puzzles to share and love teaching old dogs new tricks! :)
About: I have several years of experience caring for dogs and cats of different sizes and personalities. I’m patient, calm, and observant, and I always take time to learn each pet’s routines and preferences. I have experience with puppies, senior pets, and shy animals, and I can provide walks, feeding, litter box cleaning, playtime, and medication under owner instructions. I almost graduate. I only have one course in this semester. Therefore, I have enough time and patience to take care of the dog and cat. Safety is my top priority. I keep dogs on leash during walks unless in a secure enclosed area. I never introduce pets to other animals without permission. I follow all feeding and medication instructions, monitor behavior, and keep clean water available. In the client’s home, I make sure doors and windows are secure and respect house rules. I send regular updates so owners feel confident and informed.

Heather was a dream come true for us! Her level of experience and care for our dogs while we were away made it possible for us to have a great time and know our fur babies were well and happy. We can’t thank her enough and would love to hire her again in the future. Thank you Heather!

Allison was awesome! She’s super professional and really friendly-made everything feel easy and stress-free. Our two dogs totally adored her and were so happy and chill when we got back. She sent tons of cute updates (photos and messages) the whole time we were away, which kept us relaxed. Plus, she kept an eye on the house too. 10/10 would book her again in a heartbeat!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Gibsons on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gibsons maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gibsons walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gibsons choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
