“Jessica is amazing with my pup, Molly! She clearly loves dogs and takes such good care of her. Many walks during the day and reporting back to me with photos, which is very much appreciated. My dog is 12 lbs and adores her dog, Sheriff who is a 75 lb black lab. I don’t think Molly knows she’s small lol. I take her there once a week and I know she will have a fun filled day. I highly recommend Jessica as a caregiver for your pet - she’s great!”

“Kimira was fantastic! Very flexible and super accommodating. She sent us photos and updates throughout the day and our four year old pup was very happy when we picked him up from his day with her. We definitely recommend her!”

“Keetah was so great with my crazy dog! Such good communication - lots of updates and photos provided! Tucker already can’t wait to stay with her again (after a long nap). Would highly recommend!”

About: I am a warm and loving pet enthusiast with a lifetime of experience caring for dogs. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my life with 14 dogs of my own and fostering many more. My journey has taken me from walking packs on the beaches of Australia, to the stunning Andalusian mountains and now the exquisite trails on the West Coast of Canada. Known by many as a “dog whisperer,” I have a natural ability to connect with dogs, who are instinctively drawn to me. Currently, I enjoy walking two beautiful Border Collies alongside my own Beagle, and on some days, I can be found in the woods with a joyful pack of four or five furry companions. My love for animals extends beyond pet care—I also help people navigate the grief of losing a beloved pet through my hypnotherapy practice. Every dog in my care holds a special place in my heart, and I am deeply committed to ensuring they feel safe, loved, and happy. I am a Hypnotherapy Practitioner, specializing in pet loss. I work both from home and online, which allows me the flexibility to align my schedule with pet-sitting commitments. This means I can dedicate plenty of one-on-one attention to your pet, ensuring they feel loved and cared for. While in my care, your furry friend will enjoy long walks, playtime in our secure, fenced yard, and plenty of companionship, so they never feel alone. Their happiness and well-being are my top priorities, and I’m committed to making their time with me as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I have a fully fenced and secure yard, where your pet can enjoy playtime with my Beagle, who is very sociable and polite. My home is inviting and welcoming. All dogs that I’ve had stay have been comfortable and happy.
“Christina and her family are amazing, very kind and Floki was so happy when we got him back. He played all day at the beach and climbing gym. Communication was excellent and she also sent us pictures of Floki during the day! Highly recommend her!!”

“Once again Menghan has exceeded my expectations with caring for my dog Domi. Menghan switched her schedule and accommodated my last minute requests several times and I can’t appreciate her enough. I fully trust my dog around her and I would recommend everyone to find her. Thank you so much Menghan!”

“Irene is amazing. We messaged her last minute on a Saturday evening and she took Milo and her dog for an evening walk together down to the seawall. She took photos of the two of them together on their walk and sent them to use while we were out. 10/10!”

“We are so glad to have found them. We had a hard time looking for dog daycare due to our dog's breed. We've booked them at a short notice and they were quick to respond. The Guy and Zol are knowledgeable with dogs. We were surprised that our fur baby easily warmed up when he saw them. We highly recommend Guy and Zol. We'll get their services on our next trip to BC.”

“Jennifer and David were great with Momo!! Thank you for reporting all the walks and the potty breaks!! And thank you for all the pictures throughout the day!! They were soooo reassuring and comforting!! 🙏🏻😊🙏🏻😊 It made having her with a new sitter very reassuring and I could focus on the requirements of my new job knowing that my girl was being well cared for.”

“Anna took great care of our dog Puffin in her home. He was so happy to see her when we arrived which was an amazing sign. Puffin had lots of opportunity to play, look out the window and sleep on a cosy pile of blankets. Anna also ensured that Puffin got all of his bathroom breaks and walks as needed. I also received lots of updates and pictures throughout the day. I would 100% recommend Anna for doggy daycare services.”

“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Lisa for taking care of my dog, Rollo. He had a wonderful time with her and fluffy friends, and she is a reliable pet sitter. We will definitely recommend her services. Thank you for providing excellent care to us. We are looking forward to seeing Lisa again.”

“Angela was super accommodating to my last minute, literally, night before request. And Riley immediately responded to Angela despite usually being reserved during an initial meeting. Angela was super responsive and really helped me out a bind. And you could see she really has a wonderful connection with animals. She took Riley for a nice long walk and shared photos. I’ll be using her services again.”

“Amazing experience! We will definitely come again - Barney was well taken care of. Yoonjoo was really responsive, very friendly, and sent us pictures of Barney while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“I can't recommend Jinju enough as a dog sitter! She's been absolutely wonderful with my dog, Jane. Jinju is incredibly responsive - she always gets back to texts very quickly, which put my mind at ease while I was away. But even better, she goes above and beyond by sending multiple updates throughout the day, including texts and pictures. It was so nice to see photos of Jane looking happy and playful!”

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Gibsons commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 79% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
