Dog’s Dream Getaway

The location of our home is so ideal for dogs. We are right next to a large dog park where there is a separate fenced area for small dogs and a large general area for dogs of all sizes just steps from our front door. If your pal likes more adventure, we have a large green belt with a creek and endless networks of trails, there are also large fields where they can chase balls safely. We also take larger dogs or pups with bigger energy up to Golden Ears to hike if they enjoy trails. I have owned a dog in a primary care capacity for 15 years but do not currently own a dog. I have experience with dogs who have anxiety, aggression, and dogs who have health issues/medical needs. I have managed dogs in emergency situations, such as wildlife encounters or rescuing a dog that has fallen through the ice or into a tree well. I am trained in St. John’s ambulance first aid and understand and have some exp. with how to perform first aid on animals to get them to emergency care. My daughter, who is 11 years old, also lives in the home. She works with horses and really enjoys the training aspect of having dogs stay with us. If you have a dog that needs a job or even just really needs to be reminded what to do a lot she’s an asset. In the evenings, we like to spend our time at home we have a dog wash station on the property to clean our pals up if we’ve had too much adventuring during the day. They are allowed on the couches and beds even if they are a little bit messy … what is the flat bedsheet really for anyway? We have a patio area if they like to hang out outdoors and listen to the neighbourhood or they can snuggle up with us. Our cats are super friendly and one of them thinks he’s a dog so hopefully your pal enjoys feline friends. They have been well accustomed to dogs and are VERY curious and friendly with visitors.

Randona is so communicative and respectful, and I'd recommend her to anyone. She takes great care of my boy, and you can tell she genuinely cares about what she does.

This is our first week having Randona walk our dog Caliann and so far Caliann seems to really like her and has been excited to see her when she comes. Randona takes lots of photos each walk and leave a sweet little update about how the visit went. I appreciate her taking such good care of our pup.

We had a great experience with Randona. Great communication and frequent updates about our Lab Nala. She went above and beyond to make sure Nala had a great time.

Schedule

I am currently home full time and available for intensive interaction throughout the day. My daughter attends school during the day when there is school and generally takes dogs to the dog park for half an hour to an hour every evening when she gets home. I like going for walks early morning and mid day, depending on the temperature and whether pets can tolerate. We have a very flexible routine and are honestly intending to be centred around our houseguests when they are here more than our own specific routines.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a station wagon with air conditioning that has a flat cargo area to transport pals. For bigger friends we are able to fold down the seats to provide an open area and smaller friends can ride with us if they are a little nervous! We are really easy-going people and will interact with your pals as much or as little as they feel like interacting with us. This is about them and it’s about creating an environment where they feel comfortable, especially because it’s not always easy for all the pals out there. We understand that and just want to do whatever it takes for your friend to feel cared for, whatever that means.

Pets

A typical day

We can swim, run, walk, relax, go visit friends! Whatever their favourite things are! Let’s do them together! We are lucky to be close to many parks and fun areas to explore!

As we live in an apartment building it is good to know about any fear or agression with people/other animals as I will usually take the stairs in that case to avoid encounters in the elevator :)
