Averi did a great job, from beginning to end. She answered my messages, booked a meet & greet, and scheduled our walks promptly. She always arrived within the agreed upon time frame and walked our dog for a full hour, providing us with lots of photos from the walk. Our dog always came back happy and ready for a nap. Would definitely hire her for walks again.

Such a kind man. My dog came back, so calm and happy. I love that he sent me 27 photos. There can never be enough photos of my dog! He also was so patient when I was a little bit late. My dog loved him.

About: I have house-sat to take care of friends cats and dogs of all sizes and temperaments several times over the past 10 years. I have a deep love for animals especially after losing my own cat a few years ago. My references can attest to my thorough and caring work when looking after their furry family and I can assure you I will do the same with yours! I have an affinity for cats specially and understand animal body language and boundaries (especially with strangers). I currently am a full time student about to graduate from SFU next year and work full time for the summer (7:30am-3:30pm). I am extremely flexible and can work my schedule around whenever you need! Same day appointments can be made in emergencies but I prefer at least one day of notice. I can easily adapt to your animals needs when I look after them, being able to read their body language and understand their cues! I love to cuddle and play with them but am also happy to give them their own space to ensure they are not stressed or scared during your absence. I am here for their (and your) comfort!

Victoria was fantastic with my dog! It was great she could take on such a full walking schedule, on such short notice, before my vacation for two weeks. I loved seeing the pics and videos and seeing where they walked. I could always see my dog wagging her tail (through the door bell camera) happy to see Victoria for her evening walk. It felt good to see my dog excited. Thanks a bunch! Hope you have time in October to help us.

About: What sets me apart is that I’ve grown up with dogs and currently have three of my own, so I’m very comfortable with different personalities and energy levels. I have experience walking neighbourhood dogs and can easily build trust with new dogs. I’m also confident reinforcing basic commands and good leash manners, and I always focus on keeping dogs safe, happy, and comfortable while in my care. Pet care is already a big part of my daily life since I have three dogs at home. My day naturally revolves around walks, outdoor time, and making sure they’re cared for, so adding more pet care fits in easily. With a flexible schedule, I’m able to take on walks and visits throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs, so it’s something that blends into my routine in a really easy and positive way. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, and any special instructions. I make sure they have fresh water, attention, and a safe, comfortable environment. During walks, I focus on safety, exercise, and making sure each dog is happy and comfortable.

About: I have been caring for dogs for 8 years. I have experience with all breeds and sizes of dogs, from small puppies to large adult dogs. I am comfortable with administering medications, providing basic grooming, and providing exercise and playtime. I am passionate about providing the best care for each individual dog and strive to make sure they are happy and healthy. I am currently a Medical School Student with lots of time going into my studies. However, I always prioritize movement and activities that bring me joy- like being around animals. I find dog walking is the perfect break between studying that fulfills my needs of physical activity and some friendly dog energy. I can easily manage my time to accommodate my clients' needs, while still having time for my own activities. I can schedule my appointments around my other commitments, such as my studies, allowing me to provide quality pet care services while still having time for myself. I have always put a lot of care into the pet services I offer. When dog sitting or dog walking, it is important to take safety precautions to ensure the safety of both the pet and myself. I make sure to keep the pet on a leash when outside, and never leave the pet unattended. I'm aware of the pet's behavior at all times and watch for signs of aggression or distress. I make sure to provide plenty of water and food, and keep the pet away from any hazardous materials. Finally, always be sure to clean up after the pet and dispose of waste properly.

About: I’ve been surrounded by all kinds of pets my whole life—pretty much anything you can think of! Dogs, cats, hamsters, birds, fish, turtles, rabbits, and even guinea pigs! Back home in Ecuador, we have 7 dogs and a cat, and life is just better with them around. I absolutely love taking care of animals and making them happy. There’s nothing better than spending quality time with them—it always makes my day! I have three days off during the week, and I love spending that time outdoors in nature. Taking a dog for a walk would make it even better! Caring for pets is so rewarding for me. It is a fulfilling experience for me! I always make sure pets eat according to their owner’s instructions and keep their water bowl clean and filled with fresh water. I also like to have their favorite toy nearby so they feel comfortable with me. Respecting their space and making them feel safe is a must!

About: My family and I are owners to a three year old big lab/mastiff cross who although is a gentle giant, can also get a bit crazy so if I can handle him I think I can handle anything. I’ve had a dog my whole life and I can’t imagine life without one. I have lots of experience dog sitting with both small and big dogs and there’s nothing I enjoy more than spending my days with them. When I am hanging out with the dogs I want them to feel totally at ease while keeping to their normal habits and routine, whether that be their normal walks, play time or snuggling. While you’re away from your pets they are missing you so I like to give them love and comfort while you’re gone.

About: I love pets more than people! I would love to hang out with yours!💜 I've had pets my entire life and, as a proud cat mom to two of the best kitties, I know how important it is to ensure your pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. Whether it's feeding, playtime, or administering medications, I'm the person friends turn to when they need someone trustworthy to look after their pets. I recently took my two cats on an extended road trip, and they did wonderfully—proof of my ability to care for animals in all kinds of situations! I love animals more than people, and I'll treat your pets with the same level of affection and attention as my own. I’m self employed and often work from home. I have lots of time to visit and exercise your pets. I also go for walks/hikes often so I would love to have your pet join me! I have 2 cats that are cool with small, cat friendly dogs. Have a fenced in concrete patio (no grass.) I also live across the street from a park and several walking paths.

"We are so incredibly grateful for Fari! Since Chawan has three legs, we are always careful about who walks her, but Fari was so patient, gentle, and kind. She treated Chawan like a member of her own family, and it was comforting to receive sweet photo updates during their walks. We could tell Chawan felt completely safe and loved. If you are looking for a dog walker who genuinely cares, look no further. We will absolutely be booking with Fari again!"

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in Anmore. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighbourhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Anmore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 86% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 90% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
