Safety, trust & environment

I have 2 adorable kitties that are very social with people, however they're nervous around other animals. With the right fit, I'm happy to house your pet at my home and give them lots of couch cuddles! My building is animal friendly and close to multiple outdoor trails, perfect for dog walking. At your home, I'd be sure to be respectful of your space - making sure your home is locked and secured and everything is just as clean and tidy as when you left! I'm happy to continue whatever routine is best for your pet, whether that's twice daily walks or a 30 minute playtime session before bed, I'm your gal.

Information Megan S. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your pet has any anxieties or other needs I should be aware of - e.g. are they anxious around other animals or are aggressive/reactive towards dogs? Do they have any dietary requirements? Are they nervous around children? Are they super high energy and require multiple walks a day? The more information the better!

A typical day

While I love a couch cuddle session, I want to make sure the animals I watch are getting the exercise and stimulation that they need! I typically will do a 30-60 minute walk a day, more as needed for high-energy dogs. If I have access to a fenced in yard I love to spend time throwing the ball to get some extra energy out! I like to take dogs to parks or other on-leash wooded areas so they have access to lots of different stimuli that they can smell and explore. After some exploration I bring the pet back home for some extra cuddles and/or play!

Pet care experience

I've lived with animals my entire life and cared for them since I was a child! Growing up with a veterinarian for a dad, my love for animals was always encouraged. Our home was known as "the zoo" for the amount of pets we had: fish, birds, hamsters, and of course dogs and cats. I bonded particularly with my childhood dog Gemma, who was absolutely my best friend - and now I'm the proud owner of two rambunctious kitties (Chandler and Phoebe) who I adore! In addition to my family pets, I also have experience working in both a vet clinic and a wildlife centre as a teenager, as well as petsitting for family and friends. When I'm petsitting, the first visit is spent getting to know the pet - I take it at the pace they're comfortable with, making sure I'm not making them scared or uncomfortable by getting too rowdy too fast! Depending on the energy levels of the individual dog I typically take them on one walk a day, with some indoor playtime as needed. And, of course, lots of snuggles and pets. I understand the strong bond a person has with their pet(s), and I'm committed to providing the best care possible to your furry loved ones. With personal experience caring for animals of all types - the young and the old, the healthy and the sick, the energized and the couch potatoes - I'm confident I'll give your fur baby the care and attention they deserve!

Megan was so wonderful with our dog! She is an excellent communicator, clearly knows animals well, and took the time to know and understand how our dog could be cared for best. I’d recommend her in a heartbeat!
