Your Pet’s New Favourite Aunt
I’ve had cats and dogs since I was 5 years old — if thinking my neighbour’s cat was ours because he was always at our house counts. If it doesn’t, then since I was 10, when we rescued a lovely little poodle. Since then, I’ve had a wonderful Chow Chow for 9 years, followed by two medium-sized mixed-breed rescues that I trained from puppies. So I’ve had plenty of experience with different personalities, energy levels, and the occasional stubborn little character. I genuinely love all kinds of cats and dogs, and I have the patience and resilience to understand them and work with their individual personalities. By no means am I an expert, but I know the basics, I’ll follow whatever routines and instructions you give me, and I’m happy to reinforce the training you’ve already established. And if you allow me to spoil them a little bit… I’m also a very experienced great aunt. ❤️

Ratings and reviews
A wonderful sitter for my dog. Great communication back-and-forth. She was also flexible in accommodating with my days and times.

Ligia was awesome! I had a very last-minute sitting request. She got back to me right away and accepted. Excellent communication. She took great care of my dog. Would highly recommend her.

My dogs love when they stay with Ligia! She is super responsible, caring and gives them all the attention they desire. I have used pet resort/daycare facilities before but I believe they feel more comfortable when it is just them with our sitter. She takes care of them as if they were her own, and that puts me at ease.
She’s incredibly responsible, caring, and attentive, and I always feel completely comfortable leaving my puppy with her. Most importantly, he absolutely loves her! It’s clear how much she genuinely cares about him, and I know he’s always in great hands with her. Lígia is a wonderful pet sitter, and I would happily recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and loving to care for their pet!

Schedule
I live by myself and work from home three days a week, taking breaks throughout the day to stretch and move my body for a bit. Your pup or kitty will be a great company for me to either stretch, keep my lap warm, or help me meet my daily steps goal!
Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I live by myself in an apartment, so when your pet stays with me, they get my full attention — no kids, no other pets, and I never take pets from different families at the same time. Just your pet and me, their private aunt. I’m very mindful of pet safety at home. I’m careful with windows and the balcony, keep only pet-friendly plants, and have them safely together in one area. I’m also pretty minimalist, so there aren’t many unnecessary hazards or things for a curious pet to get into. I live right by the Seawall and close to Cooper’s Dog Park, so friendly dogs have plenty of great options for walks and outdoor time. I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routine, including feeding, walks, medication, training reinforcement, and of course, as much cuddling and spoiling as you allow!
A typical day
For dogs, I’ll follow their usual routine and only give treats that you’ve approved. We can take walks around the neighbourhood, and if they’re staying with me for the weekend, the weather cooperates, and you’re happy with it, I’d love to take them on a hike or to the beach. I also live very close to Cooper’s Dog Park, so if your dog is friendly and you’re comfortable with it, they can have some social time and play with other dogs. For cats, I fully respect that they have their own rules. 😄 Their preferred care may include, but certainly isn’t limited to, cuddles, playtime, keeping them company, and generally being available whenever they decide I am worthy of their attention. We can also read books together, because apparently cats are excellent reading companions

- Please tell me a little about your pet’s routine, personality, and preferences so I can make them as comfortable as possible. A few things that are especially helpful to know: What is their usual feeding, walking, and potty routine? Are there any treats, foods, activities, or places they should avoid? Are they comfortable on a leash, or do they tend to resist/pull? How are they with other dogs and with new people? How do they behave around other pets? Are there any fears, triggers, separation anxiety, or behaviours I should be aware of? Is there anything that usually helps them feel safe and comfortable? I live by myself and don't have any pets, but there are other people and pets in my building, so knowing how your pet reacts to those situations helps me plan their care and keep everyone safe.
