About: We’re a reliable North Vancouver pet-care team, with myself, Ivan, as the primary sitter and main point of contact. I currently have full weekday availability for pet sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits, making us a great option for busy owners who need dependable daytime help. Niamh, my wife, supports early mornings, evenings, and weekends, so your pet benefits from extra flexibility and care. We both grew up with cats and dogs and are comfortable with a wide range of personalities and energy levels. We have owned several cats, and we also have experience with larger active dogs, including a German Shepherd Collie mix. Our focus is keeping your pet comfortable by following their normal routine as closely as possible. That means feeding schedules, walks, playtime, exercise, litter or bathroom breaks, and calm companionship while you’re away. We’re especially good with pets who need patience, consistency, or a gentle approach. You can expect reliable communication, photo updates, and attentive care. Whether you need weekday walks, vacation pet sitting, or drop-in visits, we aim to make things easy for you and stress-free for your pet. Ivan is the primary sitter and has flexible weekday availability. Niamh is available early mornings, evenings, and weekends, giving us extra flexibility for before-work, after-work, and weekend care. We plan around each pet’s routine to provide dependable, consistent care and timely visits. We know many pets feel safest in their own home, so we focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible while you’re away. We carefully follow feeding, walk, and medication instructions, while giving them attention, exercise, and companionship based on their personality. We respect your home, keep things tidy, and make sure everything is secure after each visit.
“This is our third time hiring Angela for drop-ins with our senior cat. She is very attentive with him and always gives us notes and photos on her daily visits. We are always able to reach her for anything and really trust her with our boy! Thanks again Angela!”

“Amazing communication, fast response and always send us pictures and videos after every visit. And she helped water our plants too! It’s nice coming home to a happy and healthy cat.”

“It was our 1st time having lily as our cat sitter and she was great. She took the time to stop by before we left to meet with our cat, which was really appreciated. She updated great photos while she was visiting and we felt confident she was taking good care of our furry baby. We will definitely hire her again.”

“Alice went above and beyond to make my first Rover experience a great one. She was patient, very kind, and amazing to our kitten! I will definitely be booking her again in the near future.”

“We have a reactive shepherd and couldn’t offer a meet and greet because of time constraints. Farbod handled the situation calmly and safely and got Loki out for a walk! Thanks :)”

Crystal is very experienced with both dogs and cats and it was really apparent in how they showed up for my cat honeysmacks! Crystal went above and beyond to make sure honeysmacks was comfortable throughout my trip, even ensuring to communicate with other cat-sitters about where to find the litter I forgot to keep it out and dropping by on her dog walks to ensure that the portable AC was kept at a certain temperature. Crystal also helped expend honeysmacks' 2-year old bengal energy levels and seeing how relaxed honeysmacks was in the videos sent over really helped me relax on my trip :)

Dai was absolutely wonderful with our cat! She sent detailed updates all weekend — thoughtful letters about how they spent their time together, plus so many adorable photos. It was clear she genuinely connected with our cat and gave her real love and attention, not just a quick check-in. Our cat was visibly happy and relaxed when we got home, and that peace of mind is priceless. Couldn’t recommend Dai more highly — five stars! 🐱

Akane watched my 3 cats for 5 days, dropping in twice a day while my husband and I were travelling. Our cats can be sneaky and a little tricky with their food habits, and Akane did her best to follow all the instructions for how to feed each cat and documented the time during every visit, which I really appreciated! Any time there were some hiccups (food being stolen, tiny bit of throw up) Akane was direct and clear about the events that transpired and I really appreciated the honest insight! Two of my cats were watched over by Akane in previous years, and during the meet & greet at my apartment prior to leaving for my trip, both cats seemed to remember her and were comfortable right away. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to book with Akane - she is kind, responsible, and great with pets ❤️

We couldn't be happier with Lily! This is the second time sha has been taking care of our cat, and from the very first visit it was clear she genuinely cared about our cat's wellbeing. The photos and updates she sent were fun and showed real engagement — not just a quick check-in, but actual quality time spent together. Communication was excellent throughout, and when an unexpected situation came up, she handled it great, communicated clearly every step of the way, and followed our instructions to the letter. We felt totally at ease leaving our old lady in her hands, and we'll absolutely be booking her again. Highly recommend!

Susan is amazing! She has become like family for my kitten Luna while she’s growing up. She takes the cutest check in photos of Luna so I know she’s being well taken care of when I’m away at work. She is Luna’s Auntie Susan now and she is very happy and excited when she gets visits from her. Susan always goes the extra mile and gives the best care. I highly recommend her to everyone!

Rachel came in and provided gentle, patient care to my cat who was very unsettled due to a lot of big changes over the preceding month. Even though Mayday hid during Rachel's visits, I still got updates about the small victories (eye contact, napping in front of her, interest in toys), and Rachel knew exactly how to behave with her, by just sitting with her, offering treats and toys, and slow blinking. From both the updates, photos, and how clean all of Mayday's things were when I returned home, I get the sense that Rachel is super detail-oriented. At no point during my time away was I concerned that Mayday wasn't receiving the best care possible, and she was the same goofy and loving little menace when I returned home. I'll absolutely look for Rachel again in the future.

On our initial meeting Stephanie was calm, personable, warm and professional. She immediately hit it off with Sunny, and he felt comfortable to go out walking with her right away. I definitely would schedule Stephanie again to walk and take care of my guy Sunny. 🐾❤️

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Vancouver choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
