Hi! I'm Xiaoyu. I have about 10 years of experience caring for both dogs and cats. Since my own pets are currently living with my parents, I really miss having animals around the house. I also volunteered at an animal shelter in China and have dog+house-sitting experience in Ottawa. I know how much you can miss and worry about your pet when you’re away—I feel exactly the same about mine. I’d love to care for yours, keep to their usual routine, and send you lots of photos and updates along the way.

Xiaoyu is very kind, communicative, and punctual. My senior dog, Lenny, loves his midday walks with him around the neighborhood. I especially appreciate all the photo updates Xiaoyu sends, as well as how flexible and accommodating he has been with last-minute schedule changes. He is very conscientious and attentive to Lenny’s individual needs. During our meet-and-greet, he took notes to make sure he understood Lenny’s routine and preferences. He also makes sure Lenny gets a good mix of on-leash walks and off-leash time at the dog park. It’s clear that Xiaoyu genuinely cares about providing thoughtful, attentive care for each animal he looks after. I really appreciate the care and attention he’s given to Lenny.
Xiaoyu was an excellent pet sitter for our dog. He treated him with such love and care, and was very consistent with walks and feeding. He was also very responsive with messages and sent us lots of fun and fabulous update photos. We will definitely use him again!

Schedule
I’m home full-time, so I have lots of time to spend with your pet throughout the day. For dogs, I can provide 3–4 walks or potty breaks, along with playtime in dog parks or our fully fenced yard. For cats, I’m happy to follow their usual feeding and play routine—or simply give them space when they want it. I only board one pet at a time, so your pet will get plenty of individual attention.

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a ground-floor 1B1B apartment with a fully fenced yard, so your dog can safely run around and play on the grass. Dogs are allowed in the living room, bedroom, bathroom (if a shower is needed). They are also allowed on the couch and chairs. Cats are allowed anywhere in the unit, and on any furniture, including the bed.
A typical day
We’ll take relaxed walks around the neighbourhood, with plenty of time to sniff and explore. There are 2 dog parks nearby, so we can enjoy some off-leash playtime there, but if your dogs seem nervous, we’ll skip the off-leash area and go for a longer walk instead. At home, we can play with balls and favourite toys, spend time in the fenced yard, and enjoy lots of pets and cuddles. For cats, I’ll follow their usual routine, play with their favourite toys, and give them attention or space depending on what they prefer.

- Please let me know about any special needs your pet may have, such as allergies, medications, or anything that helps them feel safe and comfortable. To help them settle in, please bring their own food and water bowls, enough food and treats for their stay, and a favourite toy or comfort item. Their usual bed or blanket is also very welcome if possible.
