About: I work from home and go for frequent walks with my dog. Our place backs onto a green space so we are out a lot. I work from home and set aside time each morning, afternoon and evening for walks, and can be available if they need to go out. We have a large fenced yard with space to run and play. I always make sure there is plenty of fresh water available, and of course give lots of love and pets.

About: I have owned and cared for animals my entire life. I have owned my own dogs for the last 17 years. My dogs have always been family members to me and are included in everything I do. I have experience administering medications, supplements and dealing with senior pooches in the past. I have cared for many family, friends and acquaintances pets over the years, including multiple at one time. I currently am at home and available 7 days per week. My husband works full time and is off on weekends. I love to go on daily walks (often multiple) and am always up for weekend adventures at the lake, beach or in the forest with whatever furry friends I have tagging along. I have a fully fenced 1 acre property located in the Alberni Valley, about 15 minutes drive from town. I love walking the many nature trails in our area with my dog. Aside from a daily walk or two, weather dependant, you will typically find us outside on the property, gardening or just relaxing. I understand the importance of meeting the specific needs of certain dog breeds, both physical and mental, as I have a Border Collie who requires a fair amount of stimulation (if ya know, ya know). My home is spacious and well set up for doggies to enjoy both outside and indoors. No couch is off limits for the pups! My girl Millie is very well socialized and loves meeting new doggies of all shapes and sizes. Her many doggie friends will tell you she is very calm and well mannered. I do have free range chickens on our property, but haven’t had any issues with proper introduction and supervision, even with dogs who have never been around them before. I would care for your pup as if it were my own and ensure they had nothing but the best time during their stay! They may not even want to leave!

About: Just like my description implies, I have a bit of a mama-bear heart :) What does this mean here? Well, I just love to love and I've been told I've got that feminine nurturing thing going on: my sensitivity is my strength! My natural tendency is honestly just to treat all animals like my own when they're in my care and that includes the connection and warm sensitivity to individual needs that comes with mothering. It's always kind of been like this for me but entering motherhood with my own little one radically opened my heart to it further and I am so excited to pursue this natural next-step in my professional life. By choosing me to care for your babies in whatever capacity, you're essentially choosing another family member. I HAVE had + loved animals my whole life and I look forward to extending this professionally. As a teenager, I worked in a kennel for a few months providing care to a whole variety of different dogs + cats and for me it was like Christmas! Additionally I have pet-sat for a couple of friends over the years, including one whom had me playing landlord for the apartment building she owned while I stayed in her home unit caring for her two puppy dogs during her vacation - and today I enjoy taking my father's black lab out to the trails when I am able to :) Straight-up: I don't yet have a lot of professional pet care experience, and I do not yet have much experience with senior or other high/special needs pets... (The years of pet care experience in my profile is reflective moreso of my personal pets, as I believe that this is valid and there is no option to differentiate!) BUT, what I DO have is an absolute willingness to learn and work with you and be truly honest about my capacity! What I lack in experience (for now), I do absolutely make up for in care + integrity - you know what they say: "you can teach skills, but character is more difficult"! Currently my schedule is open + flexible from 9:30-4pm Monday-Friday, as I am just starting to step out into the working world after becoming a mama. My little one is now in daycare most of the time (I try to avoid having her in there full-time but it is available) and though I have several entrepreneurial or contract-based pursuits, they are all flexible - so as of yet, I am able to adjust my schedule based on pet needs! I am open to considering requests outside of daycare hours of 9:30-4pm Monday-Friday but it may likely need to include the presence of my toddler - though she loves animals, and I'm happy to chat with you further on this! So I will ask that all new clients + their furry friends have a brief meet-up with me first to answer some questions and confirm that we are indeed a good fit before moving forward with care. Beyond that, once we are all good to go, this truly depends upon your request :) I am also happy to send you updates of your pet from our time together! -During drop-ins, I can come in for food/watering within up to an hour-long visit that can include snuggles, pets & plays - I am happy to be sensitive to their needs for attention and/or space. -During walks, I would arrive at your home to take your pupper out for up to a solid 30-40 minute walk. This would happen on either the street or a trail - depending upon preference/distance/weather - with the appropriate care equipment/considerations in place (i.e. leash, instructions for training and interaction with others along our journey, muzzle if truly needed/desired). I'm even open to dog parks if comfort allows on all sides. *Please note that at this time the only service I am available to offer beyond walks are drop-ins at your home, and also that anything outside the hours of 9:30-4pm Monday-Friday may need to include my toddler - though she loves animals! Everything we do is absolutely subject to feeling it out and keeping open communication: is something not working? Do we need to adjust something? This is a relationship, ultimately, and it is flexible :)

About: I have been the sole caretaker of a vast variety of pets for nearly my entire life and this has included everything from dogs of all sizes, cats of all breeds, small animals, fish, birds, reptiles, farm animals, and more! To say I am a pet person would be an understatement! They truly bring me joy like nothing else and in turn I love to make sure they are happy and well cared for! I have also had the opportunity to volunteer at numerous international animal aid organizations, such as animal rescue in the Philippines or shelters in Mexico (including one in which one of my previous cats was then adopted from!). I have truly never had a bad experience with any type of animal and feel that my greatest strength is how well they respond to and connect with me! I am a recently graduated student working full-time with the Coast Guard on a flexible rotating work from home basis so I have lots of availability to fit your needs! I am in the process of saving money to return to school for my masters degree! I enjoy a very active and outdoors lifestyle while also loving to cuddle up on the couch with a book and some cats! I am able to be entirely flexible depending on your individual needs! I will be respectful of your home and your environment while also providing the best care for your pets.

Rhaya did a fantastic job looking after my little girl Lucy while I was away for a week. She was punctual on her visits and followed my instructions to the letter with feeding times, fresh water changes and litter box cleaning. She played with Lucy and kept her company twice a day which I was so grateful for. Rhaya went out of her way to ensure Lucy was safe, healthy and entertained so as to not feel lonely. She was quick to send photos and updates to ease my mind and always briefed me daily on how she was doing ie.feeding, bathroom and her overall moods. I am very pleased with Rhaya, she was professional and very caring. I would recommend Rhaya to anyone looking for a sitter for their family member while away, they would be in good hands.

About: I have had a dog my entire life, most recently my boy Tas who I had for 11 great years. I love animals and will treat them with care and respect. I work a set schedule and look after pets on my days off. I have my own space with no other animals. They will be alone for minimal time in my care. I have a fenced yard, one small dog lives upstairs, who is very friendly. We have a forested area with trails where I will walk your pup.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 193 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Port Alberni. About 81% of Port Alberni sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Port Alberni stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Port Alberni choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
