“My wife and I were facing a health emergency and needed a dog sitter on short notice. Paula was very accommodating in helping us make a booking for our dog Auggie through Rover.com. Paula's professionalism allowed me to attend to my wife's medical issue without any additional worries about Auggie, who is like another family member to us. When I dropped off Auggie, Paula gave me a tour of the large, fenced-in backyard where Auggie could roam without fear of escaping. Despite the sudden change in her surroundings, Auggie appeared quite happy and contented when I picked her up after the three-day visit. I would not hesitate to book Paula again if we need a Dog Sitter in the future.”

“Natalia and her husband were fantastic hosts and saved us last minute when one of our doggy sit plans fell through. We scrambled at 6 am finding someone to sit for the day, and Natalia responded immediately. Natalia was flexible on pickup and drop off times, and I could tell Cyrus had a great time. They even sent photos of going on a walk with Cyrus! Highly recommend, if you are in the Parksville area and need a reliable and safe sitter, Natalia is a fantastic option! Thank you so much! Their property is perfect for dogs, allowing them a safe space to explore the outdoors, as well as a lovely dog friendly home (which they puppy proofed for Luna!). They have two border collies that welcomed Luna into their pack. Luna came back to us very happy and well behaved. Lisa and David took the time to reinforce the training we were already working on with her. We will definitely use Lisa and David again and highly recommend them!”

“Lorena and Michael took fantastic care of my husky, Nova! She’s a rescue and has some quirks, but they were great with all her needs and very communicative while we were away. Their dog Leia was very sweet and receptive to Nova’s boundaries, and Michael was very knowledgeable with dog cues and behaviour which gave me great confidence in leaving my pup with them. I would leave Nova with them again in a heartbeat! Thanks again.”

“Valeria is amazing! Finally I found a good petsitter, When I went to pick up Kali she didn't want to come with me haha. The best thing about it is that she speaks Spanish so Kali could feel at home, I will definitely use her again and I recommend her. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻”

“Kelly and Ian were the ideal care takers for our dog while we were on holidays! They suggested a meet and greet walk before hand so that they (including their dog Luca) and our dog could meet and play in a neutral area before dropping Trouble off at their home. Kelly sent us daily updates including photos and videos of how Trouble was doing (which she had settled in minutes of us dropping her off!) They went on multiple hikes/adventures and ensured that she got plenty of exercise and love. The two pups (our dog and theirs) got along so well we were worried Trouble wouldn’t want to leave lol! Fantastic first Rover experience, we would highly recommend Kelly and Ian to anyone who is in need of care for their dog! We look forward to using them again in the future!”

About: I have had cats in my life for many years. My cat, Brodie still in the family aged 16 years and doing great! I just recently cared for 2 lovely cats that needed separate care in one home. I can offer great references.
“Dorothy is true gem. She took care of my cat (and for awhile, my dog) during a very chaotic and stressful time for me. She was very kind, and flexible during this unpredictable period. She sent pics of my pets to me everyday, which was so comforting. (She even found a toy that my cat, who doesn't "do" toys, seemed to enjoy.) Superlative pet care. Thank you Dorothy. I have no hesitation in recommending you in the highest terms.”

“Crysta is such an amazing sitter! She welcome my last-minute request and was super communicative and accommodating. She took such great care of my pup Reggie and was extra thoughtful and responsible with caring for animals through a heatwave. She provides a calm, loving, cozy environment, and enough enrichment that had Reggie super happy and tired at the end of the day. I don’t think he wanted to leave! I wholeheartedly recommend Crysta and am so grateful to have found her. She’s also just a really cool person!”

She was communicative throughout the day and sent us lots of photos too, which was so nice. We will 100% leave her with Valeria again and already have plans to do so.”

“Keah was awesome! My large puppy Bear had his first long full day away from me, and it went great! He came home happy and tired 😊 Keah was super accommodating when our arrival time ended up being substantially later than planned. She is super friendly and was very understanding and it made our late arrival stress-free. Thanks for taking such good care of my two boys 💚”

“The best day ever at the country spa with Leanne and Wayne. What a lucky dog to have these two kind and capable people take excellent care of our boy, Tucker. Leanne provided numerous pictures throughout the day highlighting the day’s activities; forest walks, frisbee and ball play, nap time and dinner. We are so impressed with the attention and patience shown toward Tucker and we feel relieved and confident that Tucker will enjoy his next longer stay. Excellent experience and highly recommend.”

About: Kelly grew up in a household who’s mom’s part time job was a dog sitter/ boarder so 10 years of living at home in my adulthood taught me a lot! I’ve taken care of most breeds of dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them, meeting their needs and training if needed. My uncle and grandfather are also both veterinarians so volunteering at their clinic growing up taught me a lot and is nice to have them as an emergency contact for any questions. Ian grew up in a household of dogs his whole life, having breeds including Tibetan terrier, labs and retrievers. In adolescence he started a dog walking part time job with his friends and loves being around animals. Kelly is a casual employee as a nurse so is able to schedule her shifts herself. Ian is an ecologist and is often able to coordinate working from home - so there will always be someone home when we are taking care of your doggo. We view animals as part of the family and that’s how we treat them. We now live in Cumberland and love taking care of your dogs whenever we can. We live on a 0.3acre greatly fenced property and love having extra friends around to take on adventures or play fetch and be cozy at home. Kelly is a registered nurse in a casual position and is able to create her own schedule around sitting dogs/ has lots of free time. Ian works from home so is always around to be with your dog/ take breaks to go on walks! We would treat your home just as we would ours. We are both mature professionals currently living in a pet-friendly apartment in a safe neighbourhood.
“Leaving my puppy with Jaqueline was an absolute peace of mind. She was very kind and took care of my puppy in his last days of wearing the cone after his neutering surgery. My puppy loved staying with Jaqueline!”

“While traveling by boat, we were so happy to find a safe and fun place for our Poppi to visit while we were at the amazing Tigh-Na-Mara Spa for a few hours. Alexia had a perfect large yard and several other dogs that loved playing with our Poppi. When we picked her up she was happy and obviously had played all day. It was like having a play date for her.”

“Heather is awesome! She arrived right on time, my dog was happy to leave with her (which isn't always the case with a stranger) and met me back at my place early, at my request, when I messaged her saying I had returned early. She was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to all my messages. I will definitely be utilizing her services again.”

“Carolyn is wonderful. Our dog, Roger, adores her - he always comes home happy, tired and clearly well cared for. She takes him on great off leash adventures and her communication is excellent. I always look forward to her updates and photos. We feel very lucky to have her, and Roger does too!”

About: What truly sets me apart from other sitters is my deeply competent and responsible approach, combined with an intuitive understanding of what each pet needs to feel safe, happy, and loved. I'm not just checking boxes—I'm genuinely helpful, anticipating little things like adjusting routines for anxious pups or providing extra comfort for older dogs. Whether it's playful energy for young pets or gentle, patient care for seniors, I adapt seamlessly to make every stay stress-free and enjoyable. Pets (and their owners!) can count on me for reliable, heartfelt care every time. Cheers. Rees Pet care fits beautifully and naturally into my everyday routine! As an early riser who works part-time from home, I have a flexible schedule that revolves around providing consistent, attentive care for the pets I watch. My days typically start bright and early with a morning walk or play session to get everyone energized—I'm fit and love being active, so long trail walks or playtime in the yard are a highlight for me (and the pups!). Throughout the day, I’m mostly a homebody, so I'm almost always here to keep an eye on things, offer midday potty breaks, meals, cuddles, or quiet downtime as needed. Afternoons often include another walk or outing, especially since I enjoy getting out for fresh air and exercise. Evenings are for winding down with relaxed hangouts, final potty breaks, and making sure everyone feels settled and happy. Because my routine is calm, consistent, and home-centered, pets in my care get near-constant companionship and a stable schedule that helps them feel secure and loved. It's truly a joy how seamlessly they become part of my day! I offer boarding in my peaceful home on a quiet 2-acre property in a low-traffic area—perfect for pets who thrive in a calm, safe, and private environment. There's plenty of secure space to play and relax, and beautiful trails are just around the corner for enriching walks and adventures. Every pet gets my full attention with a customized routine that includes regular exercise, playtime, meals on schedule, and lots of affection to keep them feeling happy and secure. I'm also happy to provide house-sitting at your home, where I keep things super clean, tidy, and low-maintenance while giving your pet the comfort of their familiar surroundings. Whether it's overnight stays or daily visits, I adapt easily to your pet's needs and your household rules. Plus, I offer flexible dog walking anytime, any place—morning energy burns, midday breaks, or evening strolls to fit your schedule perfectly. No matter the service, pets in my care always get competent, responsible, and intuitive attention with plenty of love along the way!

About: I grew up on a farm with multiple house pets & got my first dog at 15. I hike with my dogs every weekend with long walks during the week. I got into pet sitting after I dog sat for friends and family for years. I have experienced with multiple different behavioural and medical needs (pets in diapers, needles for diabetes, heart medications, reactive large breeds, etc) & a wide range of experience caring for different types of animals including cats, dogs, ferrets, sugar gliders, farm animals, etc. Growing up on a farm, I have experience caring for larger animals as well. I treat each animal like my own and can cater to the needs of each individual pet. I work as a homeless outreach worker for CMHA. My husband is a car salesman at Van isle FORD. I like to let my pets out at least every 2 hours, but we also spend lots of time outside. I spend most my time outside of work with my dogs, going on hikes, walks, swims or participating in one of my favourite sports. I have a large 2 story home so there’s lots of room for animals if they are inside. If they aren’t, that’s okay too. I live on 3/4 of an acre and have a fully fenced yard with two separate spaces if there’s multiple pets. I have 2 amazing dogs at home - one who loves to have some company, and although the other one rules the house, she steers clear of other pets. My cat is basically a dog, he’s the best.
“Dorothy was very dependable and friendly. Winnie enjoyed her day at Dorothy’s home. Winnie went on a 1 hour walk and felt very comfortable with Dorothy. I will rebook for sure!!”
