“Susan was great with my fur baby. I was in and out of service a good portion of the weekend, but every now and then I would get updates on how my Pooch was doing with photos. In addition, she had the service of pickup and drop off, which was extremely helpful for me as I was tied up helping with the wedding. Previously, my only option had been taking Sitka to a boarding kennel. Every time it would be about a week of her coming down from all the stress and anxiety of being around all the barking misbehaved dogs. Typically would come back with some kind of stomach indigestion. The important thing, is that she needs medication twice a day, and with the boarding kennel I really wondered how consistent the medication administration was. Over the years, I’ve cared for several rescues from South Korean dog meat farms and high-kill shelters, as well as local rescues here on the island. With that experience, I have a pretty good sense for dogs with all different kinds of background/behaviors; some of my rescue dogs had severe trauma from where they came from, I love when we open up in time and they feel safe with me. Yard is not currently fenced but that project will be completed in 2026. So leash walks are provided. Home backs onto a green space so there are good opportunities for walks. “Wow, service way beyond what was expected. Our 1 year old Golden Retriever, Murphy, has high separation anxiety. They had that managed completely. The only problem was as we were about to leave our truck would not start! While hubby diagnosed the problem Andrea toured us through their wildflower meadow, and offered us hospitality. David had a few tools to add to what we had and my husband was able to remove the starter motor. David then drove us to Qualicum to get a new starter and hubby installed it in their driveway. Once the truck was mobile we were able to have a few ours without our pup. Murphy was exhausted in a happy way when we picked him up. Andrea and David generously gave of their time in what could have been a real vacation wrecking situation. Should we want another playdate with the grandchildren up in their area, we will definitely ask them again to look after Murphy.”

About: Kelly grew up in a household who’s mom’s part time job was a dog sitter/ boarder so 10 years of living at home in my adulthood taught me a lot! I’ve taken care of most breeds of dogs and have lots of experience taking care of them, meeting their needs and training if needed. I often plan day trips to provide additional walking experiences. I also have 2 Siamese cats in the home. I work part-time from home 2 days a week, so the rest of the week lets me available to any animals that are staying here. Currently, with the yard not being fenced, leash walks will be provided. Familiar with and capable of providing any required medications if applicable. Can provide more frequent meal breaks (my Boxer has 3 meal breaks to help maintain weight).

About: I grew up on a farm with multiple house pets & got my first dog at 15. I hike with my dogs every weekend with long walks during the week. I got into pet sitting after I dog sat for friends and family for years. I have experienced with multiple different behavioural and medical needs (pets in diapers, needles for diabetes, heart medications, reactive large breeds, etc) & a wide range of experience caring for different types of animals including cats, dogs, ferrets, sugar gliders, farm animals, etc. Growing up on a farm, I have experience caring for larger animals as well. I treat each animal like my own and can cater to the needs of each individual pet. I work as a homeless outreach worker for CMHA. My husband is a car salesman at Van isle FORD. I like to let my pets out at least every 2 hours, but we also spend lots of time outside. I spend most my time outside of work with my dogs, going on hikes, walks, swims or participating in one of my favourite sports. I have a large 2 story home so there’s lots of room for animals if they are inside. If they aren’t, that’s okay too. I live on 3/4 of an acre and have a fully fenced yard with two separate spaces if there’s multiple pets. I have 2 amazing dogs at home - one who loves to have some company, and although the other one rules the house, she steers clear of other pets. My cat is basically a dog, he’s the best.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I am gentle with pets and pets usually love hanging out with me . I am working full time and available on weekends or statutory holidays. I can also be available on Friday evenings if needed . . . I will follow pet owners instructions about the schedule of their pet. I will keep in mind the safety and sanitation of pet owners home

About: We've grown up in homes full of love and animals. With this we've learned much about animal care and would be honored if you entrusted your pets with us. I've recently had to take time off work for the foreseeable future and would love to fill my spare time with animals and adventure. All animals welcome.. We live in a large house near Departure Bay ferry terminal with a fenced back yard and many safe spaces. Our roommates cat Mr Moons mostly keeps to himself.

I had a 13 year old Miniature Schnauzer/Terrier for almost 10 years who has passed on December of 2021. He was my life. About: I have owned one dog and a few cats over the years. Currently, i have no pets as we had to put our dogs of 18 years down last year. I am comfortable with all breeds and sizes of dogs. I am available most days and am comfortable walking your dog in any weather condition. I am a reliable person who always follows through with her commitments and goes above and beyond. I also have a lot of experience with cats as I had them all of my life growing up. Please let me know if your dog has any special needs, dietary restrictions, etc. I look forward to working with your fur baby. I work from home so I am able to let dogs outside in our fenced dog run whenever needed if boarding with me. I can also come to your house to pick up for walks I have two fenced in dog runs on the property and a big side yard (unfenced). I am able to take your dog to a number of trails and parks. We also have a large unfinished basement where my office is located so I spend most of my time there during the day
