7. Alexia C.
“Alexia and her mom Shelley were absolutely amazing! My partner and I were visiting the island and wanted to do a whale watching trip. We knew we didn’t want to leave our dogs in the RV and decided to try to find someone to watch them. We thought it would be a long shot with such short notice and it being on a Sunday but began calling around. After reaching out to quite a few daycares in Nanaimo and Parksville and being told they were full I decided to try using Rover for the first time. I was super nervous but found Alexia and read the reviews and decided to message her. Alexia responded almost immediately and agreed to take both of our dogs for the following day. I asked Alexia a million questions and was worried about the heat wave and she answered everything with no issues and made me feel confident that the dogs would be in good hands. We dropped the dogs off the next day and were greeted by Shelley who was very kind. Shelley showed us where the dogs would be staying and we shared a few details with her as both our dogs had minor ailments at the time. After we left and were on the tour we received many pictures of our dogs from Alexia that were absolutely stunning and she provided us updates on their well being. We enjoyed our tour and weren’t worried at all. When we picked the dogs up you could tell they had a great time and despite the heat they didn’t seem too hot at all. Shelley even let us know that our one dog might have a bladder infection which helped confirm our suspicions we had as well. If we ever return to the island we would definitely reach out to Alexia again if we needed to have our dogs looked after.”
8. Andrea K.
“Wow, service way beyond what was expected. Our 1 year old Golden Retriever, Murphy, has high separation anxiety. They had that managed completely. The only problem was as we were about to leave our truck would not start! While hubby diagnosed the problem Andrea toured us through their wildflower meadow, and offered us hospitality. David had a few tools to add to what we had and my husband was able to remove the starter motor. David then drove us to Qualicum to get a new starter and hubby installed it in their driveway. Once the truck was mobile we were able to have a few ours without our pup. Murphy was exhausted in a happy way when we picked him up. Andrea and David generously gave of their time in what could have been a real vacation wrecking situation. Should we want another playdate with the grandchildren up in their area, we will definitely ask them again to look after Murphy.”
9. Lyndsey & James P.
“Lyndsey is an exceptional pet sitter and dog walker who is a massive animal lover. Her experience volunteering with animal rescues really shows in the care she provides. She has looked after our dogs on multiple occasions, and her reliability and attentiveness to their needs, including special medication requirements, have been outstanding. One of our dogs can be reactive to other dogs, and we don’t often trust sitters, but Lyndsey takes this seriously and follows our guidelines diligently. We always feel confident that our pets are in great hands with Lyndsey. Highly recommend!”
10. Jacqueline K.
“Leaving my puppy with Jaqueline was an absolute peace of mind. She was very kind and took care of my puppy in his last days of wearing the cone after his neutering surgery. My puppy loved staying with Jaqueline!”
11. Natalie B.
About: I’ve owned dogs my entire life and have a special connection with them. I know how to bathe, groom, walk, train and administer medicine. I am especially good with cranky and senior dogs:) Unfortunately, due to a medical ailment I am not currently able to work a full time job or go to uni so I’m highly available! I have 3 friendly, playful dogs that are used to having different dogs in the house. At your house, I’d love to learn your dogs routine to ensure they feel comfortable!
12. Katia H.
“Katia was amazing took on my puppy last minute and was so accommodating, honestly was so nervous as this was the first time my puppy was not supervised by me or family but Katia proved me wrong and I would highly recommend to anyone needing special care for their furry friends. Would rebook for sure and her address was so easy to find even in the dark at 0630 am :) Thankyou again Katia and I’m so glad Dixie had so much fun with Homer and Bruce 😌💜💜”
13. Keah S.
“Keah does an amazing job with my lab. She treats him like it’s hers does many walks and activities with him. Her property is large enough for any sized dog as well. Half the time she watches him my dog doesn’t want to leave. I highly recommend her dog sitting services!”
14. Adam S.

15. Shel & Paola B.
“Our dog is a high energy Kelpie who just hates being alone. He loves all people and dogs and we can put him an environment where he can't socialize and run. Shel has a great farm property and his dog Lucy is a very friendly and well adjusted dog that can teach the young dogs a thing or two by her great example. Shel is very chill and likeable guy and all dogs instantly gravitate towards him. My dog did not want to come home with me at the end of his stay and I don't blame him as I would want to stay there as well.”
16. Crysta S.
About: I’ve owned a husky shepherd in the past and have been caring for and being around dogs since I was a kid. I love walking and running with dogs on local trails especially if their recall is good, but can also do leashed walks and park plays. I’ve fostered puppies in the past and also babysat senior dogs for friends. I work from home in Port Alberni and I have a fenced in yard. I’m able to provide great and thorough care during the work day and evenings. I often work from a cozy space in my garage that has big patio doors opening to the yard so pups can enjoy outside time while supervised. I like to take run or walk breaks during the day as well. I have a fenced yard which is great for dogs who visit or come to stay. I do have two cats so I am more keen to board and dog sit pups that are good with cats. I do have the ability to separate a dog from the cats for shorter stays.
17. Melisa D.
“Melisa did a wonderful job looking after Sadie while I was out of town! Sadie still has all of her puppy energy and can be quite a handful but Melisa took her for lots of walks and adventures to keep her busy. I'm so happy to have found someone that I can trust and will certainly be using her again. Thanks Melisa!”
18. Abby G.
“Abby is amazing with all animals, especially dogs. She used to watch my duck toller mix on weekends when I was away and half the time he didn’t want to come back home because he had so much fun. We unfortunately moved away but would have loved to have her continue watching Cu.”
19. Reanna H.
“Hello Reanna is a wonderful dog owner and sitter She’s got lots of knowledge and is calm and assertive. My puppy is very active and need the training she’s helped me with keeping me positive I’ll be a great dog owner and trainer too.”
20. Brodie C.
About: I've taken care of cats and dogs since I was a little kid and always had some in my house. I'm incredibly responsible and organized and I love pets. I'm working full time during the week so available full time for boarding on weekends and after 5pm on weekdays. If anything outside of these hours is necessary I will try my best to accommodate and be clear about any limitations. I have a large partially fenced (soon to be fully fenced) front and back yard with a cute rancher home. There are awesome Forest trails at the end of my road which are great for dog walks.
