“Ollie was very well taken care of by Lindsey and her family. The kids are so sweet and told us that they didn’t want him to leave. Lindsey was very welcoming and had Ollie meet their friendly two dogs before we left. It’s good to be able to leave and not have to worry! Lindsey was very helpful with arrangements to drop him off earlier. We will book him with Lindsey again.”

“Excellent with our dogs, and very accommodating with our schedule. They seem to enjoy their stay and are well loved and cared for which is all a dog owner needs. Thanks again.”
“As always, Lauren is amazing with Milanesa. She is so happy staying with her and her family. Milanesa has so much fun and feels very loved every time she stays with Lauren. We will definitely repeat next time.”

“Rainbow stayed with Amy and her family for a week. We can tell rainbow enjoyed her stay. Would recommend. Also the daily pictures were a nice touch. Will definitely e re booking in the near future.”

“Marci is fabulous with my dogs. Completely spoiled. I got pictures and videos of them and they had a great time. Highly recommend her for you dog sitter. We will definitely use her again.”

“Maggie was with Terry for a week and I usually worry because she is anxious around new people and being left but what a time she had! She seemed like she didn’t want to come home when I went to pick her up. She had lots of walks and off leash park time and playing in the yard; lots of cuddle time it seems. She even took to Jim, Terry’s husband right away- not one bark. It was an awesome experience for both of us. Thank you Terry for taking such great care of our Maggie ❤️ we’ll be back soon!”

“This was Leroy's first stay with Karin and her family. I am really impressed how warm and welcoming they were to both Leroy and I, and what good care they took of him. Karin sent messages and photos every day and he clearly enjoyed his stay. I highly recommend Karin.”

About: I have had a dog or taken care of dogs since I was a little girl. Family, neighbours and friends have all relied on me to help take care of their pets for many years. I am a huge animal lover and a health care worker and will always provide the best and safest care for your pup. Recently I have fostered some dogs through a local rescue and helped them find their new home. I have learned alot about behaviours and training with these pups. We love to play in the yard or go for walks, and have lots of snuggles on the couch :) I currently work part time so have lots of time available to spend with your dog! My flexible schedule allows me to board your pet overnight any day of the week, or drop in for visits/walks. I have a fenced back yard and two small dogs to keep your fur baby company! Your dog is welcome to treat our home as their own and I will give them lots of love and be devoted to their happiness and well being while you are away.
“Jessica was able to watch Fat Boi on short notice. She was amazing for keeping us posted while we traveled and his being so well taken care of made the trip less stressful. Would highly recommend.”

“You can tell right away when you meet Linda that she loves dogs. Her set up is amazing with separate roomy cages for each dog that has enough space for a crate and eating area. Seconds after getting home and saying hello to everyone Ipa went straight to her fav sleeping spot and has not moved. So glad we connected with this fantastic service.”

“Danielle was a lifesaver taking in my newly adopted Nellie when family plans unexpectedly changed over the holidays. Although Nellie is nervous around most people at first, she warmed right up to Danielle and her pal Gibuu and settled in nicely for the few days we were gone. I appreciated Danielle’s experience and commitment to Nellie’s care and even sent me updates of their adventures! I would definitely recommend Danielle!”

“My dog Odis was well taken care of. When we came back after 2 weeks he was very happy and healthy. He became part of their family and fit in very well. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him.”

“Im so happy we found Kelly and Nat! I’m very picky with who I leave my high energy and anxious dog with but after a meet and greet I felt very comfortable leaving Kaiya with them. Very knowledgeable, calm and responsible. Super easy to communicate with, very fast to respond and lots of updates while Kaiya was with them. We would highly recommend them and will be using them again. Thank you so so much!!”

“Marcel with his wife, have been amazing in caring for Joey. I get regular updates and photos that show Joey enjoying the ‘good life’ in their home. I was impressed with their meticulously cared for home complete with a sun shaded dog run. I completely trust their knowledge and experience leaving Joey in their care.”

“Yuet continues to be amazing every time she sits for me. I think the highest praise I can provide is the fact that my dog Odin gets super excited when he realizes he is going to stay with Yuet.”

“Amy is a wonderful dog sitter, and just a kind person overall. She took such good care of our young Nero, his first long stretch away from home. She was patient and shared pictures with us every day, giving us huge piece of mind. She was also honest- that he was in high need of attention, maybe more than we realized, which is helpful to know as we continue our training journey. I highly recommend Amy. It is truly evident she loves dogs and will spend quality time with them in nature and at home. I’m sorry he stole her cheese!”

“Charlie clearly enjoyed his time with Kristine as he came home happy and relaxed. She was easy to communicate with, sent regular updates and photos, and was flexible around my unconfirmed pick up time due to ferry issues. I highly recommend Kristine if you live in the Cowichan Valley!”

“Tyler is an extremely attentive and dedicated boarder. It was evident the effort he went to to ensure our dog was comfortable, loved, and well cared for. We felt so lucky to have him care for our senior dog!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
