“Truffle had such a wonderful experience and was so well cared for! He came back in such a good mood and definitely picked up some wisdom from the two elderly doggos! Thank you Amy and Ellie! :)”

“Shawneen is wonderful. She is our go-to sitter. She always sends updates to ensure us our pups are in good hands and is very flexible with drop off and pick up times. Thank you Shawneen!!”

“Amazing! This was my first time leaving Lucca with a pet sitter and so I was fairly nervous. Haley and Mark were amazing. Lucca needs at least 3 or so good walks/runs each week to be at his best and Haley and Mark delivered! I received regular updates with pictures and Lucca looked so happy. I also worried that Lucca could come home with some undesirable new behaviour but Haley and Mark were respectful of the rules we have for him and Lucca came back to us just as we left him. Haley and Mark are great. I highly recommend them and I will certainly consider them.firat if I need a dog sitter again.”

“Marcy was wonderful with my pups. They stayed with her for one night and 2 full days. She kept me updated and sent lots of pictures of their visit. She is a great sitter, fantastic with dogs. I am so happy to have her watch my pups.”
“As always, Lauren is amazing with Milanesa. She is so happy staying with her and her family. Milanesa has so much fun and feels very loved every time she stays with Lauren. We will definitely repeat next time.”

“My boys had their first full day with Kelly & Natalie today. Natalie gave them a really nice introduction to their home and then was great about updating me throughout the day with pictures to let me know that they were doing well. I felt immediately comfortable with Natalie and it’s easy to see that my dogs do as well. I’m feeling really good about leaving them for a longer period of time when we go traveling!”

“Jessica was able to watch Fat Boi on short notice. She was amazing for keeping us posted while we traveled and his being so well taken care of made the trip less stressful. Would highly recommend.”

About: I have had a dog or taken care of dogs since I was a little girl. Family, neighbours and friends have all relied on me to help take care of their pets for many years. I am a huge animal lover and a health care worker and will always provide the best and safest care for your pup. Recently I have fostered some dogs through a local rescue and helped them find their new home. I have learned alot about behaviours and training with these pups. We love to play in the yard or go for walks, and have lots of snuggles on the couch :) I currently work part time so have lots of time available to spend with your dog! My flexible schedule allows me to board your pet overnight any day of the week, or drop in for visits/walks. I have a fenced back yard and two small dogs to keep your fur baby company! Your dog is welcome to treat our home as their own and I will give them lots of love and be devoted to their happiness and well being while you are away.
“Maggie was with Terry for a week and I usually worry because she is anxious around new people and being left but what a time she had! She seemed like she didn’t want to come home when I went to pick her up. She had lots of walks and off leash park time and playing in the yard; lots of cuddle time it seems. She even took to Jim, Terry’s husband right away- not one bark. It was an awesome experience for both of us. Thank you Terry for taking such great care of our Maggie ❤️ we’ll be back soon!”

“I have a badly behaved cat and an old cat—and Yuet Pao took perfect care of both of them! I don’t think they wanted to come home. Both seem to have fallen in love with her. I am a very happy Cat Mom!”

“My dog Odis was well taken care of. When we came back after 2 weeks he was very happy and healthy. He became part of their family and fit in very well. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him.”

About: I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and energy levels, and I’m comfortable adapting care to each dog’s routine and needs. I focus on calm, consistent handling and clear expectations, which helps dogs settle quickly. I’m attentive on walks, respectful of training cues, and comfortable supporting puppies as well as senior dogs. Although I work full time, I have flexibility to work from home when needed, which allows me to build pet care smoothly into my daily routine. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
