“You couldn’t ask for a better person to care for your fur baby. Her drop in visits for our senior kitty have been priceless. Our kitty loves her which makes our time away stress free. I cannot recommend Anitra enough 😊”

“Moira was great with our elderly cat who required twice daily medication doses over a 10 day period. She is extremely reliable and very diligent. When she had a concern, she contacted us right away. She met our cat where she was at and was very respectful of her aloofness. Thanks Moira!”

About: Growing up surrounded by cats, dogs, bunnies, hamsters, hedgehogs, and even lizards, I’ve always been a true animal lover. Coming from a family that adores pets, it was only natural for me to welcome my own four-year-old husky pup into my life. Over the years, these experiences have deepened my understanding of different temperaments, needs, and capabilities—whether it’s administering medication, providing special care, or simply giving your furry (or scaly!) friend the love and attention they deserve. Rest assured, I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own. I'm a self employed artist new to the area and am in the process of building a client base. In the meantime I have lots of time to help you and your pets in the area. I have a small fenced in outdoor space, it's not a grass yard or very large but I like to take my dog to a dog park once every two days to run for an hour or two. If we don't go to the park we have two half hour to an hour walks through local trails. I have a 4 year old husky so I'm busy making sure he gets pooped out so your pup will have lots of company on our journeys if they stay with us. We do seperate rooms for feeding and have extra dog beds so no need to bring one. If you crate train you are welcome to bring your crate.
“Jimena Was awesome, she was excellent at keeping in touch and keeping us up to date with what was happening with the boys (our two cats) we never had to worry and felt really at ease and reassured. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again. Thank you so much Jimena!”

“I can't say enough about how professional and caring Shelby was during her visits with my two cats while I was away in England. It was such a relief knowing that someone who truly cares about animals was watching over my "little ones". Thank you Shelby.”

About: I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and energy levels, and I’m comfortable adapting care to each dog’s routine and needs. I focus on calm, consistent handling and clear expectations, which helps dogs settle quickly. I’m attentive on walks, respectful of training cues, and comfortable supporting puppies as well as senior dogs. I follow care instructions closely, keep environments safe and structured, and pay attention to behaviour or health changes. You can expect reliable communication, thoughtful updates, and care that prioritizes your dog’s wellbeing while you’re away. Although I work full time, I have flexibility to work from home when needed, which allows me to build pet care smoothly into my daily routine. When working in the office I commute to Nanaimo, which means I can provide home care to pets from Shawnigan Lake to Nanaimo. I focus on creating a safe, calm environment for pets, both in my home and in clients’ homes. I stick to routines, follow instructions carefully, and pay close attention to safety on walks and at home. I’m respectful of clients’ spaces and keep things clean and secure. You’ll receive regular updates so you can feel confident your pet is well cared for.
“Erin was a fantastic cat sitter! She was responsive and thoughtful and reliable. Erin followed our instructions and we felt confident our cat was taken care of. She was the first cat sitter our cat had met and Erin quickly built trust with her even though she was initially tentative. Erin went the extra mile and happily came to pickup/drop off house keys. I’d absolutely recommend Erin for your pet sitting needs.”

About: Hello! Are you going away and worried about your dog missing their walks, treats and belly rubs? I've got you covered! I offer calm, reliable, and loving dog care-whether that means daily walks or cozy house sitting and keeping your fur baby company. My focus is keeping your pets safe, happy and on their routines whilst treating them like family. I am happy to feed, provide fresh water and meds if required. Your furry friend/friends will receive lots of attention, snuggles and playtime. I have had dogs for most of my life and have experience with puppies, seniors, high watt energy and shy souls. I'm patient and take my time to establish trust and comfort with your animal(s). Think of me as your pet's stand in human while you're away. I'm always happy to keep their tails wagging, paws moving and your mind at ease. I currently have an on call position at my job, so I have a very open schedule allowing for stayovers, walks and drop ins. My schedule is listed open all week, I just need a little bit of notice in advance. When I am with your dog/dogs, cat etc I will feed and water them, and if required give basic medications. This will be adhered to in a timely manner as discussed for your pet's needs. If you have a yard and would prefer to have them be exercised there we can play ball, or if preferred your furries can be walked. When inside, that's you and your dog's space and will be treated with utmost respect.
“What an amazing experience! I was super nervous to leave Sitka for such a long trip. My worries were instantly dismissed when I met barb . Sitka can be a grouchy lil lady and barb handled it with such grace! I loved all the photos that got sent each day!”

“Kelly took wonderful care of our cats. She came over at least twice a day to feed, administer meds, provide scritches and love. We received daily updates and pictures/videos. I would definitely contact them again to look after the cats and would recommend them to anyone who wants their pets to be safe and comfortable while they are away.”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats as a child. As soon as I moved out to Canada, I got my own dog. My kids grew up with all kinds of animals in the house, the animals helped make my house a home. I’ve looked after friends and family pets most of my life and occasionally got paid for it. I took semi retirement early to enjoy life more and work less. I don’t consider caring for a pet a job. I work less the 30 hrs a week so lots of time to care for your pets in your home Lots of exercise, stick to the routine already set up by the owner. Lots of patience as the animal gets to know me and plenty of cuddles along the way. I have experience with seizures and epilepsy
“Anna Maria took great care of our little Teaks over Christmas. She was communicative, reliable and committed. I loved the pictures and notes provided after each visit. I would use Anna Maria again.”

About: I have volunteered at a vet clinic, as well as volunteering at an animal rescue group. Recently adopted my very own feral cats Max and Mickey. I do 3 overnight shifts a week (Tuesday-Thursday), so can spend all day with your animals making sure that they are having lots of walks, cuddles and play time. I only pet sit in clients home, due to apartment regulations as well as I have two cats. I always do a meet and greet with each client to discuss the pet’s needs and the best ways to take care of them.
“Dorothy is true gem. She took care of my cat (and for awhile, my dog) during a very chaotic and stressful time for me. She was very kind, and flexible during this unpredictable period. She sent pics of my pets to me everyday, which was so comforting. (She even found a toy that my cat, who doesn't "do" toys, seemed to enjoy.) Superlative pet care. Thank you Dorothy. I have no hesitation in recommending you in the highest terms.”
