About: I have cared for dogs and cats all my life and most recently, my bunny Joshua. My dog was diabetic for half of her life before she passed. I have experience administering medications and injecting insulin/needles. I am also a certified Veterinary Assistant. I am Currently working as a part-time veterinary assistant, I do not have a set schedule but only work 2-3 days a week(12-18 hours total). I offer loving and reliable drop-in or overnight visits to care for your pets in the comfort of their own home. During my visits, I'll provide fresh food and water, playtime, walks (if applicable), litter box cleaning, and plenty of cuddles! I'm passionate about ensuring your furry friends are happy and well-cared for while you're away.
About: I've always loved animals. I have a psych degree, and learning about positive re-enforcement and and training pets to do tricks is my favourite thing. I'm self employed so my schedule is flexible. I am also nomadic, so I'm happy to travel to a new place to care for a pet, and be somewhere new I take time to get to know each animal, their wants and needs, and most importantly, their personalities. “I contacted Dorothy months ahead about a drop-in type visit while my husband and I were to be visiting Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, from California for a family wedding. I scheduled with Dorothy to come to our travel trailer in the Living Forest Campground and RV Park for the Meet n Greet to not only meet us, but how to get in our trailer, all about the dogs and their needs. Dorthy listened to all that was needed and then contacted me by text during the scheduled evening when we were gone to let us know she’d been there and handled everything. There were three dogs to walk in two trailers and Dorothy fed each one and took them for walks to get their business done; what a lifesaver she was so that we could be gone for an extended time and all was handled. I recommend Dorothy without hesitation and will use her again if we ever come back to Nanaimo.”
