About: Hi, I’m Carley! I grew up on a farm up north, where caring for animals was part of everyday life. From pigs, chickens, rabbits, cows, horses, and sheep to dogs and cats, being surrounded by animals from a young age shaped my passion for animal care. I currently work at a veterinary clinic as a Veterinary Assistant, as well as at a local animal shelter as an Animal Care Attendant. In these roles, I care for a wide variety of animals including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits, snakes, hamsters, ferrets, rats, mice, and guinea pigs. Working in both veterinary and shelter environments has given me hands-on experience in animal handling, husbandry, monitoring health and behaviour, and providing compassionate care for animals of all ages and needs. I truly love all animals and always go the extra mile for the ones in my care. I currently work full time, but even though I can only stop in twice a day I will always go the extra mile to make sure they are happy, healthy and safe before I leave I am safe, respectful, reliable and trustworthy. I will always make sure your babies are cared for thoroughly and accordingly to their dietary, medical, or other necessary needs. I will always make sure they know they are loved and leave them with a sweet treat (if allowed) before I go. I can’t wait to meet your little fur family members. Talk soon!(:

About: Hello, My name is Tara! I am a customer service representative and dancer on the side, and I'm also a huge animal lover! I’ve always grown up surrounded by so many pets which makes me so compassionate towards every fur baby; I have a sense for dogs especially. I had a 13 year old Miniature Schnauzer/Terrier for almost 10 years who has passed on December of 2021. He was my life. Now I vicariously live through the fur babies I get to spend time with and spoil my favourite little frenchie niece! My favourite thing to do is go out and find new and exciting spots to hike on beautiful Vancouver Island. I've pet sat for a lot of family and friends when they’ve gone out of town. I couldn’t imagine my life not being surrounded by furry friends and I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family! I currently work part-time and I’m very active so I have lots of time to take out your dog to various hiking spots all over! I live in a safe neighbourhood and place right off Long Lake. I will make sure your fur baby is safe and feels loved and cared for.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Youbou choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
