About: I grew up around dogs, and I have cared for and trained them from land shark puppies through to old age. I believe in positive reinforcement training, and am starting on the path to becoming certified as a dog trainer. I currently have a beautiful two year old adopted mixed breed, whom I've been working with through anxiety, relocation stress, obedience, and all the basics as well. I'm one of those people that will meet a new dog who "doesn't like most people", and be cuddling with them on the ground within a minute or two :) Have a high-energy dog that doesn't get tired easily? Not a problem, I'm very active, and live by several trails/beaches - they'll be ready for a nap. Have a lower energy or older dog that just needs a good sniff/engagement walk? They'll come home content and relaxed. Just let me know their personality and needs and I'll make sure they're taken care of! I've looked after friends and families pets, and am comfortable with anything from young puppies to extra large breeds. I spend an enormous amount of time outside on walks, runs, and hikes, and enjoy training dogs through new environments like that as well. Whether it's chilling at the house, going on a run/hike, or just a neighborhood walk, I will treat your dog like my own, and not only take care of them, but maybe teach them a few things ;) I can't wait to meet your pup! I work full time Mon-Fri, so my availability for walks/hikes/adventures is during the weekday evenings, and almost all weekends! Whether you don't want to deal with the cold rainy nights on the way, are busy but want your pup exercised, or want to get away for a weekend, I'm your guy. For boarding and day care, because I wake up early for work, I'm generally only available friday evening through Sunday, although certain special arrangements can be made. I don't have a fenced yard, but I live right by the Lagoon and several amazing trails. Whether or not I'm looking after a pup, I am out for hikes, runs, walks, etc. Several times a day. Your dog will be well exercised, taken for alllll the sniffs and walks, well loved, and may even learn a new trick. At home, I like to do some general training, tricks, fetch in the house, or just relax on the couch, depending on the dog's vibe.

About: I have lifelong experience with pets, and somehow they always end up choosing me as their “favorite” person in the house. I genuinely understand their personalities and form deep connections with them. I can safely administer medication, give endless belly rubs to dogs, and I know all the classic favorite spots that make cats purr. I currently work full time from home and have a flexible schedule and a Friday off every two weeks and weekends are usually available as well. I live in a pet friendly condo with a fenced dog run area and easy access to Portage Park (pet friendly park). We own two very friendly pets, a dog and cat. Our dog has diabetes so we already do many potty breaks with him a day and administer insulin shots twice a day plus a mix of home made and prescribed food as well.

I have been involved with farming and farm sitting since I was a child. I work a couple of part time jobs in healthcare. Jason took the time to come meet him in advance of the date for travel to make him comfortable and was very attentive to his feeding and care instructions. Our Thalia had a lovely stay with Rachel and her family. Rose was, and continues to be, an absolute gem. From the moment we entrusted Kuma to her care, we knew he was in wonderful hands. Throughout his stay, Rose provided regular updates, photographs, and videos, giving us much-needed peace of mind while we were away. Her honesty, warmth, kindness, and genuine love for animals came through in every interaction. She didn’t simply “watch” Kuma — she welcomed him into her home, cared for him, cuddled him, played with him, and made him feel completely at ease. Perhaps the best review came directly from Kuma himself! When we arrived to pick him up, he greeted us with a few kisses and snuggles…and then promptly turned around and went back inside to continue playing with Misty. We couldn’t have asked for a better sign that he had felt happy, safe, loved, and very much at home. Finding someone you can trust with a beloved member of your family is incredibly important, and Rose gave us complete confidence from beginning to end. We are so grateful for the exceptional care she gave Kuma and would recommend her without hesitation. Five stars simply aren’t enough. Thank you, Rose, for loving our boy so well. Kuma is already looking forward to his next visit with you and Misty!
