I grew up with a rescue dog and multiple cats, and I've been around animals my whole life. I currently live with and co-trained a high energy German Shepherd/Malinois cross, so I'm very comfortable with daily exercise routines and handled her recovery after major knee surgery. I've taken on the sole care of a senior cat whose owner had to unexpectedlyleave the province for a year, I frequently sit for my relatives' cats, and have stepped in to care for a neighbour's Chihuahua when they had a medical emergency. I like to meet animals where they are at. cuddling the ones who want attention and giving space to the ones who need it, while figuring out their individual personalities.

Schedule
I work 9-5 in town, have a car, so am open to drop ins around those hours and overnight stays. I also live in a house with a fenced backyard with my good friend who is home during the day and happy to help sitting if you are looking for more full-time boarding.

Safety, trust & environment
Depending on the service, I keep things pretty adaptable. If they are staying at my place, I make sure they get plenty of time to decompress, utilize the fenced yard, and stick to a comfortable routine. If I'm staying at your house, I respect your space and your pet's normal habits. Because I pay close attention to animal body language, I'm quick to notice subtle signs if they are feeling stressed, anxious, or unwell, and I'll adjust accordingly.

A typical day
Lots of affection, cuddles, and pets. If boarding, we like to walk at thetis lake, or play with toys in the backyard. I like to use enrichment activities for dogs who like them such as licking mats, frozen treats, or puzzle toys.
