“Meredith was great and flexible for drop in visits. She was available on short notice and came for a meet and greet the very next day. She sent pictures and updates, wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.”

“Heather is a life saver. I didn't have my door code working for her TWICE and she patiently waited on me to fix it. She showed how dedicated she is to caring for my cat. He loves her! I can tell he was purring in the photos. (His Lil nose scrunches up when he purrs)”

“Our babies loved Kim! She knew what they needed and went above and beyond for them. She also was very accomadating to our last minute request. We are so thankful she took such great care of our children!”

“Kristin did a great job with my cat and handled the somewhat complicated instructions for getting into my apartment building perfectly! I appreciated her flexibility in accommodating timing needs as well.”

“This is my third time booking with Rachel and I always feel at ease knowing she is taking care of my two cats! She is very thorough and sends detailed notes and lots of pics! Our cats are sometimes nervous around other people but they always quickly warm up to her and I always come home to very happy boys!”

“Thank you so much for checking on Frankie! She is currently sitting at the door waiting for you to come, even though we are on the couch. I think that is a pretty positive review from a cat (haha).”

“Randy showed patience and kindness to my grumpy cat. I can tell that he loved playing with Randy. Randy was respectful of my property and time. I will definitely rebook him in the future and recommend him to my friends.”

“Our ferrets are always the hardest pets to take care of because of their quirks (ankle-biting, not being litterbox trained). Bell was not only extremely patient with them but truly seemed to enjoy their company and playful spirit. She did a wonderful job keeping their space clean, providing food, water, and play, and keeping me updated on their well-being. I can't recommend her highly enough.”

About: I’ve pet sat my friends animals, and they’ve had so many! Senior dogs that have accidents and have behavioral issues. Exotic pets, of many kids. Every morning, I fill the cat and water bowl in my room, weekly I clean the bowls. For my dogs, whenever my parents don’t feed them cause they are out, I feed them and fill their water. I brush their coats, and try to give them baths every few weeks or so! However the pet parents would like, but I care for what is best for their health. I understand each pet is different and needs different things. I can bathe the animals depending on behavior, my right leg doesn't haven't as much feeling since surgery and cant handle a lot of big pressure.
About: I have always been surrounded by dog, whether it was my own or taking care of others. I believe that dogs deserve as much love as they give us. I am a homebody, but that means that I'll be more available to hang out with your dog for walks or trips to the park. I live in a townhouse apartment, which means that I have experience with walking dogs around non-fenced areas. This also means I will be observant if you do have a fenced area.
About: All my life, I've had dogs and cats as part of my family. I have a lot of experience with caring for puppies and older dogs and cats as well as feeding, walking, bathing, and playing with other's pets. I'm currently working a part-time job which lets me keep my schedule open and flexible. I'm available mornings and evenings most week days and weekends. Typically, I do my best to keep the pet's routine the same (walking, playing, and feeding times) as well as keeping to special instructions, such as administering medicine or training methods. I'm neat and clean and make sure to keep people's homes tidy with both day visits and overnights. Also, I give people daily updates on their pets while they're away, including photos and daily check-in texts.
“McGhee was great! I booked last minute and she was very accommodating. Got cute pictures and updates everyday for my kitty girl, who looked very happy :) Will definitely be booking with McGhee again”

About: I have taken care of many dogs and cats, from high school to present, when friends and relatives have relied on me to walk dogs and change litter boxes. Now, I love to play with my friends' dogs and go for walks around the neighborhood! I am currently on research time in residency which means more flexibility, working partially from home, and more time to take care of your pets! My schedule varies week to week, and include time working from homes and gaps when I can take pets on walks. I have a fenced in back yard and fairly spacious one bedroom in a walkable neighborhood, centrally located, and perfect for a walk around the block, leisurely long stroll, or multiple night stay! For walks, I also like to go to Eno state park or other nearby trails to tire your pup (and myself) out. For pet sitting in your house, I am organized, respectful, and clean. Your pet will get lots of play time and belly rubs!
“Janne was amazing with my dog—so caring, thoughtful, and clearly loves animals. The best part was how flexible she was when unexpected stuff came up, like severe weather. It really gave me peace of mind knowing my pup was in such good hands.”

“Meredith is a great sitter! She was super communicative with me while we were away and I could tell she really cared about taking the best care of my cat that she could. She left really detailed visit notes and took lots of pictures and videos, which made me feel better too. Will definitely be booking with Meredith again!”

About: Like many pet parents, I often rely on friends, coworkers, and family to help check in on our fur babies when my wife and I travel for work. While that support is invaluable, it doesn’t always line up—and when it doesn’t, it can add unnecessary stress to an already busy trip. Because of this, I truly understand how challenging and stressful it can be to leave your pets behind. That’s why I offer reliable pet care services for fellow pet parents who travel frequently or simply need an extra helping hand. My services include check-ins, walking, and house sitting. At home, we have five cats: one 16-year-old geriatric grump and four energetic “crazies” ranging from 3–5 years old. Each has a unique personality, but all share a love for food and plenty of belly and head rubs. I specialize in cat care, as cats are often misunderstood as being “easy.” While some are, others require more attention and emotional support—something I know firsthand. Cats, like people, can experience separation anxiety, stress, and even depression when their routines change. My own cat, Chuck Roast, is a perfect example and always needs extra care when I travel. This has taught me how important it is to understand and respect each cat’s individual needs and personality. While cat care is my specialty, I also have experience caring for dogs. I’m always happy to meet you and your pets beforehand to make sure it’s a great fit and that everyone feels comfortable before moving forward. I know your pet is a cherished member of your family, and I promise to care for them with the same love, patience, and attention they deserve. I work out or RTP and have a very flexible schedule to support your pet care needs. Please reach out and let me know your unique needs. My rates are flexible. Always happy to discuss this to see how my services can help your needs. I work a pretty set schedule and am able to walk your pets, let them out to potty, do check-ins and feed them, or house sit at your place(dependent on my schedule and if I’m traveling for work)! If interested, we can see how I can help!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Braggtown
Raquel is amazing! She came twice a day to give my senior cats eye drops and special diet, gave plenty of love and care, even took care of the accidents. In addition to the great photos she took, she provided details for every visit that put me at ease. Would love to have her back!

Heather is a life saver. I didn't have my door code working for her TWICE and she patiently waited on me to fix it. She showed how dedicated she is to caring for my cat. He loves her! I can tell he was purring in the photos. (His Lil nose scrunches up when he purrs)

Emma did a great job taking care of my cat while I was away! My cat always looked happy to see her in the awesome pictures I received each day, and they seemed to get along very well. It was also very easy to communicate with Emma during my trip when I had a few things come up unexpectedly. It was so great to know that my house and my pet were in good hands. I would absolutely book again!

Bell is a 5-star Rover worker. My niece needed immediate admittance to the hospital last week. Care for her cat needed to be arranged within 24 hours. Bell stepped up and accepted the assignment immediately, working my niece’s cat into her schedule as best she could on the first day and at the same time of day for the remainder of the week. She demonstrated genuine care for Taz. She photographed the two of them together to demonstrate her time with the cat and her connection with him.
Alyson did an amazing job with feedback and progress photos She also took the time to meet my pup Jackie before the booking and stayed in touch to confirm the booking leading up to the booked dates. Would 100% recommed to fellow pet owners and would book again!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
