“Tori and her family took such great care of our small older dog who has some health issues including med administration needs and occasional pain due to previous cancer. Everything from getting holly to their home (Tori last minute offered to pick Holly Up and this was a godsend because our trip was last minute and we were trying to coordinate many other things) to start her visit to pick up and updates in between were great. Her sons are very gentle and natural animal lovers so that was not any concern even though our dog generally prefers calm environments. I would highly recommend Tori and her family for caring for your pet!”

She took Darcy for a fun evening out to meet dogs and people alike at a sports restaurant, and Darcy received lots of love from Katie and her family throughout the week. Katie’s dog, Luna, was very friendly and welcoming. Overall, Katie was very attentive and we could relax on vacation feeling confident that Darcy was well-cared for. We will definitely be re-booking!”

“Kate & her family have now several times hosted our pup Willow and we are so thankful for their hospitality and care! Kate’s school-age daughters are so responsible and proactive in their involvement (helped provide a once-daily medication to our pup) and also have fun teaching tricks! We are so lucky to have found Kate in the area.”

“Hadassah provided exceptional care and love for our pup and made sure to follow our requests and his routines . She was loving, patient and willing to allow her dog and ours to have fun adventures but also made sure to spend quality time with our dog and make him have the best vacation ever ! Thanks so much Hadassah!”

“Alyson was great! Gave daily updates including photos and provided a nice balance of love/care and respect of boundaries for our cats. Would definitely book again!”

“Paul is everything we could hope for in a pet sitter! He always goes the extra mile and we feel extremely comfortable trusting him with the care of our cats while we are gone! We have utilized his services in the past and plan to again.”

“Janne is responsive, warm and paid attention to detail while taking care of my cat. I appreciate that she was available for a meet and greet on short notice and also seemed excited to interact with my cat. Will definitely use her again! Thanks Janne 🖤”

“Our cat loves hanging out with Kim and her cats, hiding in their cabinets, and feeling safe in their home. He's stayed with them a few times now and feels secure and at peace when with Kim and her kitties. We also love that he gets to socialize with other cats. Kim communicates really well and I am happy to have found a really nice person and vacation place for my cat to stay with. I highly recommend Kim for cat sitting services. She's great.”

“Chelsea was exceptional with our cats Daisy and Max. Our Daisy has a heart condition which requires her to take 2 medications twice daily and she administered her medications with two visits every day. She gave them a lot of attention which they loved (and frankly our cats can be a little needy). She took care of their litter boxes every day, checked our mail, took out the recycling and even hot glued the well loved and worn scratching posts and those are as good as new again. She was very pleasant and communicative. I could not give Chelsea enough gratitude for her value and my peace of mind to leave my 2 cats with her knowing that she was keeping my little Daisy cat alive by making sure she got her medications every day. I highly recommend Chelsea for pet sitting.”

“We had never used Rover and had a last minute need for someone to give medicine to our old cat. Kat was so reassuring and helpful! Made us feel at ease leaving and was patient and comfortable with our grumpy old cats. We’re really grateful!”

“Meredith was great and flexible for drop in visits. She was available on short notice and came for a meet and greet the very next day. She sent pictures and updates, wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.”

“Blake was thorough and consistent with taking care of my cat’s needs! I really appreciated their daily updates, cute pictures of my pet, and their flexibility. I would definitely choose Blake again to watch my cat!”

“Anita was perfect! She was so easy to work with and took great care of my two cats for the week I was gone. She went above and beyond what I asked of her and made sure my babies were well loved and taken care of. I would 10000% recommend her services, she’s the best!!!”

About: A few years ago, I lost both my very senior dogs, which I adopted as puppies from the shelter. As you can imagine, there's a dog-shaped space in my life. I'm not ready to adopt again, but that means your dog has a second home! Other than errands, I’m home all day with your dog. (If they like car rides, they’re welcome to join me for school dropoff and pickup!) My yard is fenced and shady, and there are plenty of sidewalks for adventures around the neighborhood. If your pet needs a crate, please provide it. I almost always have more than one dog at a time, so yours needs to be dog-friendly or at least dog-tolerant. I also have twin 11-year-olds—both great with dogs, but yours should not be kid-reactive.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of care, attention, and consistency I provide. I don’t just “watch” dogs — I take the time to understand their routines, personalities, and comfort needs so they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. I intentionally limit the number of dogs I care for at one time, allowing for individualized attention, a calm environment, and plenty of affection. In our home, dogs are surrounded by love — including from my daughter, who genuinely enjoys helping care for them and gives them extra cuddles, playtime, and attention. With regular updates, clear communication, and genuine care, every dog is treated like family — never just another booking. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because I work from home full-time. This allows me to be present throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship—rather than leaving dogs alone for long stretches. I also have a small Yorkie at home, which helps keep our daily schedule consistent and structured, from regular potty breaks to walk times and meals. We’re lucky to have a nearby dog park that we walk to daily, giving dogs regular exercise, fresh air, and social enrichment as part of their routine. This established rhythm creates a calm, predictable environment where dogs can settle in quickly, while I remain available to supervise, respond to needs, and provide plenty of affection throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines as closely as possible to minimize stress, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, and preferred play or rest times. I treat each home with respect and provide regular updates, photos, and clear communication so pet parents have peace of mind. In both settings, pets are cared for with patience, affection, and individualized attention—never rushed and never treated like just another booking.
“Cherie was very nice to deal with all the way from the initial booking to picking up Wilson to bring him back home. This was my first time using Rover and I was worried about him about half an hour after I had dropped him off. The next thing I know my phone dings and there’s a couple of pictures of Wilson looking happy with his new friends! I was very happy with his care and we are looking forward to working with Cherie again soon.”

“Adrian is amazing! My pup loves going there; it’s very evident that Adrian takes great care of her and I feel relieved during the work day knowing that she is in excellent hands. Highly recommend!”

“Jessica is amazing with Sydney! She sends me updates throughout the day of Sydney's adventures meeting new pups or going on walks with friends. Always fun to see those while I'm working. Jessica has been very flexible and receptive if work requires more of my time. Highly recommend!”

“Chelsea and David were amazing! When I picked up my pup, she was happy and tuckered out! I would definitely bring my girl back to them when I come back into town. Can't recommend enough!”

“Qian is great! She showed lots of love and care to my dog, sending many text updates, photos and videos. Toys, multiple trips to the dog park, and cuddle time on the sofa. My dog truly had an amazing time. I highly recommend Qian and will be surely be rebooking.”

“It is an anxiety producing event for me to leave my Coton de Tulear in the care of others. Julie and Greg are patient, well informed about dog’s emotional and behavioral needs, and very gentle. My dog is not familiar with cats and they are helping him get over his fear of them. We have already booked other dates and look forward to becoming regular clients.”

“Teri was AMAZING! My dog Delilah is always super anxious around sitters, but she settled in very quickly with Teri. Teri was sweet, loving, kind, and gentle with my baby girl. Definitely a good pick!”
“Javarris is an excellent communicator! We received updates on our dog throughout the day. Nala had a great day with Javarris and his family, especially with their pup. I look forward to work with him again.”

“My pups had a great time with Vincent! They don’t usually warm up so quick, but they seemed right at home from the very start. They have a great outdoor setup and their dogs were soo sweet, too! We will definitely be reaching out again!”

“Thank you David! Our pups seemed to have a great time! They slept the entire 3 hour ride home. Glad we found you & would not hesitate to return whenever we are in the area.”

“Can I give six stars?? Evie and Fritz provided the exact care we were looking for. Great spaces for playing and cuddling, steady stream of attention, and pure love for dogs. When our pup got too distracted to eat dinner, they sat with her to make sure she was fully fed. Highly recommend and cannot wait to book with them again!”

“Ally is willing to go above and beyond to make all animals feel comfortable and cared for. She’s very responsive and provides any and all reassurance and communication.”

About: I’ve lived with or taken care of dogs since I was young. More than 20 years! We adopted our family dog,Thompson, who was a chow mix, from Animal Control when he was 2-3 years old. He was with us for over 10 years. In the past 6 months, I’ve done house and pet sitting for 2 pit bulls at one home, a a feisty cockapoo at another, as well as stayed with an elderly yellow lab and her feline roommate. I’ve helped with the 2 latter owners several times. I’m semi-retired, and when I have a contract I work from home. Other than spending time and taking care of my cat, Owl, I can be available as my schedule allows. My cat, Owl, is an indoor only cat. I prefer to help out at the owner’s home. Owl is very shy and gets anxious around animals he doesn’t know.

About: Hi All, My name is Alessandria but I prefer to be called Alekx and no the K is not a typo. My hair color is subject to change but it's just dyed hair braided into my natural hair. I have been caring for animals professionally since 2006, until 2013 where I took a leap in a different field of work. I use to move all over the country but I am home and hoping to start pet sitting as my main job. I have a guinea pig by the named Tikka Teacake and she is a little siren but she is my 3rd guinea pig. I am a non-smoker and prefer days curled up with fluffy creatures and a good book. In regards to my experience I have worked at pets resorts such as Sunny Acres where I had a few loyal dogs that I dearly miss. I have owned large dog breeds my whole life and grew up with pure breed Rottweilers, German Shepherd mixes, and my current lovely mutt. I have been doing home pet sitting for over a decade. I usually spend most the day when I am at home entertaining my pets or letting them have free run of the backyard with regular check ins. I make sure that their food is good for their stomach, their daily exercise if playing outside with a normal dose of petting and grooming. I recently got off of medical leave so I have started short nightly walks and we work out together to stay happy and healthy. I am a big night owl so I love watching my dogs snore about. A safe home is one your pet recognizes as the pack den. I care for all pets with repetitive training, health care checks, grooming, and dental care as long as they will let me. I love to make a home pet safe by avoiding choking hazards and loose cables. (Mainly because my guinea pig is a little menace). Medications are taken with timers and usually snuck into foods. I like keeping basic training habits are maintained so that the pets do not unlearn anything their humans have taught them.
“Heather has been a great walker for my pup! She always takes good care of her and sends pics and updates. I especially appreciate how often she’s been able to come through on last minute requests.”

About: I grew up living with dogs and have consistently dog/house sat for friends and family for over a decade. I'm a recent PhD Graduate on the job hunt, so I can spend the days with you dog while working remotely I've pet sat throughout the past decade while working and during graduate school. I'm currently searching for a job, so I have plenty of time to spend with your dog during the day I prefer to care for the dog in the client's home. Your dog is already missing you, they will feel more comfortable with me if they are at home

About: I've been caring for dogs since 2014, when my family welcomed our own dog into our home. Because he was reactive around other dogs, I gained firsthand experience with consistent training, patience, and understanding canine behavior. Through structured training and positive reinforcement, I watched him become much calmer and more confident around other dogs, which taught me the importance of tailoring care to each dog's unique personality and needs. I've also fostered a puppy, giving me experience with younger dogs and the extra attention, playtime, and consistency they require. I love keeping dogs active by taking them on long walks and hikes, exploring new trails and neighborhoods while making sure they get plenty of exercise, enrichment, and affection. Whether your dog enjoys an adventure outdoors or prefers a slower-paced stroll, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while they're with me. I am currently a graduate student at Duke University, so I will have flexible time for your pup's needs! I am free all day on weekends, Monday, Tuesday, Thursdays after 12pm and all day starting from 6am on Sunday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. I am available to walk dogs during the day and typically enjoy local hikes around Eno State park. Your dog's safety is my absolute priority. During walks, I always keep dogs securely leashed unless we're in a designated off-leash area with the owner's permission. Since I have experience with reactive dogs, I stay alert of our surroundings and will avoid situations that may be stressful for dogs. When caring for pets at your home, my rule is to treat your home and dog as I would treat mine. This includes following feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and respecting house guidelines. I also make sure pets have plenty of attention, playtime, enrichment, and bathroom breaks. As an attentive dog owner myself, I understand the need for peace of mind while you're away. I provide regular updates and photos to keep you informed about how your pet is doing. My intention is to make sure your pup is happy, safe, and healthy while you are apart.
About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life! My family had a wonderful mutt that arrived the same year that I was born, so he was essentially my puppy sibling. He has long passed away but I also have many years of experience dog sitting for my family and friends and can provide references. My current place won't let me have pets, so it will be awesome to get my fix by taking care of your wonderful dogs! I can't wait to meet them. I have a full time Monday-Friday job, but I am available on weekends, and after 5:30 during the week. I can be flexible, and try to accommodate your ad your pet's needs! Safety is my first priority. I will never have company or even food delivery inside of your home, and will never provide your address to anyone else, unless it is an emergency, in which case I will contact you directly first and get your permission to call my emergency contact (my mother)! I will make sure I feed and walk your dogs(s) consistently, and of course play with them and give them attention while you are away. I do not mind doing light housework, and I am comfortable with sitting for more than one dog.
About: After growing up with cats and dogs all my life, I have a special place for them in my heart. I now have two cats of my own that I love to spoil and care for. I have experience walking and checking on neighbors' dogs as well as house/pet sitting overnight. I have experience working with a wide range of cats and dogs - from kittens and puppies to senior pets. Depending on your dog's personality and interests, possible activities include playing at dog parks, walking through the neighborhood, or relaxing in the backyard. I am detail oriented and will cater to you and your pet. I would love to become your pet's best friend!
“Bell is reliable, attentive, friendly, and my dog loved her! He is a fearful and sometimes stubborn baby, she was able to get him out for walks on the first visit when it has often taken people multiple times to get to that point. She was very quick and thorough in her responses and put me at ease that my pup would be okay while I was out of town. We will definitely consider her again in the future!”

About: Hello! My name is Ayana, and I’m 25 years old. I have a passion for working with animals of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I currently work professionally in a dog daycare/boarding environment, where I spend my days caring for dogs in group play settings, monitoring behavior, supporting enrichment activities, and making sure every pup stays safe and has fun! I’ve had animals by my side for as long as I can remember and currently have a kitten of my own who completely runs the household. I also have a senior cat who still lives with my mom and will forever be my first baby. Through both personal and professional experience, I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, patient, attentive, and genuinely caring to look after your pets. At this time, I’m offering dog walks and drop-in visits. My work schedule can vary week to week, so I keep my Rover calendar updated regularly to reflect my availability. I can’t wait to meet your pets, learn all their little quirks and personalities, and give them lots of love and attention while you’re away! I plan on providing for your pet as if they were my own while still following all your wants and needs. I will make sure to send pictures and updates!
About: I worked as a zookeeper for a few years, briefly worked as a professional dog walker, and for over 7 years I have been a vet tech! I have lots of experience with animal behavior/handling, fear free/positive reinforcement training, and veterinary medicine. I graduated from University of Delaware in 2015 with my Bachelors degree in Animal Science. Comfortable giving pets medications if needed, or caring for exotic pets. I own 2 dogs of my own currently, and would love to provide professional and quality pet sitting or dog walking services to the Durham community, as I recently relocated here! I recently relocated to the Durham area, and currently have open availability! I will update if this changes, but right now I can provide care any day of the week! I provide care at your home, as I feel most pets feel most comfortable in their own space! I am happy to drop by for pet checks, walks, feedings, or to medicate. I am available for pet sitting overnight services as well, if you are going to be out of town. Happy to discuss details of your individual pets' needs!
“So thankful Randy was able to walk our pups. I'll be reaching out again if I go out of town. Was communicative and friendly, followed instructions, and was great with the pups.”

About: Hello! Thank you for your trust and for taking the time to read my profile. I have grown up around pets of all kinds and have extensive experience caring for dogs and cats of various ages, sizes, temperaments and breeds. I have been using Trusted Housesitters for the past two years to care for pets as an exchange for staying in others homes, receiving an average rating of 5 stars for over 13 visits across the US - see attached pictures for a few testimonies :) I believe I am a great sitter for the time, energy, and love I put into every pet I have cared for - I feel immensely grateful that so many people have continued to trust me with their pets, and have allowed me the joy of spending time with their animals. I am responsible, compassionate, and communicative - it is incredibly important to me that everyone is comfortable and happy while also respecting any requests or boundaries that the owner has in place. When I am not spending time with others beloved pets, I work in public health as an Occupational Health manager, supporting our workers and advocating for more protective measures for these populations. Additionally, purchased a Sprintervan back in 2022 (named Danger O'shea;) that I have had converted into a mini-home, which I use for both pleasure and business, renting it out whenever possible. Working remotely makes it easy for me to have flexibility throughout my day and allows me the opportunity to take breaks as needed to give your pet scratches, cuddles, and to go on ample walks/hikes as needed. I live in a home with a fenced in backyard and in close proximity to many parks, lakes, and trails. I love taking pets on excursions whenever I can (with owner approval), especially for those more active animals who need to burn off some extra energy :)
“Lauren was excellent with my dog!! She was always so great with communication, and ensured that my boy was well taken care of! Will definitely be contacting Lauren again in the future!!!”
